I see a lot of people in the comments saying they've been clean. I want to take this opportunity to say I'm so proud of you! I know I'm just a stranger on the internet but whether it's been one day, a week, a month, or years, I'm so proud of you! Addiction is scary and it's hard and no one is right or wrong in this kind of situation. I'm so glad you're still here and that you're doing what best for you!
That goes for those of you who had to leave someone who was fighting addiction. You're not a bad person and you did what you needed to do. I'm proud of you for keeping yourself safe too.
Be safe out there and don't be afraid to ask for help.

Your word's, have touched my heart. This is such an extremely painful subject for me. I lost my sister almost 10 years ago to her addiction. I had to walk away from her bcuz I was newly sober, & the things her addiction had her saying & doing was making me close to relapse. Unfortunately, I had to say goodbye while she was lying in a hospital bed on life support. Many regrets and a pain that'll never leave me. I feel like I failed her. I'll have 11 years clean this year & this song ripped my soul wide open. Joyner, is a master at showing both sides of the perspectives, in an articulate way that will make you look at both sides of the coin. Jellys voice is incredible and so haunting. What an amazing song.

This comment is great and it means a lot bc I'm clean 10yrs and really proud of myself but I'm realizing I need to walk away from someone I really love bc he can't stay sober for even a year he always gets close. But 7yrs of that (almost 8) it's just too much and I feel really horrible to walk away bc I wouldn't want someone to do that to me but it's really changing me as a person and I don't like it.

People should check out the actor, portraying the addict, cuz he's an amazing musician & lyricist, too. He & Joyner grew up in Worcester, MA. Mic DeVine, the actor, put out a phenomenal song 4 years ago to raise awareness about how bad Worcester is when it comes to OD's & deaths. People have been saying that they can't find Mic on here, or his song, 'Way Down We Go'. So, I figured I'd try & make it a lil easier by putting the actors song & Joyners in a public PL. I hope people give it a listen, cuz it definitely hits hard.

I'm so glad the algorithm brought this reaction to me. I actually found Ren last year while I was looking for reactions to Jelly's genre switch up lol Jelly and Ren and are my 2 favorite artists and they're so different, but they're also so similar. This right Herr I'd the definitely of serendipity. I cried through both of the Jelly Roll shows I git to here in Connecticut. They were the only times he was here lol I have one specific person in my head when every time I listen to this one. I had seen him in ages, because he disappeared when we found out about his addiction. He moved away, but I got seven messages a couple years ago that he had taken his own life. I tried so hard for 12 years. It broke my heart when I had to move on for my own sanity. RIP John. Thank you for this reaction.

My best friend fought addiction for years. He knew how I felt and I only wanted to be there for him cause he desperately wanted to not be that person.
It took years, lots of lying, lots of relapse. WE get through it. I took leave from work and crashed at his place for 2 weeks and fought it with him for the worst.
There for a shoulder, an ear, a punching bag, someone to laugh and cry with watching stupid movies.
It took him seeing that level of this is OUR problem and we’re a team and it helped him get clean. Hes working a great job now and clean 10 years this July.
If you’re going to voice your opinion BE THERE for what comes. Everything is easier as a team.

This one hit real hard. I had a good friend who was a hard working dude who'd be there for you when you need him. I knew he had a problem in the past which he ended up falling back into. He moved out of state to get away from it but the buddy he moved with got worse after the move so he moved back home. He seemed good for awhile but two times we were over at another buddies house and we caught him fading out. The friend who's place we were at lost his brother to an od the year before and we explained to him that we were there for him any time he needed to hang out or someone to talk to. The second time we explained that to him again but also that we were there to help but didn't want him coming around all messed up. We took his keys, locked his car so he couldn't get more stuff out of it, and waited for him to pass out on the couch before we put his keys on the counter. He woke up before us and was gone before we got up because we stayed up way too late talking about the situation and other people we've lost to drugs. Unfortunately he never reached out to us, ignored us when we reached out, and we lost him at 29 years old.

