I see NO reason to rush a Merrill extension. Give it another year, he's controllable for a long time. Reminder that Corbin Carroll (last years NLROY) has 78 OPS+ this year, batting .211, and Jackson Chourio signed an $80M contract and also has a 78 OPS+, batting .230. There's no immediate rush.
@@rayfinkle9369 good points
@@rayfinkle9369 Exactly. Make room for Profar.
@@IbhenriksenHe's earned it for sure. And he's saving AJ's job, so Preller better pay up. lol
@@rayfinkle9369 It has to be before the end of the regular season. Make him an offer first.
"When your young superstar is out for the season, look to Jackson/Merrill for insurance. We've been in business for.....um.....well, since March, anyway. You're in good hands with Jackson/Merrill."
I bet the padres don't want to say it's a season ending injury until they absolutely have to, lol.
1-3 months out 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
I wonder how sh*tty people feel who were trashing Tatis now knowing he was playing hurt.
You mean the jackasses who never watched a Padres game. And just wanna talk shit. Seen them on X.
We just found out FTJ was hurt after the Korean series....like wtf dude....when your entire body is hurting, that's a huge tell something is not right and you still played. Now look where we are 🤬
I bet Nando really misses those PEDs now. Lol
And he still was the team leader in homeruns - one legged!!!
Wonder if AJ is going to deplete the farm more. He'll probably try to get Luis Robert Jr and Garrett Corchet in like a 10 player exchange.
@@glendonzane if he makes a move you know it's going to be big. He lives for that SHIT ! That's what he's known for. It certainly isn't for world series appearances. It doesn't even have to be a good trade just as long as it's big and has the MLB channel once again talking about him, not his ball club, him.
@@mike-vq8zwlet's hope it's a good trade,lol,
Funny how slow the padres are at the pr level for merchandise went to the game on Sun and not a merril jersey or shirt in sight at the team store
Last season not even a Kim jersey in sight.
Jackson Merrill a long term Padre? AJ will find a way to mess this up.
Mid August if hes Lucky 🤞🏼
Just say it Ben, he's out for the season
@@johnhammond9962 I don’t think so
@@TalkingFriars I sure hope you're right.
@@TalkingFriars No one know because the team lies and is incompetent with injuries.
@@jdsthirdsounds like u r rooting for tatis to be out for the year, at least u have your dodgers, to root for, 😆
@@brando7266 No it’s sad and tragic they allowed him to play two and a half months with a broken leg. Only in SD.
The pods r jinxed,
Sign Merrill long term NOW!!!
Fernando is hurt and out indefinitely. Sound familiar. This guy has the track record now of not being able to complete entire season. It looks like he is just going to be one of those players who, when he gets hurt, it isn't something small it's always going to be major where he is out a month or more. I think this is just who he is and what it's going to be like watching him through the years of his contract. Just like Will Myers couldn't stay on the field , it was always something. Not saying it's his fault, it just is what it is. It will be an incredible feat for him just to play 100 games each season I think so get used to it.
FTJ don't have nothing a little HGH can't fix.
injuries are a part of the game. maybe following MLB isn't for you bro
@@Jukeboxster well bro if you could read English I said for some players it's through no fault of their own. Some people are just injury prone and Fernando looks like he's one of them. BRO
@@Jukeboxster Playing with a broken leg has never been part of the game. If this was the case Mookie would be playing now with his broken hand. We keep making excuses for this pathetic franchise under AJ. Nando said he he knew his leg was broken in Korea. It’s sheer negligence to have a player continue activities for two and a half months with a fractured bone. Where are the professionals and adults in this organization?
@@Jukeboxster You love to tell others who they can root for or follow. Freedom might not be for you my friend. We don’t all have to think alike.
GO PAD SQUAD!!!
TRUMP!2024 ☝🏽🇺🇸
It’s very easy and apparent to see why this franchise is mediocre and not very good from the front office to the clubhouse. There is absolutely zero accountability at any level. Everyone is consumed with ego and selfishness. What they call “posting” and wanting to play is not team oriented or focused. The bottom line is this is a .500 team and these ego driven players do not help the team by playing with injuries, it hurts the team. There is no one that can tell these divas what to do. They run the show from the clubhouse which is sheer madness. No other organization would allow this happen. Imagine missing the playoffs for a second straight season because the organization is fundamentally flawed and needs change from top to bottom. Playing injured isn’t something to be admired. It’s horrifying and alarming.
Don’t be surprised if Boras becomes Merrill’s agent. Kiss SD goodbye.
Let's go down the list of what jdsthird thinks about Jackson Merrill; you didn't think he'd be good in the first place, in spring training you called him arrogant, you thought he'd be shipped back down to the minors, you said Jackson Chourio and Michael Busch were better, called him a singles merchant, and I have the receipts for all of this. From the evidence, it's clear that you don't have the slightest clue about anything when it comes to Jackson Merrill. If you think he's leaving SD, then I'm 100% sure he'll sign an extension, because he's the opposite of everything you said about him. So keep trashing him, please!
@@Jukeboxster Such a drama queen. The season is not over yet. Where were you during his mini slumps? You slither in the comments during his hot streak. Every player especially rookies have them. Let’s see how he makes adjustments when pitchers make their adjustments to him. We see this all the time with rookies called up. Bursts of talent then they need to make adjustments. It’s 83 games. I’m glad AJ has one rookie he developed and allowed to play. That’s a feather in his cap. Well done. Now he needs more because these bloated contracts aren’t going anywhere.
@@Jukeboxsterjd is lost in his hate for preller, he's usually negative 89% of the time, I wonder if he even enjoyed our playoff run in 2022, 😆
@@jdsthird only ONE feather? HELL, ALL HE GETS TO DO IS COLLECT FIREWOOD, COOK WITH THE WOMEN AND WATCH THE HORSES !
@@brando7266 did you say 2022 Brando? HEY, I forgot all about that year, you never hear about it. THANKS !!
