Agree that Lydia is the cutest goat farmer. You're a lucky, lucky man Jim.
Yes… Yes I am😊
You guys are a trip 😅 ❤ love this channel 😊
😊 thank you
Lydia, summertime in Louisiana sounds like a recipe for some good ol' Cajun Country Livin'! From savoring crawfish boils to soaking up the sun, there's no shortage of fun to be had. And what better time to add to the homestead than during these long, sunny days?
With your zest for life and love for your homestead, each addition is sure to bring even more vibrancy to your corner of Cajun Country. Can't wait to see how you make the most of this summertime adventure!
😊
Comedy and homesteading, should be manadatory! I love you all keep me laughing.
Thank you!😁😄
It's enjoyable to watch you work hard and play hard as y'all are living the American dream!
Thank you Delbert!😄
Glad to see Ladly in the intro. Really missed see'n that little darling in recent videos. Property lookin real nice. y'all take care.
Thank you!
Jim you definitely have a gem!
I’m very lucky!!
I like hearing about all your future plans, sounds like you will be keeping us all entertained for quite some time. Jim you are absolutely right that hat on the world's cutest goat herder is pretty awesome, think you need one for Ladly, so that would have the two best looking goat herders ever 😊.
Thank you Mr. Steve!!
You two do great work always ❤
Thank you so much!
My Great Grandfather born in 1831 is buried at Vernon Parish. He had 37 kids. Folks here in Oklahoma don't understand that back then it was all about Cotton farming. No tractors. Just your kids. It's barely possible to grow a garden some years out here with droughts. But it's plenty warm and wet this year. 0:11 ❤❤
Wow! So many children! But you are right…. That’s how it was done.
Very cool. Goats are the best lawn care and weed control animal that you can have. Enjoyed the video. Good to see y'all got past all of those nasty storms. Now, if we can get past hurricane season we'll be in good shape.
We are hoping we get past the bad hurricanes too! Thank you for watching!
The goats are going to be so excited!!❤❤
Yes!!!
Good morning Lydia and Jim!! This video was a little different and extreemly enjoyable. The first 5 minutes drew me in to the summertime morning and activity and peaked with you both showing your fun and sense of humor as you both cut up and clowned around by the waters edge. It was a lot of fun and very enjoyable. Kudos on the music selection throughout the entire video. The songs were great and fit the activity going on perfectly - very well done. Thank you for the time and effort it took to assemble this video Lydia, it was great! I really like goat, especiall the small ones, so was delighted to hear you were now official "goat farmers". It was great timing that Jim's brother was changing up things over at his place so you had access to the great fencing material for "free 99 as Jim puts it, to repurpose. The way you set it up will work out perfectly to have the 7 + possible babies in, while you are working in the new barn area. You sure worked hard setting the fence posts in that heat and humidity. This week here, it's running 102 - 106 degrees but without the humidity (which I don't care much for 🤪) I'm excited that you are starting the animal area/barn project and look forward to following along as this proceeds ahead. It was nice seeing Ladly, she's so cute and is sure growing up quickly. Y'all have a great and productive week and be safe out there. Larry, Central Valley, Ca.
Thank you Mr. Larry! Always a treat to read your comments!!
Working in the heat is not fun but you make it look easy. I loved watching Ladly with the bird house. Have a great week.
Thank you Mrs Jill!
It’s awesome that Lydia is willing to get in there and work right beside you Jim.
She is such a hard worker! It is unreal!
So you got your brother's hand me downs as a kid, and now you taking the fence hand me down...lol
It's just a little brotherly love ❤️
Exactly. 🫶🫶
I love seeing all the different projects y'all do. The variety is great. Keep mixing it up. I'm old now but you remind me of me and my wife when we were young. My wife is still strong as an ox. But neither of us are as strong as we used to be. We had many adventures like you are having now. Enjoy every success, embrace every hardship, both will come, it's life, live it.
Thank you so much!
Love this video! It's amazing how much y'all get done in such a short span of time. I'm sure it doesn't feel like a short span in that heat! I wish I had half of y'alls energy!! Keep on truckin'! Y'all are gonna be self-sufficient before you know it. I love that you're sharing the ride with all of us! Thank you! 😘
Thank you so much! The heat makes us work faster so we can get out of it quicker! Lol. Thank you for always watching! 🫶
❤❤❤@@CajunCountryLivin
What a wonderful homestead video. Goats, Ladly, Lydia kicking posts, and Jim is a diamond in the rough. And even a virtual dirt doctor. Thanks for making my day better. Now go cool off somewhere
Glad you enjoyed it Gary!!
