Finneas, said the song's lyrics are about climate change, God, and the Devil, as well as "the idea that humans have made such a mess of the planet at this point that they're both talking to each other like, 'What's going on? Why did they do all of this?'" Elaborating on this in an interview with MTV, Finneas said he and Eilish thought it would be fun to write a song from the perspective of the devil or god, who would be looking down at humans and be disappointed in them for destroying the Earth. He continued, saying them looking down is a consequence to humans for their actions. Eilish told Howard Stern during an interview on The Howard Stern Show that the chorus to "All the Good Girls Go to Hell" was written in 2016, while the rest was written and recorded in 2018.

No Billie didn’t write ocean eyes when she was 13. She SANG ocean eyes when she 13. Finneas wrote it for his band at the time and asked her to try and sing it because it would fit her voice better. Additionally, her dance teacher who knew she liked music asked her if she wanted to maybe create a song for them to dance to in class. Finneas didn’t “polish it over time”, he wrote it and produced it; and then they uploaded it onto soundcloud in order to send it to that dance teacher, not as a release or anything like that. It coincidentally went viral, and the version you heard is that version, they didn’t change it over time. From then on they decided to make more music together, meaning Billie and Finneas write the lyrics, the music, and produce together. The creation of music video was a birthday present from her family for her 14th birthday, so she’s 14 in the video. Later on they also created a dance video, presumably with her class. Obligatory mention here that they were both homeschooled and dance class refers to courses she took not to school.

It's about how humans would rather destroy themselves with fear by believing a 'story' of damnation, than take responsibility for their actions. I mean, according the 'stories' the entire universe was created just for us, right? Besides, you can't have a society with people who don't all play the same game.

Yessss was waiting for this…..kinda disappointed you didn’t put across your thoughts on what it was about, I was really interested to see if you picked it up. Still , a great reaction as always. Next please
When this album came out Billie made a real big deal about listening to the songs in the correct order. And there's a theory that the album is supposed to be all the stages of dreaming. Like bad guy is sorta just fun but then it turns into a bit of a nightmare with bury a friend and so on. The last song of the album (Goodbye) literally reminds the whole list of songs back the start. Sort of of like when you first wake up and are trying to piece the dreams you had back together. Idk if this theory was ever confirmed by her but if you do listen to the whole album... it's a pretty solid idea! Totally recommend doing it. On another note I'd like to suggest for a reaction a song by an argentinian band called Rata Blanca. The song is from the 80s and its called La Leyenda del Hada y el Mago ( the legend of the fairy and the wizard) its metal, its medieval and its got one of the best guitar solos you'll ever experience and I think you 2 would really enjoy it!
I am the same way. The title of the song is always a hook for me. A song can be good, but if it has a mid title then I may ignore it unless I hear the song in passing.
Would love to see a reaction to her NDA music video. I would definitely also recommend checking out the video Billie Eilish|NDA|Behind the scenes afterwards. It's only 40 seconds but really gives a better look at how crazy the video is.
She's totally into performing the practical stunts in her videos. I read somewhere that she said that rig with the wings weighed 70 pounds. She's a tiny little thing, about 5'3" but so powerful as an artist. You might dig NDA.
What's crazy is that this ENTIRE album was written, produced, and recorded by just Billie and her brother Finneas in her bedroom. It's amazing, and why it, deservingly, won so many awards!
Love Billie "Everything I ever wanted" is powerful. I also suggest Jessie Reyez. Gate Keeper, Body count, Coffin ft Eminem, Shutter Island, Dear Yezzie, I haven't heard one song by this artist that isn't fire.
Yall should react to Melanie Martinez! The 4 music videos she's put out for her latest album Portals are such high quality production it's amazing. She's also a very... unique artist 🤣
I'm gonna start a journey called "Ask these guys to react to 'Mother I Sober' and 'Father time' by Kendrick Lamar in every video until they do". Video 6, guys. Great reaction, btw!
No, it’s actually crazy. A lot of the people on the Internet thought that she “sold her soul” to the dev!l, when in reality, this song is just about climate change, and how people in the future are going to be the ones that are affected by it and also just overall how people are ignoring it.😂
Billie is from what I understand, Agnostic. She used to be deeply religious, but something changed. She hasn't said what. Now, she's open to the possibility of a God but isn't sure. The song is supposed to be about climate change and veganism. There are several videos connected with black goo... When the Party's Over, Bury A Friend, All the Good Girls go to Hell, and I suspect that if there had been another video with goo, it would have been I love you. For anybody reading, I know that's a hot take, but I have a theory.

