What's interesting about Vigilante is that he's more effective than Peacemaker in a lot of ways. He's mentally unstable enough to do all the things Peacemaker can't.
@Paraone Ngatai I don’t think that makes peacemaker a better character. Maybe just more relatable on some level. So far vigilante is my favorite. I’m also not familiar with his comic book origins, so I could see how people who are might be a bit disappointed
@Paraone Ngatai that’s kind of my point. He’s more relatable because he seems to have some sort of moral compass. And we saw him vulnerable. People can also relate to his vulnerability. Vigilante is a completely deranged human being who hasn’t shown us vulnerable sides to him. And I surely wouldn’t want to be buddies with him. But his character is entertaining. To me he seems like a deranged kick ass who actually can kick ass.
@Paraone Ngatai He literally said in James Gunn's suicide squad and I quote peacemaker "I will achieve peace no matter how many MEN, WOMEN AND CHILDREN I have to kill to do it". Ya hear that? That's what he said.
That's only because the events of The Suicide Squad made Peacemaker realize of his mistakes and wrongdoings (he probably looked up to Rick Flag before the mission, as he's a real Coronel), I think Vigilante's story is more complex, he's probably the son of the original Vigilante, that's why he's not as successful, the whole story of his dad leaving him to start another life as a gay man is probably something Peacemaker or the White Dragon came up to cover Adrian's Dad suicide or assassination, Adrian's older brother probably was killed too and was supposed to take the mantle, i think in the end, Vigilante is just trying to honor his brother and father, just like Peacemaker, that's why he looks up to Chris as a surrogate big brother, the whole show is about that arc.
It feels so weird for me to see Adrian chase in peacemaker so happy and fun but then you look at the show "arrow" and the Adrian chase there is psychopathic genius killer, and a lawyer. EXCEPT that Adrian chase is Prometheus in arrow. The vigilante in arrow is Dinah drake's former lover and I forgot his name but it wasn't Adrian chase. So in arrow Adrian chase isn't even vigilante, he's just another character called Prometheus and the one who actually IS vigilante isn't even Adrian chase. Such a confusing show.

I think Gunn is the first director working with the DCEU to really get what makes the Marvel movies so popular, which makes sense because GotG really helped codify their formula. It’s not enough just to be funny, and it’s not enough just to have action. The characters we care about have heart, and their struggles through their story arcs are as much about their emotional journey as they are about punching/shooting bad guys.
That whole schtick of always cracking jokes and being goofy can get old fast but I was very surprised with how well they did Vigilante. I actually like vigilante more than Deadpool. The nerdy look and how he has no problem doing just about anything. I also think alot of the dialogue is just great and so entertaining. Gunn and Cena have really exceeded expectations with an incredibly entertaining show.
This is what happens in a comic multiverse. I think his mental instability still stems from all of that senseless killing and maybe his friendship with Peace Maker is the only thing that keeps him going.
This series is both educational, entertaining and philosophical. For a long time DCEU kept failing but with Joker, The Suicide Squad and now Peacemaker...Marvel looking more like a Disney version of the comic book world.
If Vigilante ever gets his own TV show i hope they show his descent into madness ( or him realizing he's a psychopath) the part where he start off as a classic superhero with a team and a code who only kills in self defense, accidentally,or with the environment but by issue 30 something he's just mowing criminals down like it's nothing lmao.

I mean hes competent with all types of firearms and hes good at hand to hand taking out those guys so far so hes an idiot but not any type of liability.
What's funny about "Vigilante" is his comic book accurate costume in "Peacemaker" makes Adrian look like downhill skier.
I've never read a comic where Vigilante was entertaining...and he's the best character on this show.
Vigilante reminds me of Deadpool in a lot of ways very funny guy
Its because it was a direct ripoff.
@@mymomsbasement69 like Deadpool is a rip off?
