the hardest part of fighting Renalla is if you're running a mage build. you'll never know she's a glass cannon until you tried to hit her with your weapon instead of trying to hit her with magic attacks. I actually thought she's a very tough enemy because every magic attack I threw just tickles her.
MY 1st time fighting her, the fight glitched out for me and never had a "Waldo" to put down. So imagine my confusion trying to put down all the students only for them to keep replenishing and Renalla herself permanently invincible.

Just goes to show how different people can be. I absolutely adored the first Godfrey fight, and he kicked my ass multiple times. Way more than Morgott right after.
Yeah totally agree. I know Godfrey doesn’t have many moves but the timings on some of them make it hard to dodge. Morgott gives much bigger windows to hit him and shares a lot of moves with Margit, so I think he’s easier.

I have a shameful confession to make… On my first play through of Dark Souls, I have been hearing about how easy Pinwheel is and I was spoiled about where he is. I broke my Iaito fighting the bonewheel skeletons and I was down to like two flasks. I kept going because I’ve been hearing that Pinwheel does little to nothing. I didn’t bother rolling and just kept r1 spamming him. I was then bombarded by five fireballs two hits away from killing Pinwheel. I died to Pinwheel, post-Anor Londo…
Serves you right for making it past anor londo and not figuring out you need to repair weapons. Or maybe you just didn't find the bonfire that's closer to the boss arena. If you do it again, and I hope you do, could you introduce your guests? You first mention V-limit's name a minute into the vid, and I know nothing about them after finishing watching.
I think Rennala's purpose is just to be a barrier in the main quest for pure magic characters, who otherwise meet very little resistance from most of the other bosses. Her almost total resistance to sorcery forced me to go completely back to the drawing board the first time I played.
I feel like you should of given an honorable mention to the Elden Ring tutorial boss, his health bar pops up, he comes running at you, and when he gets close a tutorial pops up to tell you how to kill him.
This collab was tuff. And I agree with almost everything here. I would maybe say Curse Rotted Greatwood from DS3 would take my place and Regal Ancestor Spirit from ER (counting only remembrance bosses). Fire as always
Wowwww totally forgot about regal ancestor spirit, that totally would’ve won hahahaha thanks for watching as always man, you’re a real one. Hope all is well and wishing you a great 2023
Seconding Regal Ancestor Spirit, poor thing literally clipped through the floor and died after a few hits when it was trying to use what I found out later was some sort of warp move, was quite disappointed to hear that amazing music end so soon
you forgot one detail about Pinwheel, there's a summon sign to help you: Paladin Leeroy, he's much more strong than the boss, you can just watch him smashing Pinwheel with his heavy hiting Grant. So it can be easy killed even at level 1, just summon him and survive.
I killed pinwheel in 5 hits, though he did nearly kill me after the cloning. The butterfly took forever just because of the fact that it flew away so much. 3 hits then it flies away, and takes like 20 hits
Surprised the Prowling Magus from DS2 wasn't considered. That's probably the quickest boss battle I've ever had in a Fromsoft game (aside from some of the ER minibosses that I didn't find until I was way over-leveled).
i got obliterated by them in ng+ 😂 and covetous demon when they hit you they hit like a truck combined with the greediness of knowing how easy they are even the easiest boss can put your right back in your place
Yes that one is the easiest in the soul series, i beat Rennala in my first try too, i dont know why Miyasaki keeps doing bosses with same puzzles, if you played demon souls or ds3 you will realize quickly how it goes, same with Yhorm, Rykard and Storm king. Besides when you finally find the Raya Lucaria's key, you probably are too overpowered for this fight, i did it with the golden halberd (+6) and was so easy...
Here’s my list. DeS: True King Allant (it’s not even close) Ds1: Pinwheel Ds2: Can’t decide between Covetous and Last Giant Bloodborne: Brainsucker (no point in pretending the chalices aren’t apart of the game so yeah) Sekiro: Folding Screen Monkeys Ds3: Curse Rotted Greatwood Elden Ring: Soldier of God 😊
By the time I fought Rennala in my first playthrough, I had gone up the secret passage to Altus, and given up on fighting the magma wyrm, but on the way I picked up the Serpent-God's Curved Sword. I'd also been using the Demi-Human ashes for stuff like catacomb/cave bosses with adds, so I got them out... and for the whole first phase, I had five cavemen clobbering the students constantly, and every time one of them died I got a little heal. I'd leveled them up enough that the second phase went pretty quickly too, but that first phase was hilarious. There's so many of those students and they have so little health that the Serpent-God healing makes you basically invincible.