Nice job guy you have come a long way. Love watching you and I never miss one. I was thinking if you were to put a wheel on the opening end of the gate at the bottom it may help with when you open it
Great idea!
A+ guys!!! And I don't know who come up with having both CCL and The Life in Pines both on the same day, but you won't hear me complain!!! ❤❤😎😎😎
Thank you so much for watching us both!
Thank you for making my Thursday mornings! I love to wake up to a new episode to watch with my morning cuppa ❤ them goats are so cute, I had 1 "normal" size and did he get up to mischief including getting out to enjoy the neighbours gardens 😂
Thank you for watching Kristina! That’s so cute! Well.. I doubt the neighbor didn’t like it, but for you! 😁🥳🐐
6:19 That's a lot of kids.
Yes!😳😳
It took me a couple weeks but I started at the first build episode and here I am. Y’all are amazing!
This may be my favorite video of all time!! I guess I'm a sick old man but I have always loved building fence. We have 7 ac all fenced and cross fenced. I've even put fence where we didn't really need it.😁 As a former goat farmer, I look forward to seeing more of the goats and barn. I will say if ya'll have coyotes like we do here, you may want to include some "hotwire" around the top of that fence. And always remember, goats are escape artists but if your fence will hold water it should hold goats.🥰
Happy that you enjoyed it Mr. Henry!
just a quick TIP Me and my wife put in thousands of feet of fence together and we always push the T post in with the tractor bucket. when the soil is damp they slide in very easily without bending. before I found this out my shoulders were hurting. Give it a try so people can see how easy it is.
We are going to try it out! Thanks!!
@CajunCountryLivin thanks for reading my comment and taking my suggestion. You both remind me of me and my wife on our tinny ranch. Working together. We put a few of our projects on UA-cam also. One video where she welded up some home made bucket forks that we used a lot. Looking forward to more videos your amazing
You guys are lucky to be able to drill post holes in your soil. I tried that on my property with our hard clay, rocky soil and it just bounced around so much it looked like I used a backhoe to dig it.
The show is called Extreme makeover with Ty Pennington. I love that show. Can't wait to see the palace for the goats. Love all your videos.
YES!!! Thanks it!! Thank you!
Moni lawn mowers. You all have a lot of fun and do some hard work. Keep those smiles bright.😊
Thank you!!😄
Watching you have fun and being funny was a lot of fun to watch😊
Wishing you success with the goat setup.
Thank you Jim!🫶🥳
Use the bucket on the front-end loader to push the tee posts in. I have 4 post drivers and they have been retired. 😅
Great idea Chuck!
Lydia is the BEST! A good, strong, and beautiful woman. I love your teamwork! Awesome role models for your daughter. ❤️
Thank you so so much!🫶😍
Hey y'all, Thanks for sharing another awesome video to breakup this rainy week we're having in s. Florida. It's nice you were able to pickup everything for the fence and a shelter. The goats will be very happy.
Hey there John! Hope y’all get some dry weather soon!
Just watching the gnats fly around the camera makes me want to start swatting at them. What do ya all use to try to keep them at bay? Another great video!! Love Lad's birdhouse and ya all's teamwork. It's such a pleasure to watch this homestead come together. Ya all are amazing. :)
Thank you so much! We usually use a mixture of alcohol and vanilla extract to keep them away.
I love the fact that y'all live the creed "One man's trash is another man's treasure." Way to upcycle!! I wish we had the soil you have. Driving t-posts on our land is an exercise in futility. There are so many rocks, not even a gas powered driver can sink them much of the time. Even a tractor auger can't dig in some places.
Oh that rocky soil is tough! Thank goodness we don’t have to deal with that here!
I watch a lot of these homesteading channels and am amazed ot how many of them are doing stuff they learned from watching you guys keep on inspiring people
Yay!!! A beautiful area to put the goats in!!!!
😊
Congratulations on your new Goats And Happy Father's Day Jim When zit Gets Here On Sunday
Thank you!
I'm definitely envious of folks that have soft soil and flat land. Putting up fencing on rolling land with a soil made up of rocks, boulders, and clay is NOT fun! You can keep your hurricanes and tornados though! 😬
Can't wait to see what you come up with for the goat shelter! What an incredible find!!
When did ya'll put up a pool?
I'm impressed by you guys, Lydia is a hard worker... Be safe.
Thank you John!
Great video, glad yall are getting some needed R&R! Yall r getting great with taping,Enjoy yalls videos!
Thanks so much!!!
