This game easily has the best announcer, from the intro, to the fact that if you win with a Super, the announcer will even call out the Super Move's name, something no other game in this series did.
I was actually disappointed when MvC1 announcer would only say HYPER COMBO FINISH despite displaying the super name (though tbf MSH vs SF also did this for unique secret character hyper combos)
FUN FACT: In the case of Narimaru, he IS in the American version of the game, but his Icon/selectability is removed. If you use a GameShark, you can still play as him, and he is CRAZY good fun, and BY FAR THE CRAZEIST character in the game! ^-^
When I was a kid, I visited my local movie theater that had some arcade machines, and one such game they had was the Japanese version of Marvel Super Heroes vs. Capcom, so I was able to see gameplay footage of Norimaru. I had absolutely no idea who he was, and I thought he was some special unlockable because I'd go to other arcade places that didn’t have this guy. I'd swear to my friends that I saw some weird nerd fighting against Marvel heroes, but no one believed. Sadly, when I took my friends to the movie theater, the arcade machine had been removed.
This is the first fighting game I've played in my life. Everything I love about this genre started with this one and it is a big influence on me. Great video!
I always felt like this roster was made for me. Cyclops/spiderman/ken and Dan is all this man needs. Plus I love the color scheme of this game. Marvel/disney even capcom can go to hell for destroying the legacy of this ultimate fighting game ip. These cps2 games are timeless
The PS1 port, funnily enough, was the game that first exposed SF & Marvel comics to me as a whole when I was around 6 or so, and as such this game holds a special place to my heart.
I have very soft spot for this game Even with xmen vs sf being a thing i still preferred MvSF by a long shot Especially the announcer and soundtrack(IT HAS THE BEST AKUMA THEME EVER)
It wasn't just license issues that got Norimaro scrapped for the western versions, Marvel had a huge vitriolic hatred of him as well and forced Capcom to remove him in those versions.
@@krystiancharos889 They can't just pop these characters out of thin air. They'd have to compose a new theme for her, come up with new moves/record new voice lines, have new announcer lines, draw new art for her, come up with a new ending, etc. Also with how late Norimaro was removed, were they just supposed to do this however many weeks/months before launch?
Everyone loves to ignore this game because of its "black sheep" status, but it really is fun and enjoyable despite a lot of similarities with the previous game. The soundtrack is pretty amazing too and a rare example of Street Fighter characters getting new original theme songs instead of another remix of their original SF2 or Alpha theme.
As a Nintendo fan, it's pretty disheartening that no game from this series has ever made it to one of their consoles. It seems like The Switch would be a perfect machine to have a collection of these fighters, even if it was only composed of 3 games.
Even though I enjoyed this game, the one criticism I have with this game is the roster. I felt it lacked the variety of characters that X-Men vs Street Fighter had.
Best fighting game ever released, no questions. The entire game was hype, and then there's the God of fighting known as cyber akuma. I can only dream of a modern port one day
This was always my favorite of the MvC brand. Something about it just felt right to me, like I was in full control. Also I think if they wanted to they could bring back Norimaru re-skinned as hostless symbiote Venom or something.
everyone gives this game crap for reusing character sprits and backgrounds. which is true it does do that, but it steps it in different areas. The music is better with becoming the best version of their character themes with Captain America, Spider-Man, Ryu, and M. Bison as an example. Also they gave us a good final boss in Cyber Akuma instead of fighting your secondary character after defeating Apocalypse in x-men vs. street fighter
Norimaro wasnt in the US because The Marvel offices didn't like him as well as some of Capcoms staff didnt want him in the first place so the rest of Capcom took him out. You can also take him out of the Japan version of the game by just change the how much you put in the machine.
I found it very hard to understand and follow all the capcom fighting games post street fighter 2. While I was playing SSF2, we got ST, Alphas, vs series, and then 3 in a span of about 4 years. Too much going on all at once and i basically checked out by '95 because of all the games.

Yes! Amen! I love this game the most for this very reason!
Tbh fighting games still don't do stuff like this and I wish they did.

One of my 1st fighting games ever next to tekken 5, The annoucer of theis game is legendary.
You had a drought from 99 to 04 bruh haha. Hope you went back to see the gems you missed!

Underrated fighting game channel
kinda overrated imo....

epic wolverine theme in this game
its very jazzy and I love it
Facts! I was pissed that they didn't put it in other Marvel fighting games.
The art in this game is 🔥 (also the secret characters are so cool in this game, Nori is cringe though).

This game was Legendary.
10:30 - Yes, you are mistaken) First assists in the genre were in Avengers in Galactic Storm from Data East in 1996
I can't believe that this game will be coming to PC, Switch and PS4 very soon. Can't wait to fire this up again.
Straight skipped Xbox
The PS1 port, funnily enough, was the game that first exposed SF & Marvel comics to me as a whole when I was around 6 or so, and as such this game holds a special place to my heart.
the 90s are defnitely considered the golden era lol

They could've replaced him with Psylocke.
Marvel said they didn't want a joke character fighting against their character.
@@AshWilliams-v3e Well I never heard the same kind of controversy about Roll and Servbot beating up Marvel's characters.

WE NEED THESE IN MODERN CONDOLES!!!!!
7:19 well, that's an animation I'd never thought I'd see Spider-Man in.
Hey dude great video, what song is the one that plays around 1:30 to 3:30 ?
Brother Goes Away - Hideki Naganuma (From Ollie King)
Check out Hideki's music, they're bangers!

Awesome video 👌🙌 very pleased to watch 😊
Omega red was fun I hope he appears in Deadpool 3.
One of the iconic games i remember well hearing Halloween Live in UK
one of my first Vs Games, and is my one of my favorites
You used a lot of other user footage but no credits in the umder tab
Currently playing it like crazy on my cabinet 👍

Same, this is the most honest of the MvC franchise.

More moves, and better animations for Ken's fireball and Ken/Ryu backdash.

Close, MSH v SF launched 6 months after XvSF, hence why it's so rushed and so little new assets.
COTA all the way thru MVC2 or even 3 are all epic!

If only they'd let Shuma Gorath keep the Chaos Split super from this game, maybe he'd be slightly better in MvC2.
My favorite marvel game
If this game came out today, people would be absolutely pissed lmao
Easily the weakest entry in all the versus games. I really hated this game
Funny to say this when mvci exists, lol.
Your trippin hard, this game introduced assists, the music and roster is Godlike. The art is amazing.
@@aegisreflector1239 Nah… nerfed chain combo system. Tons of missed animation. Decent Roster. Wolverine and secret characters have the best theme.
