I'm a male who switched to soy milk about 15 years ago thinking it would be healthier than cow's milk. Within a month I developed a severe lump in my left breast. My doctor told me he thought I had breast cancer. I asked about the possibility of switching to soy being the cause. He poo-poo the idea and ordered tests out the wazoo, so I quit soy on my own. My gynecomastia cleared right up within a month. I switched my dietary habits and my doctor and have never looked back. No soy for me thanks.

Dr. Berg, ever since I have been following your program, I noticed that I no longer suffer from inflammation of the joints or arthritis of the hands (which I have been suffering from for a long time.) For the past two weeks, I've been manually digging and moving dirt with a shovel, daily, for hours. And, although, i am tired at the end of the day, my joints aren't achy. Your keto IF program enabled me to work just as hard, if not harder than before, but without all the soreness that usually comes with it. I started IF on April 1st, and started healthy keto, June 1st. I have gone from 139 lbs., back in April 2022, to under 125, today. I was addicted to eating and I learned that not eating so much, especially all those bad things, really makes a difference! I am always telling people to check out your videos because it worked for me, for certain. I commented to a UA-camr in Korea, to check you out because she has been struggling with her weight, and although she didn't reply, she mentioned in her last video, that she is watching you. It is my firm belief that your videos are the most useful information on the internet. Thank you!

At one point I was going to have a hip replacement, a hip replacement at 52 ,that's crazy. I walked with a cane and was in total pain. I thought it was from being a runner. But sometimes, soy isn't listed under Allergens, but soy lethicin is clearly in the ingredient.

    • @cowbats
      @cowbats 8 місяців тому +2

@@lemonyskunkketts7781 yep, it's hard to trust even the ingredients list these days. A few years ago, I saw something called "durum flour" in a cracker (or some other baked good that uses flour); I looked it up and it turns out that it's a variant of common whole wheat, yet nowhere on the label did it say it contained wheat.
I've seen similar for soy; a common one is 'vegetable oil', which is usually a mix of canola/another oil along with soybean oil, but it's only called vegetable oil, and nowhere does it say it's made with soy, so unless you call the company and ask which kind of vegetable oil they use, you could be eating it without knowing. Unless you find 100% canola or vegetable oil that is specified to be made with only canola/some other oil that is not soy, chances are it has soy.
It's wild how brands can get away with this, but I'm assuming there's some amount of soy/wheat/nuts/other they can use before being legally required to specify it's being used, just like how there's an amount of insect parts allowed in food before it's regulated lol. I get that bug parts are more of an... "unavoidable defect" and aren't really as dangerous as an unnamed common food allergy, but still xD

I also learned this past year about "Soy Boys" and living in a city off the Carolina coast I can see a lot of them around which is very disheartening as I don`t think they know how sick they are growing breasts and being overweight.
My biggest downfall is chicken which I love and get regularly from our local non organic markets as I cannot afford chickens from the farmers markets though I do buy and eat their "grass fed" eggs.
Please be careful and tread lightly when mentioning our government sponsored and approved foods as millions of us count on you for our health and well being. I no longer trust our Alphabet agencies esp after that nasty virus that went around.

Glad you brought this up, Dr. Berg. But this is far from new. Because I'm a vegetarian, I've know about the toxicity in the soy bean and its products for over 30 years. And I've avoided it since. I don't even eat those so called meat substitutes made for vegetarians out of soy products. The fact that it takes such a long time to cook the soya bean through (at least 2 and half hours) is indicative of its level of toxicity. This is the main reason the Asian health methods advise against it. I'm very happy you reminded us of this matter though, and to give so much pertinent information as well. Many thanks.

Asian soy is non-GMO. And it’s not all fermented, although we do eat a lot of fermented soy. We eat soy like westerners eat cheese. We create many different varieties out of soy beyond just tofu and soy milk. We even use them for desserts. And I’m not sure why Dr. Berg doesn’t think we drink as much soy milk. We drink tons of soy milk, including black soy milk. While everyone in elementary school was sipping on their highly processed, sugar infested, artificial fruit juices, I was sipping on soy milk growing up. East Asians have been eating soy for decades and lived without a lot of health issues westerners had. My belief is the soy in the US is just bad. So I personally don’t touch US soy as much as I can avoid it, including tofu, in the US unless it’s grown on a Korean or Japanese farm or factory in the US. Yes they do have those.
I’m also a believer that some of it has to do with your race/culture/genetics. Many Europeans don’t have lactose intolerance genetically, but many Asians do. So I think these blanket statements of soy is bad have only been tested on white westerners and mostly men and then all doctors and specialists assume it applies to everyone of all races.
So please use discernment. I hear the same thing about legumes and grains, but rice is a grain and we’ve been eating that in Asia for generations, sometimes with nothing else to eat, and we have lived without as many health issues. Same with legumes. When varieties of legumes are added to rice, we consider it to be healthier. Perhaps it’s inflammatory for white people, but not for the majority of Asians. Or maybe it’s US legumes that are bad.
Again, please use discernment. Every “body” is different. 😊

I am also a lover from mid 19th century to early 20th century Spanish guitar music and especially Julian Arcas and Francisco Tarrega.
For years I have supervised ceremonies and my preparation for them was 4 days of water fasting, the fourth day was the day of the ceremony held in the night.
I did this every two weeks and over time I continued to fast after the ceremony, for a total of 5, 7, 9, 11 days until I could fast from ceremony to ceremony.
In the end, I managed to fast for 25 days.
And yet I noticed that the fasting did not give me a long-lasting balance, it disrupts my life / eating rhythm.
I believe that you can only develop from off balance without skipping anything.
Of course I also did meditation and yoga for years and there were periods when I meditated 5 hours a day.
Meditation gives you balance but it also causes you to skip something, namely the reason why there is no balance in your daily life without meditation.
I always did food pretty well, I wasn't a food guerrilla but saw it more as a process to improvement.
Now I have been eating 2 times a day at 11 and 17 o'clock for a year and even though I ran into everything at the beginning, especially the sugar addiction, I am now really starting to experience the deep balance in my daily life and have found out that it does not matter where you stand in your life process, it is mainly about acceptance of what is there before you can find the new balance.
Thanks for all the good advice and tips.

