    Great video, Mark. I'm running a Holley carb and an aftermarket manifold (Edelbrock performer) on my 71 and she runs great. Good luck with the manifold project.

      Thanks. I would really like to get a Holley Sniper EFI. Maybe I will for it for Christmas. LOL

      Thanks for watching. I'm glad I could help. I think it's great when a father and son get to work together on a project like this.

    I was lost after the first disconnect, lol , but I still liked the video. 👍 you need to get you some of those sweat bands! That's really a nice building you have to work on all your projects. Thought any about putting in air? I mean, with all your money and all, LOL LOL LOL
    Love to all,
    Sis

    How did you cap off the manual choke vacuum lines? There are two lines that sits below the choke and I see you have capped those off.

      I used some rubber caps. I purchased a pack of caps at one of the auto parts stores.

    UNLESS YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR BABY WITH MATCHING NUMBERS, YOU COULD HAVE BOUGHT A NEW 350 GM CRATE ENGINE, WITH A WARRANTY, FOR WHAT IT WOULD COST TO REBUILD AN ENGINE.

      @timewiththedurbins  2 роки тому +3

      I agree with you. I thought I would save money by rebuilding my engine. I now know I was wrong. The thing that really sucks about the whole deal is that it's not a numbers matching engine. Live and learn. Thanks for watching.

    What Cam are you running? What was your vacuum number at idle? What kind of mileage are you getting with your current set-up?

    • @timewiththedurbins
      @timewiththedurbins  Рік тому +1

      I am running a stock cam. At the time of this video I was only running around 11" of vacuum due to a timing issue that I resolved in a future video. After I corrected the timing I am running around 17" of vacuum. At the time this video was made my speedometer was not working so I had no way of checking mileage. Again that issue has been corrected but I have not checked to see what kind of mileage I am getting. I will try to check it and post the results in a future video. Thanks for watching.

      @@timewiththedurbins when I heard you say 11” of vacuum that didn’t sound right at all with a stockish sounding cam.

    • @timewiththedurbins
      @timewiththedurbins  Рік тому

      It was that low due to the timing chain being off one tooth. I did not assemble this engine so it took some time for me to figure out why the engine was running so bad. The video I posted on August 14, 2022 titled "Timing one tooth off on a Chevy 350". That video explains the issue I was having with the engine and why the vacuum was so low. If you get a chance, please watch it and let me know what you think. Thanks,

    It would be nice to know what year your "C3 Corvette" is.
    It's obvious that you removed a M4 series and replaced it with a 4M series Quadrajet.

    Great video. What are your Rpm’s at 55? I just got a 1975, manual, and it screams at 55.

      My RPMs at 60 are 2300. A friend of mine has a 76 with a stock 4 speed and his car runs around 3000 at 60 MPH. I think mine is lower due to the fact that my car originally came with an automatic. I don't know gear is in the rear end.

    I didn't see or hear those secondary flappers opening up ?? you sure the carb is performing at max??

    • @timewiththedurbins
      @timewiththedurbins  Рік тому

      I'm not sure of anything with that carb but the good news is my new Holley Sniper EFI came in today so in a few days that old carb is not going to matter. I also purchased Edelbrock aluminum heads and Performer manifold. I have been watching some UA-cam videos on the heads and most people say they need to be reworked before you put them on your car. I'm going to pull a couple of valves out and check the seat run out. On the videos they were getting between .008 to .010 run out. That is way too much.