Wow.... This video was great. Lydia, you look absolutely amazing and that tan had you glowing. wow 🥰
Hey thanks!😁😄
Great job. Self-sufficiency is it , the end game. Infrastructure is everything. I have 410 t-post to install for our perimeter fence. I think I am going to teach my wife how operate the front end loader to push the post in, while I hold them straight . Man, the nats are horrible. Y’all’s place is looking good.
Wow!! That’s awesome! Such a great idea!! Maybe if y’all start at 4:00am the heat won’t get y’all too bad! lol.
I get up at 4:00 am everyday, even when I am off from my Day job, which pays for all this Homestead lifestyle we are trying to live. On weekends we try to get all our work done before midday, never happens. Is that the Calcasieu river or the Sabine River you’re property is backed up to.
GREAT song in beginning, running the boat
Thank you!
It’s not how fast but how well. Working to do a good job and proud of what you see. It’s how long the project will last. Few will research the internet and ask questions and follow what they think is right
Great teamwork guys! Lydia seems to be tough as nails Jimbo, you better keep her around 😂. Ladley was too cute in then boat in her outfit
Thank you Terence! Lydia is definitely a tough, hard worker 😊
Hey Lydia I see the new guy in the posh clothes didn't hang around long glad to see cc back in his natural habitat. Love the video makes me smile when I watch these doing my blood collection job I work for the NHS in England. National health service .Best wishes to you all
Yes! My favorite shorts… that camo is awesome😂 those other ones are nice too
😂😂😂😂
Love goats they have a lot of personality.
Yelling, climbing, and falling asleep while standing up is particularly funny to watch! What time is ? Kill of Hill time Yah!
They sure do!!
I love how much fun you incorporate into your work. Being able to let go for a change is good for the soul 😜
Thanks guys good luck with your container shop and the goat pin! Kirk in Lake Charles sending prayers and positive vibes to yall and your families! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻🙋🏼✌🏻✌🏻 yall can always add a small cable and a small turnbuckle from about 2/3 down the gate going to the post in a eyebolt! That should adjust take up the weight on the gate so it doesn’t drag, but I’m not taking anything away from Jim because he’s probably already figured that out! Yall take care and stay safe, plenty water and please stay hydrated my friends! 👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻🙋🏼
Thank you for the tip Kirk and thank you for watching!
@@CajunCountryLivin plus if it’s a swinging gate, you might want to mount a wheel on it to keep it from dragging Jim! I put wheels on a heavy wooden gate because I know later on it would be sagging and I’d be trying to lift it up to open it every time I wanted to go through it! I enjoyed your video and y’all take care over there and watch those mosquitoes, they’re already out in the evenings! 👌🏻🙋🏼🙋🏼✌🏻✌🏻
Lydia you are one tough cookie! Can’t wait for the next video! ❤
Someone had already commented on this, but use the bucket on your loader to push those t posts into the ground.
Good idea!! Thanks!!
WAY back when I was a tiny youngster, my father had a 14 1/2' trihull with a 40 horsepower Merc on it. And back when I was considerably smaller, it would easily pull me out of the water on skis. Not sure if I would even be able to ski a few decades later, but I think the current weight would require a lot more horsepower.
Thanks, y'all! Now I need a "goat rodeo" video!
The 40 merc on our boat is a 2-stroke 59ci. I put 90hp fiber reeds and stops in it. I am confident that I could get you up on those skis Mr. Ken! 😁
You guys did an amazing job making short order of that job!
Thank you!
Jim has got some smooth moves.....lol. Great job you guys!!
He sure does!!🕺🕺🕺
Happy Fathers Day Jim and thank you Lydia great music thanks for sharing i loved it
Thank you Jim! Thank you for watching!
Yall recall that TV show Sanford and Sons? Might be aging myself. Can only laugh thinking how anyone on your road looked at your haul as passed by. Been there done that back in the day. One man’s trash is another’s man’s treasure. 🤣. You guys are great!
😂😂😂that’s right Bobby!
Lydia can definitely hold her own it’s great Jim you have a strong partner to do this with
💪💪💪
Y’all wear me out just watching 😂 Great video ! Hard working folks 😊
Thanks so much😂😀
Ahhhh love u guys!!! Your great!!! Love the dancing!!!
Thank you!!!
Always enjoying your vlog you and your husband are amazing have a blessing day
Thank you for watching!
I often wondered how many gators you had around your little area. That one episode when your dog followed you into the water I was quite worried for him.. watch those male goats when they get older around the little one because they like to believe there mountain rams.. you could plant a bunch of lavender and lemon grass around your place it would cut down on the amount of Mosquitoes. Especially around your pond area. Great video loved the mixture of work and play. With the landing of the post hammer I give Jim 10 for the landing.😊
We definitely have to keep a close eye out. We will definitely have to look into those grasses that you mentioned!