I lowkey hope they make a season 2 for peacemaker having him maybe go to Gotham and fight more criminals type of enemies
ty for that. hey, wasn't adrian chase oliver queen's nemesis when he was mayor in the arrowverse?
A good version giving he is a mix of the different versions ( name) , mask/ visor is based off his brother ( Dorian chase ) could be cool if his brother can be an antagonist for season 2.
What if Vigilante (Adrian Chase) was actually training near the spot where Supergirl lost the X-Kryptonite? He’s often working around places like Metropolis or National City, so it wouldn’t be too far-fetched. Imagine the training sight was nearby where Supergirl hid, accidentally dropped or lost the X-Kryptonite...maybe even a Black Kryptonite Cave?
They should honestly do more shows featuring these d/c list superheroes and villains
Vigilante. When DC turned Daredevil into... what? ...Punisherpool?!
I dig it.
Vigilante act like Deadpool... He has some craziness in doing anything
In the 80's, the majority of fans were really young and comics had to come out every month. So yeah, a lot of plots and origins were thin.
In the 2020s most comic fans are young and comics still come out monthly, and in a lot of cases bi-weekly.
@@KeyIssues I should clarify they were young, and not as many were so much older as they are today. And no where near the level of production with staff and mainstream interest.
You deserve more followers!
4:28 a bit late to make that argument when he's already murdered a ton of people Robin 🤦♂️
One of my favorite characters in the show, I hope we see a spin-off show about this Vigilante, he fucking rocks!. Also, being him Adrian Chase, I wish DC could reboot it in the comics to make it more like the show. He is fantastic there.
Vigilante was probably my favorite character in HBO Peacemaker.
Vigilante's costume dessing its simple but pretty solid and the TV show costume looks very good. Doesn't look bad in comparation with Peacemaker awesome uniform.
I know its alot of work. But are gonna continue doing comic book origins of The Suicide Sqaud members
What characters from the Valiant Universe?
Typically we start covering character breakdowns when they are introduced in live action/animation
7:03 hard ass image. Is this a comic cover?! Jesus.
"I'm justice no longer blind"
Damn!
Vigilante seems like an amalgam between punisher and daredevil
In the show he’s basically the ultimate down to clown kind of best friend
Love how everyone was hating on the idea of a peacemaker show, and then it came out and everyone shut their traps…
Didn’t Alan Moore write an issue or two? If so, which one (Or ones .)? He sounds kind of like a Punisher knock-off. He never came back after his death?
I like his goofy attitude in the show, he gives me MINOR-deadpool vibes.
I hope they will establish another Vigilante like Dave Winston to the audience.
I wish DC would release the other Wolfman issues in a paperback. Surely after this show's success, they should. Do one for Peacemaker too.
I think it would be cool if the youthful jubilee vigilante where this joy comes from now becoming vigilante where before he was sad or whatever and then through time the weight of his actions and what horrors he’s seen and even done himself will turn into that comic book serious vigilante. That through unknown hardships faces the vigilante was born giving a sociopath who likes and joyously kills bad guys to slowly degrade into well even more concious.
I used to own the issue vigilante debut in. It was a new teen titans issue
It seemed to me Vigilante is a classic 70s American serial killer in a world where you can be as long as its in the name of justice.
The Vigilante in the Peacemaker series is great!
Cool video but I'm confused. Are Peacemaker and Vigilante the same person?
No, 2 different guys. Peacemaker is Christopher Smith, and Vigilante is Adrian Chase
Surprised that you didn’t mention the Alan Moore issues
the original vigilante was a western comic book character
appeared in action comics
adrian chase was the second vigilante
Is it weird that I was imagining Freddie Stroma's character the whole video?
My theory is in the show vigilante started out like the comics, but then got brain damage from a fight
I loved the intro😂
So... Adrian Chase, aka Vigilante, has the ability to regenerate... as does Wade Winston Wilson, aka Deadpool... dang you, Marvel!