Fasting is good, but without REAL nutrition body cannot repair/heal and maintain itself. Look into juicing (vegetables because of low sugar content, not fruits). There are many anti-cancer properties in certain vegetables and herbs if one can handle.
Onions, garlic, chili, turmeric, black pepper, ginger, green teas etc all anti-cancer. Carrot juice is high in vitamins A, but also has some sugar in it. Therefore recommend you don't drink alot of juice all at once. Instead 1 cup you can divide breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Idea is because you consume such low calories, you still get benefits from "fasting", BUT giving body nutrients to HEAL.
      Look up "Gerson therapy".
Good luck and best wishes to you!

Apple cider vinegar, 2 teaspoons a day, morning & night will aid in weight loss / lower triglycerides. But only use short term, I don't know long term side effects from it. Green tea whenever eating fatty meals also helps, and boosts metabolism and is a stimulant great for workout. (however can inhibit iron and other mineral absorbtion).
Other than that, diet and exercise.
Balancing between Energy input and activity level.
30 minutes, 3-5 x a week, moderate intensity activity. The more harder, or longer you work out the more your body will basically cannabalize / eat itself. Which is why if body builders ate normally until they are "full" they'd remain toned/shredded, but considered "small". That's why they have to force feed themselves and eat 3x the normal amount of calories just to maintain themselves (which is very unhealthy and increases all case mortality).
So work on frequency, intensity and duration of exercise, and or/ subtract around ~500 calories a day from diet. Incorporate some weight training. Body doesn't adapt without enough stressors.

Problem is many people don’t know how to listen to their bodies. They mistake cravings for hunger etc. People are so accustomed to eating sugar and other bad stuff, they don’t know how it feels to be truly healthy

What I want to know, Dr. Berg, is whether or not eating Organic Non-GMO fermented Tempeh is safe for me to eat? And is it healthy for me to eat? I need clarity on this, please.

If you're having soy as a staple in diet, then reduce until it's not anymore...if you're vegetarian it can be a real challenge to get enough high quality protein (I have been there) Well Being Alice Stanley

Soy protein is not bioavailable to humans unless it is fermented. But American dietitians and nutrition professionals continue to tout soy as high in quality protein despite containing an anti enzyme the human gut can not break down.

I just found out oils like soybean oil creates some of the most toxic aldehydes in the body recently. Been making my own mayo from olive oil and not eating anything with soybean or other bad oils like cottonseed or canola, I will eat olive, coconut oil or tallow. I have even been considering cutting out fast food as I don't know what oils they use.

I went to a commercial keto company several years ago so I would be supervised. They had me drink five protein drinks a day. That is where they made their money. I ended up massively bleeding and having to get a hysterectomy at 59, nine years after going through menopause. I didn't realize until years later when I watched your videos that the massive soy in those protein drinks was the cause. Also, I had to be tested for scirrosis even though I don't drink. I got a Freestyle Libre from my endocrinologist. I started taking supplements for my liver. One worked great, but one made my blood sugar crash. When I looked at the ingredients, the first ingredient was soy. Everything fell into place. Soy has been poisoning me all my life. I tried to eat healthy, but things were getting worse instead of better. That's why.

Dr. Berg you have a recipe on your website for edamame dip. Is the immature soy bean ok? Or have you since changed your mind about eating edamame?

I went a really long time without having soy with only a few minor moments where I accidentally had it ! And recently I found a restaurant called fresh kitchen which I really liked going to because I got tired of making my own food alot and I haven't really gone out to restaurant that much in years, so after months of eating at this place , I just now realized that some of there products have soy in it which makes Total sense because I always felt like I had Flem or mucus after eating there sometimes and so I recently tried to take out those items from the food I was getting and I definitely noticed a difference and don't have that same reaction ! It's sad that so many good things can be ruined by just one ingredient ! Other wise the food would have been totally fine for me to eat !

Good thing is one should absolutely avoid processed foods! Farmers foods who avoid soy, corn, ect and feed their animals correctly is the way to go.

I starting buying soy milk to replace regular milk lattes. The barista told me that it had the highest amount of protein vs. oatmilk and I’m allergic to tree nuts so almond/cashew milk are not an option for me. But I do remember having milk that was organic and grass fed and ai think I felt better. I will have to try that again.

Absolutely correct SIR. THANKS SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR PERFECT INFORMATIONS. 🙏
I'm allergic even to Tempeh. It creates high inflammation to my body.
Sadly in India every food item in grocery stores is loaded with corn or soy powder. Or cheap vegetable oils. When we point out that people think that I'm lunatic. Eating Carnivore is the only way to me. Kindly make a video about vegetables that cause inflammation. THANK YOU. 💖

Well I’m confused. Dr. William Li-a cancer researcher (TedTalks & UA-cam & author of “Eat to Beat Disease”) talks about non-GMO soy in preventing cancer & so does Dr. Kristi Funk, breast cancer surgeon ( “Breasts, The Owner’s Manual”). Funk had a very good explanation as to how non-GMO prevents the occurrence & reoccurrence & death from cancer. It would be enlightening if you invited them both on your program.
