- Do you ever get tired of spending $15-20 on a new pattern every time you want to make something a little different? This video will show you how to stretch a pattern a little further and get some more use out of it, without spending extra money on new patterns! This video is ideal for people who have a little bit of sewing experience and have made one or two pieces in the past, but don't necessarily have the experience to draft patterns entirely on their own

Ohmygawd... I was following links about sewing and found you on insta... then linked over here. I have really been enjoying the cocovid offerings... and here, unusually, the banjo caught my ear.
It’s my husband!!! The Heftone Banjo Orchestra was a project of his!!! We also perform love songs from the 1920’s as The Fabulous Heftones (my bass is called a Heftone). What an incredibly small world!!
Now I am actually off to listen...
Oh my goodness, a small world indeed! I love all of his banjo music and I appreciate that he allows it to be used by other creators like me.
The jaunty banjo music is just so cheery and perfect for the vibe I want in my videos! Thank you :D
I think this tutorial is only partially about how these specific hacks. What it's really about is you teaching people to look at a thing that they're making, have an idea for what they want to make it do differently, and then to not be afraid to reach out and fiddle with it to see if they can make it do it. That's AWESOME! I would watch a hundred tutorials of you taking a thing that does X and futzing with it to see if you can make it do Y. Encouraging self-learning sewers to not be afraid to go off the defined path is a super important thing and I would love to see you doing more of this.
I LOVE the outfit you are wearing!
I've been sitting here like "oh but I've never done this ... I don't know how to do that ..." and you're like "I'm a beginner but here's how to make literally everything anyway go do the thing." Thank you for the kick in the pants!
Your sleeves are everything
EIFFEL TOWER SCISSORS!
Sorry, I just got really excited there... Thank you for the video, this was really lovely and I absolutely learned stuff!
I am just so happy that you liked it! I love kookie scissors, always on the hunt for fun ones :D
I actually love those pants! As they are in the ensemble you have shown, they reminded me of Tudor men's pants. I bet if you added a belt like that beautiful red one you had with the other pants it would make ALL the difference! I loved watching this video and I hope you will do more tutorials in the future! Cheers!
Very useful. Absolutely love your personal style.
Love this video. Love these hacks. Love your aesthetic. Love love love. I will be sticking around for sure!
I love your little sitting area!! I would love to have a couch like that!
The surprise pants hack! BRB while I dig through my fabric stash for pants fabric.
Very informative. I love all the outfits u wore in the vid.
This is EXACTLY what I’ve been looking for!!!
Oh I am so glad you're finding it kind of useful! I wasn't sure anyone would be interested :)
Conversations in Costumes I’ve literally been trying to teach this to myself over the last three weeks
Very nice
Totally enjoyed this. I'm excited to be a new subscriber via CoCoVid!
BEST POODLE MEATBALL!
Awwwww. PUPPY! 😍
This basically reinforces the rule of KNOW YOUR MEASUREMENTS. Makes it so much easier to hack a pattern.
Thank you for the lovely video! also did you make that top? if so what pattern did you use because I adore it!
Please what is the pattern for the last blouse in the last 2mins the one where you are showing the bike pants. I've literally been searching for a couple of days for that exact look. I've figured it out but would look an actual pattern.? Oh please help. You make at least 90% of the Victorian look I'm after. I think I'm nearly where you are at in mixing and matching pattern pieces
Oh, I love that Magpie dress drawing
Yes! It’s actually from a book published in 1887 about what to wear to fancy dress balls. pin.it/6PiilZ0
@@thesewloartist Thank you so much!
big sleeves and puffy pants look like the height of comfort
I’ve totally just copied curves from a pattern onto my measured fabric
I need some "nerd" glasses to go with my historical stuff rather than my modern rectangular frames or if I can't be assed putting in contacts.
