I feel like you definitely missed the cues that Dani is into girls. 😅 When you said it looked like she was getting cold feet during the dress fitting, that was her feeling and fighting her attraction to the seamstress. When she says to Edmund in the car that she does love him, she adds "It's just not -" before he interrupts her. She loved him, but not like that. Owen's monologue at the bonfire is really beautiful.
Nice reaction! The reason why the model of the house "knows" what it knows is one of my favorite aspects of this story. Regarding Dani's feelings towards her fiancée, I think it's not so much "I love you but I'm not ready to be married" as it is "I love you but not in that way". If you think of her as a young lesbian in the 80s, very closeted and/or in denial of her own feelings, every piece of her story clicks perfectly into place.
Dani was definitely breaking up with Edmund. She loved him, but not the way he thought (and the way she wanted to). Flanagan will show you why soon enough. And there were hints in earlier episodes, but they’re harder to catch on first viewing. His work always benefits from repeat viewings.
Good day gentlemen. I enjoyed your reaction & commentary, but u missed a very big point concerning Dani. Dani is actually a lesbian. She was keeping that side of herself hidden, especially considering the time period. Edmund was in love w/her, but she wasn't w/him. The discussion in the car w/Edmund, Dani said something like "I figured overtime I'd feel what I was suppose to feel." Edmund said something. Dani responded w/ "I do love u, & I love u still, but it's not..." Edmund interrupted her, basically told her "F U" & stepped out of the car. She was trying to tell him she didn't love him in a romantic way like he loved her. Another hint from the past was the seamstress during the dress alterations. The seamstress was flirting w/her. I mean, a woman slowly drawing her hand across another woman's lower back in a sensual way speaks volumes. I'm going to sound a bit sexist right now,. Of course, u didn't get it, you're men. Hardly any male reactors I have watched picked up on the signs that Dani is a lesbian w/the exception of 3 gay reactors. The shadow figure of Edmund is a manifestation of Dani's guilt. She felt responsible for his death. Did u guys notice that once she began showing interest in Jamie, the gardener, Edmund's shadow form began to appear outside of reflections? The 1st time he fully appeared in front of Dani was the night she grabbed Jamie's hand & held it for a few seconds before Jamie left for home. He appeared in the mirror during the playful moment between Dani & Jamie getting Dani "out of" her black dress. Once again, the shadow of Edmund appeared outside of reflections w/his hands on Dani's waist when in the kitchen Jamie gave Dani a flirtatious wink which made Dani smile. Finally, he appeared crouched right next to them whilst they were kissing. I'm glad she finally let go of her guilt about his death by throwing those glasses into the bonfire.😊 Don't know if u guys have already watched it, but the next episode is Hannah's episode. If u pay attention to the episode, then you'll find out why she lights the 4th candle.😊
Oh wow. That makes so much sense now that I think about all the subtle cues you mentioned. We messed that one up big time (or I did at least). I thought it was nervousness and the seamstress doing "seamstress things" . Yep. It might just be a guy thing if no one else picked up on it. Hopefully she frees herself of that guilt. I thought she would at the end but he just stood there. We have. It's currently on our Patreon. Honestly, we might need your help in the next one too😂
@@RamblersInc 😄 Which next one, Hannah's episode or "The Jolly Corner" Uncle Henry's episode? I would be only too happy to point out anything u misinterpreted or missed all together.😊 Currently, I can't afford to be on anyone's Patreon, so I have to wait for the episodes to air on UA-cam. U know, it's funny that I have only seen the series in its entirety only once, but remember so much of it. I guess, it could be watching the clips from UA-cam reactors such as yourselves that keeps it fresh in my mind.😊
Such a great episode and I love the theories. This kids stopping Dani and spinning a yarn to keep her in that hall was so well written, and then seeing the Lady in the background horror 101 but pitch perfect. Watched this show with my sister-in-law who came to visit to make sure I was OK and got caught up by the second UK lockdown. We'd agreed by the previous episode that Dani was a lesbian, this episode just felt like vindication.
@@RamblersInc All those answers are coming. As for the other, I wouldn't worry about it. Unless I'd spent years with a lot of Lesbian friends including my sister-in-law I doubt I'd have noticed either; especially in a ghost story. It is always fun to see how oblivious people are to how beautifully subtle the performance and clues are. 😁
This is show is 99% perfection. The one thing i would change is Edmund at the bonfire at the end. he should explode in a flash of sparks when the glasses are burned. To symbolize that his spell over her is broken. But instead he stays there and it confuses most people and they assume he is sticking around. That is my one gripe with this practicly perfect show. In case its not clear he is gone now.

THAT'S what that was? Yep. We definitely missed that 🤦♂️

Hannah's one. Get ready for two idiots tripping over themselves next week... especially in the "review" if we can call it that 😂
@@RamblersInc Sounds like fun.😊

Still, so many questions like why/how do they know so much about that lady?
Yeh, we got the breakup completely wrong 🙃

I thought that was going to happen as well. And then....he just stood there. Maybe, it's a way of saying the trauma will always stay with her?