Loved your reaction guys this is one of the clearest pictures of what addiction is like ya'll said from both sides, the message is "CRYSTAL CLEAR", because everybody gets one side of what the story is but rarely ever get the perspective from the addicts side, it's easy for everyone to judge and want to fix the problem but they forget that sometimes in most cases the person needs fixing before the problem can really be fixed.

KYLE your reaction to this video so genuine. I grew up with addictive mother. She have stents or she went sober, but they never lasted too long. Until the drugs finally ate her body. She basically deteriorated. Which is a weird thing because most people think you die of OD, that’s not necessarily true. That’s actually a prettier picture. Anyway love you guys been watching you for ages. Wish I could throw some money your way so you know who I am. But it’s not in the cards for me right now. Doesn’t matter I’ve told you guys before, I don’t know if you know, but I go back and I rewatch your videos when I’m feeling down. You’re like the two brothers and never had.

Im 10yrs clean and i lost everything im still rebuilding. It changes relationships, it changes YOU! my bf of 7 yrs keeps getting sober and then relapsing and as much as i love him and wanna support him, i think its time to walk away. Hes never made it a year sober in his whole life. Ive tried everything and now i think its time to just walk away for good and love him from a far. Im almost 38 and every serious relationship ive had has been with an addict. My life will never get where i need and want it to be if i stay in this cycle.
Im crying as i write this bc i think the is the 1st time ive got these feelings out...i keep it all in for fear of judgement. I hate that i have to walk away from him bc i dont want him to feel alone but my God has it taken a toll on my life! Im sober ive turned my life around in many ways but im still STUCK!

I hope you can find the strength to do what's best for you. Even if you love someone at times we must accept that even though we love 'em and they mean a lot for us, they're not meant to be in our lifes forever. Especially once it impacts your mental health and life as much as it does. Either way, just writing out my thoughts as I'm emotional about the situation you seem to be in. Keep your head up either way.

This song hit me as hard as it hit you Kyle. In my case, it's my mother. She's not in my life because I relate to Joyner in the beginning. But his loved one's side of things hit hard when it said about only being there when they're trying to get clean. And this line "If you don't believe in yourself, how can you believe in someone believing in you?" hits hard for me as well for my own self but not in relation to addiction.

This song needs to be on the same playlist as Honestav's song, "I'D RATHER OVERDOSE". And I hope to see a reaction from that one, if it hasn't happened yet. IT'S WORTH IT!!!

Man this song hit hard! 3/10/12 was my first day sober. I remember my family going through the deal with me. I admit this I am not the biggest Joyner Lucas fan but this song is 🔥. If you haven’t done it listen to Devils work from Joyner then listen to Bizzle Devils work response.

This is painful..i used to chase my mother around various drug houses around the bay area in Oakland Cali thinking i could save her..many of days i would beat on doors knowing she was behind them but dudes with guns would run me off..i had no power at the age of 15 to protect her. Just typing this made me cry and im now the age of 48 and though i placed those memories in the back of my head never to be remembered this video placed me back in that time. Jelly Roll verse is literally what i had to do.This song is a gift and a curse. Shout out from west monroe la. I thought i had escaped those memories... but clearly i have not... via this song.

My wife passed away in February from a drug overdose. We were separated and going through a divorce, but she moved out and got wrapped up in drugs with a guy she started dating, after 20 years of being sober. I will always live with a regret of not trying hard enough.

Joyner and jelly killed this shit jelly’s voice was incredible but the actor in this was incredible portraying joiners second voice and the passion behind was insanely moving. I would also like to point out the fact that jelly was on this really makes it more powerful when you consider his past.

    This song ruins me.
I had this friend with an addiction. Last time I saw him was years ago, he came into where I used to bartend and asked me for some money. My heart broke seeing him, he was in there, but barely.
He died recently. No funeral. I don't even know what happened. This man was such a big part of my life - our moms were friends, grew up together. He worked with my sister when they were younger. Then he and I met and bonded. I've been meaning to post about him but it's hard to sum up a lifetime of memories.
Walking away from him was one of the hardest things I've ever done, but losing him altogether hits way worse.
