Thanks for all the help man. I watched some of your Fuji, Canon, and Sony camera videos and now I needed help with what computer to use and your videos came up again. So, I had to subscribe since you've helped me more than you know. Thanks again man. Wish you all the best
Please do the video on upgrading ram. I'm going to most likely purchase the Imac and I would have no idea what i'm doing. haha. So a video like that is needed for me! I know there are some other people who have done them but the more videos I see before doing it helps me out a lot!
So why do you use the SSD? I was pricing mine out today and happened across your video. I can get the 1tb ssd on my 27 inch Mac for an extra 200. So the external one would save me about $40, but why do that vs 1tb on the Mac itself? Probably a total noob question, but wanted to see why so I can understand. Thanks!!
great video. I was wondering what you recommend for cleaning your iMac screen.. what kind of spray and cloth? Ive been looking and I cant find a specific type to use. Also you know of any good dust protectors for your screen when you're not using ur Mac..? thanks!
This is a very nice video! When apple pulled their DVD super-drive out of the imac line and later redesigned the mac mini in 2010, I became a big fan of the mac mini. Also, I agree with you 100 percent on three points which are as follows: 1) select a keyboard that is just right for you (as for myself prefer apple's vintage "white" keyboard which includes a full number key pad); 2) select a mouse/track pad that works best for you (prefer to use a "white" USB toggle mouse from Targus; and 3) please make sure to keep your original box because the mac mini is also a very portable system.
I am ran into your video and I am glad I did. You might have helped sort out my audio issues when being on conference calls. Let me ask you: you use you Audio Technica as your headsets and your Rode NT Mini as your mic. Is that how you are set up? Thank you and good luck!!!
@BeggProductions Thanks for your info! I think i will order one with the new 2020 iMac. I wonder why there are so few videos about the trackpad on youtube though...
Another good option for plain ole backup drives is waiting for the sale of the 5tb or 8tb drives on Amazon. The 5tb WD elements is a 2.5 external drive so it’s more convenient and sometime you can buy those for 99 bucks. The 8tb drives from WD or Seagate can be had for only 130 usd. Not the drives I will take for on the but perfect for archiving large files and backing stuff up. I usually buy a pair so I can mirror them.
I'd like to see a port replicator that is heavy, I mean 20lbs or at least something that will stay on the desk. Velcro doesn't work, tried it, it just rips right off. I have the MX Master (2) and I love it (except for the side buttons that keep tempting me to push them). I've however started to like the Apple mouse mostly for the gestures. I want to pick up the Microphone though, looks good.
I don't get why 'everyone' wants a keyboard that makes a noise and that you have to reach up to use. Anyway, is there a fairly low-cost dock that does a few USB A ports and an SD slot, but also has a *proper cable*? All the reasonably priced ones I've seen seem to be for laptops, ie they have a short cable that doesn't reach the desk when you plug it into an iMac!
Thanks for your video...very informative. So, to make sure I understood correctly, you actually work from the t7 directly, even editing videos, and is as fast as the internal drive in the 2020 imac?
Reportedly if you place the new ram in the slot 1-2 and fill the slots 3-4 with the original ram sticks then it’ll run @ the higher clock speed of the new sticks.
Looking to purchase my first iMac, ever. Do you think the base model $2299 27” (i7 10th gen, 512gb ssd, Radeon Pro 5500 XT) would be good enough (after upgrading the ram to 32gb) for heavy photo editing, and some light video editing? I’ve been using nothing but Windows PCs for ever... Thanks!
I wouldn't get a dock for the iMac unless I needed the extra ports like a DisplayPort or HDMI. I can see how having a dock is more convenient but unlike the Macbook and Macbook Pro that only comes with USB Type C ports, the iMac comes with all the ports people will need. It is not a big deal to turn the iMac around or get up from the chair to reach those ports.
Love your videos, watch them all. Really. But. Same five accessories in every video, granted you trust and believe in them so I get it but maybe shake those suggestions up a bit going forward. Otherwise keep the content coming, love the Melt shirt too. I'm from Cleveland so, respect! Have a good one, Gary!
I always get confused when everyone says they work off the T7 SSD, what about program files that can only be installed on the macos (my biggest problem with music production vst's)
I am planning on getting the 27 inch iMac I am going to get the core i7 and upgrade the ram myself to 64gb and keep the storage at 512gb I got a NAS for my storage!
I am an older lady and I wish I could figure this stuff out,,if I buy a that PC I want I have to take apart my old PC and put this one together I have no Ideal how to take apart and where do I plug it in? So confuisng,,my young people live 300 miles away
If you can only use one of the machines you’ve reviewed so far as your main video editing system for a month, which would it be? (Just interested to see what you or any1 else would pick)
I love my new 2020 iMac but I prefer to use my bluetooth M590 logic mouse with my iMac compared to the Magic Mouse, the Magic Mouse is awful for video and graphic editing.
I just died laughing when you pulled out the Presonus speakers. I'm an audio engineer, and they are GREAT speakers for standard audio. There's just a joke in the industry that Presonus is what people have no clue what they are doing buy. And you admitted it, it was just funny to see in a video.
Apple cares more for looks and aesthetics than functionality. 1) can't use that apple mouse and charge it at the same time because the charge port is on the underside. Not that big a deal to have a port at the top(like most wired mouses) or the bottom. 2) Your points on that 2020 Mac are all on the back, you still have them, so it's not like you got rid of them, you just moved them to a less accessible location so you could have the front "pristine" and flush.
Just be careful that ppl don't break into your car while you are traveling with your computer. We were moving and had ours stolen. FindMy saved us. It finally popped up a few weeks after we lost it. Called the police and they went to the house and got it back.
If you have a mac right now, never buy a new one for 2 years. Because the Apple company plans to dispose of the last remaining safes as if they were attractive. Apple company, which switched from PPC processor to intel processor in 2006, will leave intel at once, just as it abandoned macs using PPC processors. Wait until the ARM processor Macintosh iMac-Macbook-Macbook pro and MacBook Air come out.
Man, you really make quality videos with quality contents.

