That’s a nice technique for the raised areas of the flower petals. I’ve seen others load the brush and do a pushing motion towards the edges. I think yours is quicker and I will have to try it out.

Magnolias are my favourite flower and this is beautiful so you can imagine how astonishing it is for me to focus on the background instead of the flowers. I love the way you did it. It's just perfect for the flowers and I'm definitely going to try your way on my next magnolia painting

I love that your spring is ahead of ours. 💖 Our crocuses and daffodils are popping. I just saw a magnolia in bud stage yesterday. 😍 Magnolias are beautiful!! 🥰 I love the textures you achieved with that heavy Gesso!! 🤤 Then the mixture of paints you created to get the right shades was just amazing!! ❤️ The background creation was so cool to see, too!! 🤗

Oh that's so beautiful. I'm from Louisiana and magnolia's are our 'tree'. They smell so good. It brings me back in a time of good memories. You did an excellent job re-creating the beauty of the flower. I could almost smell it all the way over here in Arkansas. Lovely!
