Hey mate, what drew you to the gyrfalcon vs the falcon 3 I only ask as iam in two minds myself. I own the falcon 2 and even though it's a incredible bag I find it just too small, I recently bought the Tasmanian tiger raid pack mk3 which is closer to a bushcraft open top style bag and being 52lt is nice, but I prefer the compartmentalisation of the falcon range
Hey mate, I prefer the layout of the Gyrfalcon over the Falcon 3. The main thing is the versatility of being able to remove the bottom pouch to accommodate a bedroll/ tent which allows me to do lightweight overnighters. However, if you already own a Falcon 2 and a TT MK2 Raid you may find the Gyrfalcon a bit lacking as its only 16ltrs bigger than the Falcon 2. As always, it's just personal preference. Late to the conversation. I bought this pack back in 2020 when things started to look crazy around the world. I bought it for tactical applications and found that it became great for camping aswell. I am a minimalist packer so I am able to get a three day load,including solo tent. Super durable. I don’t have any experience with other brands, but this is solid.
I’ve now taken this bag on many multi day hikes including Kilimanjaro. Phenomenal quality and not heavy for the construction