@@kerzflash2024 Oh because it's none of your business...
Apple should offer a small mirror that you can put on the table to see the backside ports. Let's say for $299.
nah for $999
Nothing Interesting for 999 it should be very durable and have stainless steel.
$1,800.99 with lights

Why clutter your desk? Simplicity is best.
Lmao the intro killed me. LOOKING CRISPY.
Ha! Sometimes we forget what we start talking about 🤣
Bro, Thanks for keeping your videos simple. Damn! I need that dock!
It’s incredibly versatile 👍
Yes, but it has ports … on the back??
Did you actually lay it down for the thumbnail? Commitment, lol.
Heck yes! I’m dedicated 🤣
The Everyday Dad Hey I am impressed by the guts, I would have used photoshop

The Logitech is one of the best things I bought after the Bose QC35 :)
Great video man
Would love to see that video where you add in the ram. Do ittt lol.
Literally off over to Amazon right now to buy one of those huge desk mats! Great video! 😀

What do you think of getting the Magic Trackpad instead of the Magic Mouse?
@BeggProductions Thanks for your info! I think i will order one with the new 2020 iMac. I wonder why there are so few videos about the trackpad on youtube though...
the Keychron mechanical keyboards are actually for macs and windows and have keycaps that you can switch between each os, command to windows

Wow I just bought that huge leather mouse pad because of your video what a fantastic idea!
Do you like the regular iMac or have you tried making the tv mount
really appreciate this video, thanks dude
Thanks for your video...very informative. So, to make sure I understood correctly, you actually work from the t7 directly, even editing videos, and is as fast as the internal drive in the 2020 imac?
Great review. The Cherry Mx blue switches are clickier on the keyboard but Love the desk mat. Love the hub. Love the mouse.
We would like to see you upgrade ram especially since I don't know how to. Also can you give us the ram that you purchased.
An external SSD is a good choice. The internal SSD is soldered (!!!) on board so if it dies or you need a larger capacity...
Good old Apple making these things more like an iPhone and unserviceable
The CalDigit is a great dock. No regrets on my part to have spent the extra $ to enjoy its rich feature set and quality components.
Thanks for this video, very usefull
By the way i really like your wood desk !!
Would you give me the reference where i could get the same pls ?...
I use an Envoy Pro EX from OWC as my working drive. Not much larger than the T7, but Thunderbolt 3 so over twice the performance of the T7.
What is theT7? A Samsung model of SSD?
Hi! Great video... I seen your 32GB (2x16GB) memory ... is it possible to get 1x32GB ? Because I already have the 2x16GB = 32GB
how many computers do you own? currently. thanks.

What is the spec of your iMac 🖥 and why ? Ty

Why did you not get the 10gbps Ethernet? I I didn’t either but I was wondering if I should switch my order before they send it
I wish I had, it’s just a good future proofing step that doesn’t cost that much.
The Everyday Dad is it worth canceling and reordering for? Also is that necessary to use with a RAID?
D B yes reorder now before they shipped it
the keyboard has the windows layout though? how does it work with macos