You guys are doing a fantastic job. Love you sense of humor and your videos.
Love watching your ever changing videos
Thank you Larry!
Your daughter is having a good time. Plus you got a life vest cudios
Thank you John!
I'm sorry folks!! As someone that lives in E. Texas and completely understands the heat they are dealing with. I just don't think I'd be driving T-post by hand. Especially if I had access to a tractor such as the one they have!! Hydrologic's for the win!! But that's just me. I'm 50 with a blown out lower back, neck, and both knees.
Just gotta be careful due to the T-post being used. You hit a hard spot in the dirt and you'll bend that T-post like a pretzel!!
Y'all be safe out there!!
Y'all need a couple of more projects. Let me do some thinkin'. I'll get back to you. 😁 Thanks for the update!
HA. we sure do….NOT. 😂😂
I just saw my first video. The dry pour concrete is a game changer! Cant wait to try it! Ty!
@CajunCountryLivin' Hello Jim and Lydia thank you for sharing the videos. I love em.❤ i thought i would recommend if you didn't or don't do it ? Too take a cresent wrench ~the hole on the handle if it will go over the( " TOP" metal rod) on wooden post where you hang the gate & If turn the top one down ok? If cresc3nt wrench doesnt fit over it just use a box end wrench to turn it downward l3ave the bottom fastener on the gate post pointing up though & LOOSEN the TOP HINGE on your gate so it falls down freely ok? Then hang your gate on bottom fastener on wood gate post have Lydia lift up on the other end of gate side to open with until you can slide the HINGE PART upto the TOP ROD of WOODEN POST then tighten up hinge on the gate once its Tighten the gate CAN'T BE LIFTED OFF THE WOODEN POST OK? Because it won't take much for a goat to get horns into gate rubbing its head scratching on it to lift it off of wooden post ok? And your gate will be more solid if you install it that way =《ON THE WOODEN GATE POST THE BOTTOM GATE HANGER METAL ROD PO8NTS UPWARDS TO HANG ON IT & TOP GATE HANGER THE METAL ROD POINTS DOWN & JUST LOOSEN THE TOP HINGE ON METAL GATE SO AFTER YOU HANG THE GATE ON THE BOTTOM FASTENER YOU CAN SLIDE THE TOP HINGE ON THE GATE UPTO THE TOP WOODEN GATE FASTENER ROD AND TIGHTEN IT OK》 just my opinion 😉
Also Jim & Lydia by tightening or loosening the Top gate fastener on wooden post side will raise, lower, or Level your gate however is best to function properly okay 👍
Great tip! Thank you!
@@CajunCountryLivin Your Welcome & Thank You Jim & Lydia for all your vids I love em ❤️

The show was extreme home makeover!
Yes!!!! That’s the one!
Part of the reason you live the lifestyle you do is so you can "LIVE" the lifestyle you do. You're not loafing you're building family bonds and memories. I have to say, Jim strikes me more as Cajun than "Goat Roper". BTW My cousin has around 300 Goats. He says the trick to having Goats is to know you can't build a fence that will keep goats in. You have to make where the goats are more appealing than anywhere else. Then they don't want to leave. Great Pyrenes and AkBash are great guardian dogs for them.
Great music selection, again.
Thank you Charley!
Looking good. I have spend a lot of time on a t-post pounder. Recently my daughter rented a gas powered post pounder. I did not even know they existed but the work great. You can also push in t-post with the front end loader on a tractor or skid steer. When we built the hitching posts for my daughter we pushed in 3 1/2 inch pipe in with the hoe on a big Case back hoe.
Nothing beats a country store.😊. Never know what you might find…
Yes!😉😄
that was Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. that was a cool show
Yes!!
it's so much easier to push those T posts in with the loader.
Good idea! Thanks
@@CajunCountryLivin many years me and another young guy put up about 500 feet of fence for our boss, we used his crawler loader... all the posts were the exact height and very straight,, we only ruined one post when we hit a rock.
Now the goats can play "King of the Hill"! Nice thinking!
Yes!!!
Yall always seem to be up to something. I dont know how you keep it all straight. Yall also give me tics with my OCD 🤣🤣 Yall seem to be starting something new every week, Id go crazy. Its always entertaining watching what yall get into though. c'mon Lydia... "poisonous" That nope rope was non-venomous. 🤣 I kid, I kid... Love all these shenanigans and looks like you put in great work again. Cant wait to see the lil goats enjoying their new pen. Have a fantastic week!!
