As someone who switched to the follow recoil crosshair at the release of cs2: it does take some time to get used to it but it helps me know roughly where I am in the spray or to get a general idea of what the spray with a gun looks like. for practicing recoil I don't really recommend it too much because spraying should ideally be muscle memory and not something you have to focus on while playing
I would consider using it if there was a static dot so resetting for the first bullet of next spray is easier.
@@MrGrifft there was such thing when the beta first came out btw, one pixel black dot in the middle of the screen,
you have 4 options now:
1. dont use follow recoil
2. use it anyways how it is
3. use external crosshair (for example the one built in monitor)
4. use toggle bind for it so it only shows up when mouse1 is held (i dont know the bind search up on internet i just know it exists/ existed)

One thing that helped me a lot is a bind that enables follow recoil when I hold down m2 and it changes my crosshair color too. Also got a toggle for it. With the hold m2 style you can tap for long range and hold it when you spray.

I had only 300 hours ish in csgo and that was over 2 years so i was not really actively playing. In cs2 ive started playing very actively and looking to improve a bit. I used to only awp or onetap, if i didnt, i would miss literaly the next however many bullets my magazine would have. So because I was pretty lazy and dont plan on being pro i didnt want to actively learn sprays on maps. Rather i tried to switch to follow recoil, and i have to say for someone who hasnt learned the sprays yet this setting is a blessing. Of course it still takes practice eith that recoil but it actively shows you during your games where your bullets are going, its not that much of a guessing game, my pistol rounds have gotten pretty decent since i always know where the recoil will put the next shot and i can consistently hit the first 3-5 bullets in my sprays now. I know it might not be impressive to any veteran player or even distracting to a point but i want to make the case that to new players follow recoil might be a very useful setting. Recoil is just not that intuitive without visual feedback

Austin I think as feedback some parts of the video feel like there isn't a period or that you've got a gun pointed at you. Sometimes just slow it down a bit and I think it'll be better.

I use a small purple/pink crosshair, static, t-style with a gap. There is no map where you have a purple/pink part. I like a gap to see if i am on my opponents head and i like the t-shape because its easier on long range to aim for heads. I dont line up nades with the top of my crosshair any way, but i have a bind to display the massive crosshair over the whole screen if I have a nade where I need to line it up with the top of the crosshair.
Love follow recoil after getting used to it. I know the m4A4/S and AK patterns but it makes me way more comfortable on half-buy rounds and longer sprays. I do have a bind to turn it off but that’s exclusively for Deagle rounds since the heavy recoil makes it annoying to aim while waiting for the cross hair to re-center.
I got a bindtoggle on follow recoil, and switching to secondary (2) instantly toggles off

For some reason I find using crosshairstyle 5 for pistol makes pistols easier, but makes rifling harder because it's just too distracting lmao, as a result I use crosshairstyle 5 with a dot when I press 2 and crosshairstyle 4 without a dot when I press 1
Hey Austin, so I am on a stage right now that I am really trying to find what’s the best crosshair for me… I am trying to understand if the dot is good for me or if the crosshair that has a little gap in the middle.The dot that I use is the thing you call “really bad crosshair”.. My main issue is that in long range fights the “gap in the middle crosshair” is not that accurate (or at least that’s what I feel like), what I mean is that even though the head of the enemy is in the gap, it’s still not a headshot. What should I do in order to understand what suits me? (Resolution is 2560x1440). Love your videos bro keep up the amazing work!
i still use type 5, i just like it if i need to do some wild high to low spray transfer, the tope of the crosshair can be sett to the max "'Hight" of the spray. there is a bind for follow crosshair you can make it only on for smgs, not anything else
can you make a video about listing good aim training workshop maps like the prefiring, seems like I can't find any good workshop maps for aim training
There's a script that makes follow recoil OP, it resets the crosshair to center as soon as you let go of mouse 1

pretty ironic that the race to find the best crosshair meta in cs2 got up to the pros because now all of the crosshairs in the crashz map are outdated. just watch any demo and you'll see.
I am still surprised most pros dont use outline, in CSGO it was fine without it but in CS2 i cant see shit if i dont have the outline, everything is too damn bright. But then the outline sometimes blocks the vision so its a trade off

6:08 I use this one from Niko but it's a little bigger and prettier. I play native, and with this gap I can fit the enemy's head. Most people don't care about this, but they don't know how nice it is to play at high level in 1080p with beautiful crosshair. It's so satisfying to watch my own screen. Jesus, someone convince the PROs to abandon 4:3

We need a crosshair style that only expands if you're moving and not when you're shooting.
Dot is best crosshair
You don't even need workshop maps for the crosshair anymore.
Just go into the options -> game -> crosshair.
Also, instead of legacy crosshair try classic static with follow recoil on.
its not only for new players, i been playing this game for 24 years and i started using follow recoil with static thick cross with outline and its superb
The workshop map is very easy and it lets you try them in game as you’re finding what you want
@@BeowulfGaming workshop map is nice to have to try out some pro crosshairs. and also if you're experienced at the game (and good) follow recoil is just an annoyance.
The in menu system is shit. This map save people time
