Ive just started watching you an you gave me hope to fish in nyc because everyone told me not to or to go to yonkers my things is i rarely an barley hear about people fishing 🎣 in nyc im so sorry for rambling i wanted to tell you thank you for making these videos an showing your viewer good spots to fish at God bless you🙏🙏
Appreciate your support G. Thank you. There is some really great fishing opportunities in NYC. With the water warming, there are new species showing up every Summer.
I remember going to the Pier in Coney Island and fishing for Mackerel when I was about 6 years old. That was in 1964. I caught one but some guys had 100's. I remember fishing without bait, the Mackerel hit the hook because it was shiny.✌️
Do you ever try cross bay bridge in Howard beach I go there and I do pretty good on all types of fish fluke are good there now just a try to fish the side facing JFK you won’t get snagged on the bottom it’s the better side. Give it a try
For sure but don't really like filming with the car noise. I know the area well and will try and film a video over there next week. Never see the other UA-camrs filming the JFK side so I appreciate your comment and will take a ride over there next week. I think there's a video from cross bay somewhere on the channel from a few years ago. Thank you for watching bud
Your videos are really fun and informative, I also love the memories as a New York saltwater fisher kid - now I’m getting back into it, and really love your guidance on how and what you use to make your catches. Solid videos my brotha, I’m gonna get on the beaches here in Staten Island soon and get my line wet again!
At least you're letting the bait sink to the bottom and retrieving it up a few feet and sink again. Watched some otther vlog where the angler couldn't understand why he wasn't catching any fluke. He kept reeling in the lure so fast the fluke never saw it. He never understood why both eyes of the fish were on the same side. They live on the bottom looking up. He wasn't a very good fisherma.
Hey Bob! As always thanks for taken us along! In my experience Fluke usually take on the drop. As the lure falls over their head, they'll shoot up and grab it. Is that not your experience? It sounded like you were a bit surprised.

@@BobAquatic thanks also. What kind of action rod cast further when using 1/2-1 oz lure. Thanks in advance
Have you ever tried for fluke around the pier pilings????? I know we do quite well in the Carolinas for flounder under the pier itself
@@zachperna2735 yeah they do. Catch a lot right under the pier. Depends on the day. Appreciate you watching Zach
Good job bob👍
@@FinnNbonesFishing thank you Finn
You should try the Shinnecock inlet in Hampton Bays. You cant get off the fluke.
That sounds like fun! Its out of my travel zone for now but one day

Take the LIRR to Long Beach and fish the Magnolia Blvd. Pier - Fluke, Bluefish & Stripers.
I always wanted to fish that pier. One day. Thank you for watching Gypsy
Great video. Do you cut the sandworm in half when using it on a Hogy jig
@@louisoctaviojr6876 yeah I’ll usually cut the work to size. But they sell 3” ones that work real well without cutting
@@BobAquatic 3" ones wow didn't know that. l just checked online they are 2" and 6". Thank you
@@louisoctaviojr6876 sorry it might be the 2” size is the smaller one, those are great for trailers
I have fished that same pier. It’s great when the stripers are running