The thing with demon souls bosses is some of them are gimicky and not as difficult BECAUSE they are at the end of a long journey through the area. Remember there's no bonfires u have to get there in 1 go So imagine going through something like 5-2 then having to fight a artorias level threat
I think for Dark Souls 2, Dragonrider deserves an honorable mention for the unintended instakill trick that is so easy to pull off that anyone could do it and takes like 6 seconds
For those of you that play Dark Souls 2 did you know that with a +7 Pyromancy flame and Flame Swathe you and you target lock on the Hollow in front of Prowling Magus and use the spell it will instant kill all of them.
I agree with most choices. Ds3 is the most interesting decision for me since it's the only souls game I did challenge runs in. And despite all my playthroughs Iudex Gundyr actually still kills me a decent number of times. I also still sometimes die during the Ancient Wyvern run and I've missed the plunge way too many times. For a normal run I'd maybe say Deacons or offline Halflight yet I also remember those two being some of my biggest obstacles in certain challenge runs. Wolnir is another boss to consider. He doesn't get much harder in challenge runs though his skeletons and him moving so close that you have barely any space left can provide additional problems in challenge runs. Though in general, it's still pretty easy to get killed by his vape, challenge run or not so I definitely can't consider him easiest either. My choice for the easiest boss considering both normal runs and challenge runs is Yhorm. One might think that he'd be difficult if you aren't able to use the Stormruler but his attacks are just so telegraphed that it merely becomes a test of patience. And even if you mess up a few times, there's not a big threat of dying.
For me personally I think the celestial emissary is the easiest bb boss, the witches can end up a little overwhelming, especially with insight, but the emissaries are a breeze no matter what
I remember my first Ancient Wyvern fight, when I didn't even notice the totally obvious path ahead, didn't get what the gimmick was, so I simply massaged his feet for around 8 minutes until he was dead.
The thing about Renalla is that 90% of the player base already killed Godrick by the time they reach Liurnia. But if you actually start with Rennalla she's kinda annoying since most of her attack will insta kill you, and if you're a sorceress your screwed.
As someone who DID go through the catacombs pretty early on my first play through, (found a holy weapon using master key, forget the name though) he actually was difficult. I didn’t deal nearly enough damage at the time and my health was really small. Because of this, and not knowing who was a clone and who he was, I actually spend a while on him, maybe even a couple hours
Astora's Straight Sword? It's the sword guarded by the undead dragon near New Londo. It's almost always one of the first holy weapons a beginner gets if they chose the Master Key
What I like about the Rennala fight is that if you’re doing a mage playthrough she can be fairly difficult due to having such a high resistance to magic.
The fun thing about Yhorm is that you don't have to use the stromruler if you got the right build. Ranged weapons, lightning Damage or spells work really well too.
4:37 Another fact that makes the fight way easier is that you can actually find and attack the other witch before her health bar appears and she won't do anything about it. So you can just drop the first witch to half health then run around looking for the other witch and kill her, then finish off the first witch removing any difficulty the fight has since the second witch is somewhat more of a threat than the first. Edit: 6:06 I never figured out Storm Ruler on my first playthrough, so I spent an hour bitting at his ankles with the basic weapons (and his hands when he would deign to put them in range)
I agree with the witches on bloodborne being the easiest but personally I always thought the celestial emissary was the easiest, especially when the main one becomes big so you definitely cant miss it
I honestly wanna talk about Margit for a second. When I first made it to him, got my shit rocked, he ran the fade constantly. Now after my 10th attempt I decided to go back and upgrade my Uchigatana. In my adventures I found a shield that blocked 100% physical damage. I thought to myself "Hmmm.....how about I test this shield against Margit." Low and fuckin behold Margit stops doing so much damage because I don't have to worry about trying to I frame both his big ass sword and his magical attacks. I felt so much rage when I beat him because one Item just happened to negate everything Margit had against me.