Yessss was waiting for this…..kinda disappointed you didn’t put across your thoughts on what it was about, I was really interested to see if you picked it up. Still , a great reaction as always. Next please
She did this song live at the American Music Awards in 2019 and it was bad ass! That's the only way to describe it.
Brilliant stuff, cheers. NDA, Xanny and Happier Than Ever will blow you away 😎
Definitely need to do a "Lovely" reaction. Her and Khalid are a dream.
Yessss! Been waiting for this one!
You have to listen to "listen before I go" its my fav song of her and its literally one of her best but also saddest songs
Thank you thank you thank you for doing Billie Eilish and not Taylor Swift!!!! Seriously- THANK YOU! ❤
Billie’s brother Finneas wrote the song Ocean Eyes for his sister.
thanks for the reaction guys!! you should keep reacting to her💗
-NDA
- Xanny
- everything i wanted
- idontwannabeyouanymore
- TV
- lovely
and more
PLEASE do her song "Bellyache" next! 🙏🙏🙏
YEEESSS! 😏🎉🎉🎉✌️🫶🔥🎶💯☕️
Get into it. Don't hold back.
This video is FIRE! 🔥🔥😂🤣
Ocean eyes was written by Finneas when he was 17.. she sung it at 13.
“Not the fire on her because there’s no safe way to do that” *Hozier sweating in the corner with his head on fire*
You should listen to Billie's My Strange Addiction. It's my favourite song by her so far.
Nda and lovely next 💯💯❤️❤️🔥🔥🔥
Love Billie "Everything I ever wanted" is powerful. I also suggest Jessie Reyez. Gate Keeper, Body count, Coffin ft Eminem, Shutter Island, Dear Yezzie, I haven't heard one song by this artist that isn't fire.
I love this song, but I can't see this video without thinking about The Emperor's New Clothes by PatD!
Keep ‘em comin! :)
Yall should react to Melanie Martinez! The 4 music videos she's put out for her latest album Portals are such high quality production it's amazing. She's also a very... unique artist 🤣
Ocean Eyes was writen by her brother for his band and he ask her to sing cos he though she will sound better :)
ilomilo is the continuation of the beat in bury a friend
Some people have brought this one up already, but I really want to highlight it...
"End of the World from BBC Radio One Piano Sessions"
I love this video.
I'm gonna start a journey called "Ask these guys to react to 'Mother I Sober' and 'Father time' by Kendrick Lamar in every video until they do".
Video 6, guys.
Great reaction, btw!
Have you seen the new cover Ren has done, its a "FRED AGAIN" MASHUP 🎉❤❤❤❤ I Can't wait for you to do a reaction to it! 😊😮🎉❤❤❤😊😊
Why would you not want to get into the symbolism and what you think it’s about?? That’s kind of the whole point of reactions.
Zanny next please!!! So underrated!
Can you do something from the EP next? I recommend Belly Ache or My Boy.
Make a review of Ilomilo, it’s in this same album and it’s probably the best song of it
Billie is an amazing blend of Fiona Apple and Lauren Hill. Hits every time
yay :)
Unexpected for sure. :) Check out "hole in your head" by ekoh. Great to react to. Keep it up!
No, it’s actually crazy. A lot of the people on the Internet thought that she “sold her soul” to the dev!l, when in reality, this song is just about climate change, and how people in the future are going to be the ones that are affected by it and also just overall how people are ignoring it.😂
I can wait for them to listen to "what I was made for"
Billie is from what I understand, Agnostic.
