@@ExplorerJust I bought the rocket side pouches but those haven't been fully useful for my needs. I did recently order the predator side pockets, which I think will be more useful for backpacking, but haven't gotten those yet. Looking forward to it, though! I was surprised with how good I felt with this pack. I deal with chronic back pain and I went out with heavier weight and still felt like a million bucks while out with this pack.
Excellent! The @karrimorsf Sabre 45 is an absolute workhorse as you will no doubt discover as you enjoy your adventures with it! Did you get PLCE side pouches too?
Seems like the shoulder strap have been sprea d out a little compared to a 6 yr old review I saw before yours. I'm in Australia and thinking ordering one of these. Might go the Molld panels rather than 12 ltr pockets. What are your thoughts on the shoulder straps? Wider now ? They seem better now Cheers from Oz Neil
Hey Neil! Thanks for dropping in. As far as I'm aware, the Sabre 45 hasn't changed so the straps are the same. The straps on the Patrol 45 are slightly different, m so could it have been that? I've found the Sabre 45 shoulder strap to comfortable in normal use (fitted with PLCE side pockets and packed for a couple of days away) If you don't mind me asking, where will you be ordering your pack from? Drop me a line if I can help in any way Just
The only place I can see to order here in Oz, apart from ebay is Sport Direct. I wanted to get a "hands on " look and try one on , but it's impossible here. I only asked about the straps because 2 different reviews 6 yrs apart, seem to be slightly wider now. Also, on yours where you have the carribeener clipped on seems to be a webbing tube, and others seem to be a loop of maybe 15 mm braided rope. Don't like that. You can see why I want to get an actual look at one Cheers mate 👍 Neil@ExplorerJust
@@desmo5514 Hey! One retailer in Oz that I've recommended before is Delta ( www.deltafootwear.com.au ). I've check in with them and they don't currently have any Sabre 45 in olive (a very large military contract has just soaked them all up), but they can get other colours. If you want olive the ETA on delivery (as it stands now) is around April. I can confirm that the design of the pack hasn't changed in any way in the last six years, so I'd be interested to find out what video you spotted it on. Some guys have their packs altered to suit them: I haven't come across anyone changing the shoulder straps, but it could be. My crab was clipped on to the 'rope' on the hip belt which was, as an alpine pack, originally designed for this purpose. I usually use it to store a few crabs, and to clip on my dog if I want to be hands free!
Just a quick tip I've replaced the shock cord at the top with a long spare boot lace as you never know and it's very versatile for other things and it does the same job as the elastic one provided
Hi - thanks for dropping in! I haven't adjusted the 'F-Format Frame' in my Sabre 45 at all, because I haven't felt the need. If you do need to adjust it to get a better fit for your back - which is what it was intended for - then I recommend doing it in small increments. I've adjusted them before and use chalk to mark the 'bend points', bending the frame a little at a time over the edge of a table. If you get stuck drop me a line and we can hook up for a Zoom chat to talk you through it. Good luck! Just
@@ExplorerJust brilliant thanks. To be honest I haven't felt the need to alter mine either. I've not fully loaded the rucksack yet with side pods etc and I've only been doing single overnighters but I was just curious about the method of fitting the back piece. Thanks
Hey David! Thanks for dropping in with that brilliant question. The other colours are manufactured using KS100e which is a durable 1000 denier nylon fabric with excellent tear and abrasion resistance. A waterproof elastomeric PU coating is included on the reverse and it's finished with a durable water-repellent on the outer face. The Multicam materials used are strictly controlled by the company which has the patents and manufactures them, so the Sabre 45 in this pattern is manufactured using a lighter weight 500 denier material which is still exceptionally strong and meets the requirements of many military contracts around the world (some even go as low as 300D). The 500D material is also infra-red reflective. I hope this helps, but if you'd like to talk it through in more detail then please do drop me an email - address on my website justforthechalenge.com (I don't post my address on here because it gets picked up by bots and spam!)
I recently got this pack and it's quickly become my favorite
I'm not surprised! Did you purchase the @KarrimorSF PLCE side pouches too?

An interesting idea. DO you use an actual lace, or paracord?
@@ExplorerJust just 180cm long boot laces
Have you any tricks or tips to mould the back panel/frame? Or is not really necessary to do this?

shame you didn't show us how easy the PLCE bits are to put on and off.