I'd only add for Pinwheel - he actually has a "special" attack at around 20% where he does a mass clone and they all spam fireballs or w/e at you. This actually does a lot of damage and can easily kill a player at lower level. Granted, this almost never matters, unless you do what I did one time by trying to fight him at sl1 with no upgraded gear, but, hey, it's uh.... something!
I agree with Rennala being the easiest boss; I fought her in NG+ wearing Radahn’s Lion Set & wielding the Hand of Malenia, and I didn’t even need to spam the Waterfowl Dance until (mostly) in the 2nd phase. Rennala is absolutely pretty, a pity she doesn’t have the bakery like Sif does in GoW Ragnarök, but Ren is basically a mix between Deacons of the Deep & Rom the Vacuous Spider, only much better in comparison.
Pinwheel/Moonlight Butterfly feel like midway bosses or a common enemies the way you don't feel a lot of pressure from them. I'd say the easiest boss that actually feels like a boss fight is something like Iron Golem. You can still die to Iron Golem, but you are going to have an easier time understanding the fight without a lot of issues, compared to other bosses.
I was not expecting the Covetous Demon at all. I just stood beside him and hit him until he died. Never knew he could unequip your items anyways. That attack makes me think of the “Like Likes” from The Legend of Zelda, it’s an enemy that will eat you and steal your items - but if you kill it fast enough, you can get your stuff back. I wonder what would happen if FromSoft looked to that for inspiration.
Oh, as an aside, the one time I played Sekiro I fought the Folding Screen Monkeys. My friend wanted me to fight a boss and I picked them because I thought they sounded funny. I beat them in one attempt lol.
If you wait about a minute before starting to attack pinwheel, he turns into quite a dangerous one. Moonlight butterfly never killed me or even came close to it. Pinwheel got me once
Another problem with Godfrey is that you can just walk under a lot of his attacks. A lot of Elden Ring fights have that, but Godfrey is so reliable at it that I figured these gaps in the patterns out first try,
Not a main boss, but come on, got to mention the Mimic boss in Elden Ring. You can literally unequip everything you have and face and naked and afraid version of you.
I played and platinumed dark souls 1 a few days ago for the first tims. It was incredible. What a perfect game, i have 0 complaints. Now im playing ds2 for the first time
First time I was in Ancient Wyvern fight, I didn't know he's a gimmick fight. It repeatedly says "do plunge attack" but tbh I expected it to deal like 1/3 HP or something, like in Asylum Demon. And I didn't want to climb plunging place as many times as it needed. Also Wyvern stuck on railing, didn't come under me so I couldn't plunge, even if I wanted to. Took me like 20 minutes shooting the poor guy with Dragonslayer Greatbow.
Gonna be honest, I did struggle with the first Godfrey, but it was my first play through and I was fighting it using the base armour set and so little vigor that I could die in two or three hits.
DeS: King Allant. I don't think it's even possible to die here. Unless you're SL1 or something like that. You can literally stay still while your stamina regenerates. Easiest boss ever. DS1: Pinwheel. Nothing new here. DS2: Covetous Demon. Good to be able to kill Jabba the Hutt though. DS3: Iudex Gundir. Only boss I've died only once in DS3. BB and Sekiro not played. Elden Ring: Rick, Soldier of God. Not that he is weak, it's just that he is gentle and doesn't want to fight. He enters the room running just to remember us that exercise is important. Then, after he makes sure we are exercising our arms and legs, he teleports away. Such a wholesome dude.

Moonlight butterfly: “it’s found right next to a bonfire”
You think I found that bonfire before the boss battle?! I looked, man 😂
Nobody can harness the sheer power of Mist Noble
So weird, for me first Godfrey was way more difficult, took me 30+ tries. And real Godfrey 3 tries with the shackle
So glad to see this channel growing. I realize though it is due to the quality of the creative and articulate outros
It must be. Thank you ;)
My list:
Des:true king allant
Ds1:pinwheel
Ds2:demon of song
Ds3: deacons if the deep
BB:cethesal emissary
Sek: mist noble
ER: ancestor spirit
Mist noble is a miniboss.
