Dear Mr GK, you have covered the vast area about calendar. Your explanations are very interesting and want to mention few points.
1. Starting points of Udhrayanam and Dhakshinayanam are reference to equator.
2. Long distance stars are moving and due to its distance we are considering that its not moving when compared with the movement of solar system. So Aries is fixed and sun is entering into Aries on April 14 every year.
3. As per the science the movement of vernal equinox towards reverse date and being on March 21 in this century. Scientists are referring the point of vernal equinox is Aries and its moving.
The real stars of Aries is not yet changed the position. These differences are called Nirayana in Astrology derived by many astronomers like Lahiri, Krishnamoorthy, Fagen, Bradley etc.,

Ugadi, a major festival in Karnataka (also Yugadi), Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Maharashtra (Gudi Padwa) , is celebrated as the New Year's Day, as per the Hindu calendar. In 2023, the day falls on March 22, which happens to be Wednesday .
Last year ugadi was on April right ? Because we celebrate that here.
Only for this year it falls on March 22nd for last year and year before it falls on April 2nd and April 13 respectively... FYI..
