- Kerala Parotta or Malabar Parotta (also called Porotta or Barotta) is a layered flat bread made from maida. It is a unique recipe from Malabar cuisine. It is one of the famous street food or Thattu Kadai special food in Kerala.
Normally Keralites like to eat hot Parotta with Beef roast or Chilli Chicken, but you can also have this with Vegetable kurma or Parotta Salna.
This video is about how to make soft layered Kerala Parotta at your home with an easy method.

INGREDIENTS
For Dough Preparation
Maida ------------------------------ 500 g (4 ¼ Cup)
Egg ----------------------------------- 1 egg
Salt ----------------------------------- 1tsp
Sugar--------------------------------- ¾ tbsp
Oil ------------------------------------ 1 tbsp
Water -------------------------------- (1 ¼ cup)
For Parotta Frying
Dalda --------------------------------- 1 tsp
Sunflower Oil----------------------- 3 tsp

Water measurement 11/4 cup means how many ml??
1 cup = 240ml,
1.25 Cup = 300ml
Please note, water requirements may slightly change based on quality of maida, so after adding 1cup of water, add water as and when required.
