Today we lost Mike. Carlos if I knew how to give a standing ovation on youtube you'd be getting one right now! You saved the day. RIP MIKE NESMITH - you are loved and missed!
So deeply sad for me too, I cannot even imagine the grief of those who were his family. All four so sweet, handsome and committed to their performances, every time.
Rest in Peace, Papa Nez, Peter Tork, and Davy Jones. You are all missed dearly. And God Bless Micky Dolenz, the lone Monkee, keeping The Monkees' legacy alive
Really moving and lovely. Only a true fan and fine person could have done this. The work you did to get the right singers, the vaudville bits, the guitar solos, and even Micky hitting the cymbal on time with a song 50 YEARS on is great and moving. Respect.
Rest in peace. Davy Jones, Peter Tork and Mike Nesmith. I emailed Micky Dolenz in December and told him that I really enjoyed getting to see him and Mike Nesmith at the Texas Trust CU theater in October!!!!
Bittersweet to stumble upon this superbly edited video while seeking solace on this sad day-December 10/2021-after learning of Michael Nesmith’s passing. Only Micky remains as Davy, Peter and Mike are now on the other side.
Wish Nez still had his '67 (or even '97) voice for this song. However like the aged Frank Sinatra he can still plumb a great song like this to its deepest depths.
Carlos, I’ve been watching this video on a loop for the last 48hrs since Mike’s passing. I appreciate the work you put in making this, you have no idea how much this has helped. Thank you very much.
Watching showbiz Davy, leading them up the staircase and then watching them say goodbye to him. Watching Peter's ethereal effervescence throughout. I'm crying. All such magical boys. Thank you for this this most beautiful romp to this magnificent song. I probably should do something else with my day, but I will probably just keep watching this xxx
@@boellinger that would be amazing. They do such a great job on this track (why on earth were they not singing together like this long, long before this?) and you have done them justice. What I also love is that, watching these scenes to this new track, you notice things you never did before (like, I never noticed how tentatively Mike took those stairs compared to the others for example, bless him. I notice different little, tiny details each time.) And, as many have said, you match things just right. I love how Pete on the piano shoots a look at Mike, just as the heavy guitar kicks in. And you made Davy look like he was actually playing the guitar at last lol! Are you a film maker? xxx
@@ncb6487 haha I noticed that too (Mike now and then watching his steps while walking up the stairs). Yes I am. :) you can check my channel, there are some short films and a trailer for my recent feature film (released last year).
The 'Monkees' comedy series; use to appear on KBHK TV channel 44, back then during the mid 70s. They were shown in afternoon hours, such as like 3:00 PM.
“And if I could make it home by Tuesday That's if I could make it home at all I'm heading out in the sunshine, babe Feeling to your knees Nobody else but my own sweet self Where we go Do you know When we go High in a rooftop, singing a song s of angels all sing along It's late and I'm scared, so please don't be long I'm still not sure where I came from Feeling low Gone are the doubts of clouds I had before Gone are the blinkers 'round my eyes I'm heading out in the sunshine, babe Feeling to your knees Nobody else but my own sweet self Where we go Did you know (old friends say, oh he's lost his way) Where we go (but they can't see what I can see) Did you know (oh, I'll never come back) Where we go (I'm heading out in the sunshine, baby) Do you know Where we go High in a rooftop, singing a song s of angels all sing along It's late and I'm scared, so please don't be long I'm still not sure where I came from Feeling low..” Songwriters: Noel Gallagher / Paul Weller
The scene where they're saying goodbye to Davy....Destroyer. Love the man hug with Davy and Peter. I saw an interview with Peter tearing up talking about Davy. I'm still crazy about those Monkees. Great video, Peter exceptionally handsome in the tuxedo.
Good Times is such a fun record. The Monkees went Indie pop; and, it really is a joy to listen to. Mike sounds so good on this song, which honestly, sounds like Oasis in their heyday. There are so Many things that I could say about Papa Nez; but, I'll make it brief. He is my favorite. And he is with two of his three musical brothers now.
@TheMonkees please work out a deal with this filmmaker and let this be the official video to this song. It is perfect, for a perfect song. Absolutely captures the spirit of the Monkees.
Love it, from the syncing to the theme changes to the poignant symbolic "passing on" of Davy. This is the best video from the LP I've seen yet, including the "official" comic book one. Bravo!!!
do you mind if I try an edit? Keeping your edit, just playing with it. You'll get full credit as author and veto rights, or better, just post it on yours
Damn near perfect. And you managed to use my favourite bit of romp footage (those uber-groovy Monkee boots in slow motion) with my favourite section of the song :) Though the whole song is also better than ANYTHING else this year :))
Today we lost Mike. Carlos if I knew how to give a standing ovation on youtube you'd be getting one right now! You saved the day. RIP MIKE NESMITH - you are loved and missed!
Thank you 💔
So deeply sad for me too, I cannot even imagine the grief of those who were his family. All four so sweet, handsome and committed to their performances, every time.
Mike Nesmith died in December but it so sad for us monkee fans
Written by paul weller and noel gallagher wjo the yanks will be oblivious too
his last performance was just weeks earlier. he was happy and jovial, and he tearfully told the crowd how much his career as a monkee meant to him.
2024 and I am still listening to the Monkees .
As we should 😉
Rest in Peace, Papa Nez, Peter Tork, and Davy Jones. You are all missed dearly. And God Bless Micky Dolenz, the lone Monkee, keeping The Monkees' legacy alive
i miss the monkees there will never be a better band then them
The neat thing was that last week Sunday MeTV 55.1 showed episodes of the Monkees tv show all day long!!!! I really enjoyed getting to see those!!!!!!
RIP Davy, Peter & Nez. What an awesome band!!
the monkees, gallagher and weller cant get much better than that
Really moving and lovely. Only a true fan and fine person could have done this. The work you did to get the right singers, the vaudville bits, the guitar solos, and even Micky hitting the cymbal on time with a song 50 YEARS on is great and moving. Respect.
Thanks for your words. Glad people can see the love I put into this. It helps that is a great track too!
@@boellinger We said goodbye to Peter Tork on Thursday, February 21, 2019.
What a treat to hear this song oh how we loved these boys it will never be another band like them in this lifetime what a group they were
Absolute classic. Sounds sixties! Timeless. James
Its a day after Peter left us and I broke down watching Davy and Peter hug in this.
AlwaysaMystery Yes 💔
RIP Peter Tork. Thanks for the music and the memories.
I hereby second your motion! Thank you, Peter and Davy!
God bless Michael Nesmith who passed away today on December 10, 2021.
RIP Mike Nesmith. A wonderful talent .
Nez is now "out in the sunshine, baby." ❤ this so much. And also huge props to Noel Gallagher & Paul Weller for being true fans and writing this.
Thank you for this. It made me feel like a kid again to see them looking like this while performing this song.
Rest in peace. Davy Jones, Peter Tork and Mike Nesmith. I emailed Micky Dolenz in December and told him that I really enjoyed getting to see him and Mike Nesmith at the Texas Trust CU theater in October!!!!
Wow! So fortunate you got to see them!
Noel, you did us all proud, thanks for your gift, we salute you!
Micky should of done a few songs with Grace Slick he's got such a psychedelic voice.
Bittersweet to stumble upon this superbly edited video while seeking solace on this sad day-December 10/2021-after learning of Michael Nesmith’s passing.
Only Micky remains as Davy, Peter and Mike are now on the other side.
Reality bittersweet as at the time, I did it with Davy’s passing in mind. Now it’s even more emotional to see it again.
This is what I always thought the Monkees would sould like today, what a great song.
I love this song !! thanks for the memories boys !!! Rockin Hall of Fame this year !! 2024
Great addition to the Monkees catalog -- this song is a classic!
captured the spirit of the monkees perfectly
Great use of vintage clips for this modern track!!!
Wish Nez still had his '67 (or even '97) voice for this song. However like the aged Frank Sinatra he can still plumb a great song like this to its deepest depths.
I gotta say that cert where Micky,Mike and Peter saying goodbye to Davy Jones , thats something else, beyond the door he leaves us .RIP Davy Jones
Great and sad

