Indian army has already three brands vehicles they deliver their product tata ,mahindra, ashok Leyland
But they don't like armor

The power is not enough. It needs a very powerful engine. Just look at US JLTV. Its a great armoyred vehicle and has a lot pf power to move around that vehicle. Its very heavily armoured yet fast. But our Inkas Armoured vehicle look under powered.

Very nice ARMY truck
Purpose built vehicles like Oshkosh latv and foxhound are the only option for a good infantry mobility vehicle for anything larger wheeled APC like patria amv and boxer are the best for high density seating good old trucks like stallion, tatra and Oshkosh etc are better. Armored vehicles like above mentioned which are modded version of civilian vehicle is only good for law enforcement.
Everything strong and good is good for the army but sadly our politicians are too oldschool and dont care much about modernisation of the army.

Basically the MS DZIRE & SWIFT Diesel variant will provide a better mileage than than of Hyundai i20 ...but to be specific enough ...the comfort , the built quality & the safety provided by Hyundai i20 is far much better than that of MS Desire or swift...
Although the boot space for desire 378 litre , for swift it's 316 & as for the i20 it's 285 .
So there you will have to compromise for the boot space but trust me the ride quality of i20 is better .
