@@ANNAREID29 I used to pass a retailer downtown on my way to work and from a distance I admired their clothes. When I entered the store for the first time I couldn’t understand why the clothes no longer appealed to me(?) Then I realized….it was ALL CHEAP SYNTHETIC 😂
@@ANNAREID29 there is only 1 shirt that I like that my daughter ordered from there and it says Florida on the front. I noticed the bikinis look almost identical to skims it is definitely hit or miss. Not for the classy woman 😂 more for teens/students!
@@ANNAREID29 something I believe is pretty European in vibe: we care on average more than Americans or Asians about human rights and sustainable production. Like a part of being classy is also being mindful about the others in a less fortunate position and limiting impact on the environment. In that sense shein is the worst of the worst.

Great tips, Anna! I know it might easier for me (since I make most of my own clothes), but it’s nice to have a few statement pieces amongst the classics. Everything else has to be pared down but for example, I made a denim symmetrical trench coat that’s Alexander McQueen inspired. It’s not trendy but it looks designed and I wear it over something really simple like very simple knit dress and boots: the trench coat is so unusual that everything else should be kept minimal. Having a few pieces like this are the things that elevate classy into stylish classy. Picking up some of these pieces from smaller label local designers or on travels is a way to make sure your wardrobe isn’t just filled with the basics, but some signature pieces that are just yours. Also, it’s a way to support young designers in your area and to make sure that your clothes aren’t all from the same online shops and are also timeless.

I love having the odd avant garde piece that is timeless, like Japanese designs or vintage designer as well as my own creations. Also, I have fashion designer friends so having a few of their pieces brings me happiness every time I wear them out! One of my close friends collects and designs steel boned corsets and she designed one custom for me that I wear with jeans and a blazer. She also designs for Dolly Parton and the movies so I feel like it's extra special! 💓
Agree! I'm 46 n I make my own flare jeans n they look so sharp n clean, no rips or distress on them . People always telling me they love my jeans . I love to wear dark jeans with a colorful top.
@@geor9822 same! It's almost impossible to find non-distressed denim or really good selvedge denim jeans for women. People always stop to ask me where I bought my jeans when I wear them out. So satisfying!

I'm 70 years young, still styling and loving it! If I may, I just want to add, the whole point of style is to identify YOUR individual best look. It takes some honest self reflection. For instance, I'm a small person, I have naturally blonde- white hair, very fair skin and freckles. I tend to look a little bit "cute" instead of elegant. How to dress? I avoid small prints - they clash with my freckles. I avoid pastels, except for light blue. I wear clothes that look sophisticated, no matter how much I admire the cutest new trends. I have to do that if I want to be taken at all seriously. So no bows, ruffles, or lace for me. It's not that I don't like those things. I just know they don't work on ME. Sooner or later, we all have to admit what makes us look good, vs what we wish made us look good. That's when we know ourselves and our personal style. 😊

I especially love the first blue sweater but when you mentioned it was wool I immediately broke out in hives..lol. Back in the day (can’t believe I’m old enough to say that) you didn’t mix black with brown. But now that those old rules have finally gone away, I absolutely love to see black and brown on other people. I think it’s a classy look. But for some reason I have been afraid to try it.

IMHO, Monochrome is definitely classy, especially in a muted color. I sometimes prefer that to the neutrals. But then, I am a small 5"2", with bigger boobs, and monochrome and color makes me seem taller. I think every body type has its plusses and minuses, and not everything is right for everyone. For instance, on a tall person, mid rise jeans look great, but on my short legs, ha ha ha ha ha. Another great video here. Keep 'em coming. 🤗