It has helped me too, tbh. Also thank you for your nice comment.
What a tune noel and mr weller wrote..it dosnt seem out of place..this could have been written in the 60s.....genius....

Putting this together was emotional for me too, so thank you for the lovely comment and I’m happy you like it xx
@@boellinger I LOVE it. Have you shared on Micky or Nez' pages. I am sure it will touch their hearts too xxx

The Monkees had some top notch help on this one. Great song.

They are terrific together! I loved that time in life
Omg.. thats so sad .. 2:17 ist like they say goodbye to Davy for the last time ever .. rip Davy
yeah really sad-- got me i gotta say-- especially now im gettin older--
It actually guts me.
It was prophetic but with such a scene, it is predictable that it would eventually be.
Its official, I was born in the wrong generation
Watching that scene gets to my heart. I know that they are acting but it just gets too real...RIP Manchester Cowboy...
Great mix of new with the classic show.. love it!
The work that went into making this video truly is worthy of Kudos... great job feels just like a Monkees romp from TV
Thank you, that was the idea!

I remember when this video was made only Davy had passed, and they say goodbye to him in the video around 2:12, now only Micky remains.
First time seeing this, and I think it is very good. In fact, I love it!
Beautiful song. Both voice and beat remind Noel' songs. In Oasis.
If I squint really hard, it almost looks like he's actually synching the right words. Seriously though, this is beautiful.
Hahaha I did the same while editing it. Thank you.
I prefer Zippy the Pinhead's declaration that "Their mouths look like little oysters!"
If they *were* 'roids, he would've been named *Clench* Cargo...

bahahahaha
Great song great video Mike's my favorite
Rest in Peace Davy and Peter
Love this so much!!! It’s so classic Monkees!!!!!
This is the GREATEST thing. I come constantly to watch it. I live this song and love this video for it. I cry at the Davy leaving every time.

Aaron Collins glad you enjoyed it 😊👍🏼
I love how you put them mouthing some of the words, as well as them singing "high on a rooftop" as they are headed up the stairs. Great job! :)

Very good job! My favorite part was when they were walking along the roof just as Micky sang "High on a rooftop." :)
Ha! I'm glad you picked up on that.
that part was a bit "say 'coffee', see a coffee cup" for me:). But really, great job man! one of the best songs on the new album.

This is beautifully edited. Video pairs with the song perfectly
Thank you.
Now we just wait for the Weller Gallagher collaboration...because if this is any kind of gauge, it'll be mega.
C Synch I would like to hear Noel Gallagher and Paul Weller perform the song together.
This will work nicely until the guys make an official video! Well done!!!

Please do a tribute to Papa Nez. May he rest in eternal peace.
Fantastic!
Wow! Very nice!
Thank you
Excellent!
I'm kind of floored that a song with this title was written in the mid-60's. A side effect of the Infinite Improbability Drive, no doubt.
