When I make a pork roast, I add rice at the end with a couple cups of water. All the juices and seasoning from the roast really creates somwthing special. The crispy bottom is sooo good.
Cooking food is one of those things that never ceases to amaze/surprise me. Never thought of just steaming meat by putting it on top of rice. The rendered beef fat mixed with the shallots must make the rice even tastier.

@@vhh1992 MSG is not always white you know. Soy sauce already provides that umami soy flavor, plus that beef tallow. Also if you don't know MSG is naturally occurring found in tomatoes, kelp and other food, again it's not white 😂
Andy, I think if you put a little bit of julienne-cut ginger into the rice will taste better since ginger and sesame oil work perfectly with each other in my opinion...
As HK people, I can tell you this clay pot rice is perfectly cooked. All the steps are authentic and it looks amazing!
