I can’t believe I’m early! Hi I’m 14 years old and I’m trying to learn more about Catholicism (Im Catholic myself but I’m really getting into it now) because I saw a lot of videos on social media which brought me closer to our Lord Jesus Christ but it was a lot of Protestants who said that so they didn’t agree with some Catholic teaches so I’m just trying to learn how to truly love Jesus how He wanted us too❤and it’s so beautiful how Father Mike teaches us❤
I have become less jealous as I have gotten older but that green eyed monster still shows up now and again. God, help me to admire and praise without the jealousy.

My RCIA program is using both the Catechism and the Bible by Acension. It's a crazy coincidence to be that I had found Father Mike first, and now an organization he is part of is being used in my conversion to the faith. All these signs show me I'm moving in a better direction than I have been in my life, and I truly am grateful to have found God.

Nice pep talk Father Mike. Jealousy is a terrible sin, habit, unkind jesture. As I get older, I find myself not being as jealous as I used to be. We need more kindness in the world and less criticism.

I think sometimes it's not jealousy...I'm jealous of no one. Sometimes I just shake my head at the adoration many professionals unduly receive for just having a gift or a talent. A basketball player really isn't someone we should admire just because they can play the game well. That teacher, mother of 3 that's giving her heart and soul to her family and community. That's who I admire.

I had the Roosevelt quote to inspire me when I was beginning a college student as a non traditional student. I went on to earn a Master degree and 2 nursing degrees. God was surely with me and He continues to not leave my side.
You're right that when we see excellence in people we should seek to be like them. We get jealous over the smallest things...I know I do...some people wouldn't even expect it that I would be jealous of them just because I have more or know more of something doesn't mean I can't be jealous of an experience that another has.
I can say "Oh why did you do that?" and The Lord knows I've said that a plethora of times, but I guess that is the wonder of living in a world of randomness. Am I jealous? Nah, would I like to be capable of the same feats? Also nah. But I do always strive to do the best in service to God.
I have jealousy in my heart. I’m jealous of seeing pretty much everyone around me do all the things I was doing in their relationships with God, and God actually responded to them, yet when I did those things, I was ignored. That tells me that I’m just not good enough for God to want a relationship with me. I’ve done the things that everyone suggests I do to draw closer to God, yet God couldn’t be any further away. What’s the point in doing those things when they don’t work?
I feel for you. That must hurt. God already loves you and doesn’t need you to do anything except perhaps to come to that realization. You are already his beloved son or daughter.
Pride: the first deadly sin. I struggle with it also. I think God allows me to be un acknowledged so I can learn humility. We cannot be saints until we embrace humility and overcome pride. Do things for God for LOVE. Not recognition.
It's just a competition you can hardly have a casual verbalisation without someone (singularly or in a group ) trying to outdo you .Jealously is so embedded in our society it' makes one wonder if you should open your mouth at all.

Is it envy/jealousy to think a particular celebrity's looks are overlooked? It should not bother me if many people say a celebrity is attractive, but they are okay, this is REGARDLESS of gender. I do not know if I am envious, but it makes no sense to be annoyed. A lot of people are envious of celebrities. I never considered people who were critical of me to be jealous/envious; I assumed they were negative, nitpicky, and frustrated. I am still determining what draws the eye to other people's failures. I guess to feel better about yourself. Some people are highly critical of themselves, too. Living up to high standards is good, but we must realize we are human. I can admire a beautiful woman from a distance, but I have difficulty being their friend because they attract so much attention, and I feel very invisible and insecure.
There are only 4% Christians in China, 2% in India, 1% in Saudi Arabia and 1% in Thailand. Your place of birth is linked to the belief, that means how likely you are to be saved.
Let's think twice 😊. If you had grown up in India, living with Hindu parents, what would you say about Jesus? I doubt you would say much about the Christian God.
There's an artist I admire but they use secular, sinful and "demonic" (not sure how to call it) themes. So I appreciate their technical talent and artistry, but I'm unable to respect their craft
I often remind myself that the devil is a master of counterfeit. Sometimes he might give someone a seemingly godly quality, only to elevate that person to fame or positions of power to spread himself. He is really sneaky.

Living up to high standards is good, but we must realize we are human.

There's an artist I admire but they use secular, sinful and "demonic" (not sure how to call it) themes. So I appreciate their technical talent and artistry, but I'm unable to respect their craft