Did we really forget True King Allant at the end of DeS
You don’t have to say ‘in my opinion’ every 5 seconds. We know this is all your opinion :).
I was hoping you wouldn't say Mist Noble for Sekiro because man that boss was hard as fuck, maybe even harder than Malenia
🤣
I agree with the witches on bloodborne being the easiest but personally I always thought the celestial emissary was the easiest, especially when the main one becomes big so you definitely cant miss it
Ancient Wyvern annoyed me. The amount I jumped off that cliff to stab it and either flew over or not close enough to his head is... Embarrassing.
Crazy, did I just get a reply from a bot even though I don't have nearly the top or even somewhat recognizable comment???
Really like this video style. Hope we get more of this in the future!!!
I once got to pinwheel as a pure caster build with no remaining casts and melee'd pinwheel to death with my staff
I'd only add for Pinwheel - he actually has a "special" attack at around 20% where he does a mass clone and they all spam fireballs or w/e at you. This actually does a lot of damage and can easily kill a player at lower level. Granted, this almost never matters, unless you do what I did one time by trying to fight him at sl1 with no upgraded gear, but, hey, it's uh.... something!
bro your edits are top notch, i hope you get more subs
Nailed the outro again👌🏼
Soldier of god,Rick
I agree with Rennala being the easiest boss; I fought her in NG+ wearing Radahn’s Lion Set & wielding the Hand of Malenia, and I didn’t even need to spam the Waterfowl Dance until (mostly) in the 2nd phase. Rennala is absolutely pretty, a pity she doesn’t have the bakery like Sif does in GoW Ragnarök, but Ren is basically a mix between Deacons of the Deep & Rom the Vacuous Spider, only much better in comparison.
you are down bad.
@@reallyhotpancakes7558 but am I wrong, though? 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
New viewer here. I love the recurring bit of ending the video in the middle of the outro.
Welcome aboard hahaha I appreciate it
Pinwheel/Moonlight Butterfly feel like midway bosses or a common enemies the way you don't feel a lot of pressure from them. I'd say the easiest boss that actually feels like a boss fight is something like Iron Golem. You can still die to Iron Golem, but you are going to have an easier time understanding the fight without a lot of issues, compared to other bosses.
The guys who made Covetous Demon were fans of the Runescape Chaos Elemental, it seems.
A lot of Elden Ring fights have that, but Godfrey is so reliable at it that I figured these gaps in the patterns out first try,
Did you forget the existence of True King Allant?
DeSo - Storm King
DS - Pinwheel
DS2 - Covetous
DS3 - First Ice Knight boss
Bloodborne - Failures
Sekiro - Shinobi Hunter(not counting gimmick fights)
Elden Ring - Godrick (if only counting big bosses)
Not a main boss, but come on, got to mention the Mimic boss in Elden Ring. You can literally unequip everything you have and face and naked and afraid version of you.
Soldier of Godrick might be easy, but man Rick, Soldier of God is an absolute challenge
I played and platinumed dark souls 1 a few days ago for the first tims. It was incredible. What a perfect game, i have 0 complaints. Now im playing ds2 for the first time
I didnt even know that Covetous Demon stole your items until right now hahaha
The hardest parts of Rennala are the dude guarding the lift before her and the clearly longest way from the nearest site of grace to get to her. 🙈
Pinwheel is an easy boss if you fight him when you’re supposed to, but naked at the beginning of a run can be a real pain in the ass
When you got to sekrio I thought mist noble was going to be picked but I guess he barley counts as a boss
lol true
He’s not even really a miniboss. No memory. No prayer bead. Just a dude with two deathblow markers.
I actually forgot the Covetous Demon existed
when ember unloaded a vid:
humanity restored
ember restored
site of grace discovered
🤣🤝
Don't dis my boy soldier of Godrickck, he'll mess you up
First time I was in Ancient Wyvern fight, I didn't know he's a gimmick fight.
Elden Ring: Praetor Rykard (once you now what you are doing)
I like how instead of chosing one together each had a different oppinion.
