Shots 1-5: Clearly missed. Shots 6-9: Missed due to recoil (bad spray control). Shots 10-11: Very close, but recoil and inaccuracy make these reasonable misses. Shot 12: Likely didn't actually fire because iNoToRiOuS was already dead.

I thought about all these nuances right after testing the MP5 a few days after its release. My conclusion is that this is a nostalgic weapon; that's it. Valve didn't bother to do all the work of balancing it.
A legit solution is reverting it back to its CS Source state: no suppressor (which in shooter logic means +2 damage) and increase the fire rate and to compensate the recoil can be increase
Honestly, I like seeing the SD variant getting some spotlight in popular shooters like CS. The MP5 comes in different forms, while the classic model is classic, its also a bit overrated.
In CS to Source, this thing was ridiculously good, I can tell you that much. Shame that they didnt throw that thing in as an alternative to the MP7 tbh
Mp5 is good when you shoot with it in short bursts, it has low recoil, high accurasy (but pretty wild spray pattern and the lowest damage between smgs, so you cant just spray n pray) and comparing to mp7, its much more mobile. The only reason to use it, if you want to play agressive as with mp9 and be accurate as with mp7. You can go only for headshots with this thing to make it efficient, fortunately, its the most accurate smg (but not in running and spraying))
For me, it’s the most fun smg, if you get the taps or the first recoil right, you can easily kill them and it gives you more motivation. Always had it on my inventory
Issue with MP5 is that in older titles it was the defacto "MP7". Cheap, good dmg, spray-able. With MP7 in CSGO , MP5 struggles , being a sort of ninja weapon as you run with it faster than other SMGs , if I remember correctly. Kind of a shame really that it wasnt in CSGO from get go.
@@crunch.dot.73 It's got 235 move speed. MP9/MAC-10/Bizon have 240, MP7 has 220, P90/UMP have 230. So compared to its direct competitor the MP7, it's notably faster, but still slower than the cheap rapid fire SMGs. Unless you're a god at stealth plays, just get an MP9 or Mac-10

Ive found that the MP5 has decent precision if you go from running to walking. The first 1-2 shots while walking are pretty accurate so if you can hit headshots in close range its not bad.

For starters, both the MP5 and the MP7 have the exact same armor penetration in CS! iNoToRiOuS claiming otherwise is just him trying to apply IRL gun logic to the in-game weapons, but the actual armor pen stat for both weapons is the same. They also have the exact same recoil pattern, and while the MP7 does 2 extra damage per shot than the MP5, they still have roughly the same shots to kill at close range. Also, the MP5 is the ONLY way to consistently acquire a weapon with a suppressor on T side. Lurking as a T and sneaking around with a suppressed weapon is a very powerful tactic sometimes because you can use it to take counter-terrorists by surprise and hold positions they don't expect you to, and the MP5-SD can poise itself as an accessible tool to do so, even if it's kinda weak. Even with the finite buy menu slots introduced in CS2, I'm certain that it's far from the worst weapon the game has to offer.

As a vivid MP5 user who wins late rounds with just the SMG, I gotta tell you chief, its not the weapon that's the problem. That compilation of you body-shotting everyone from a distance with a SMG pretty much speaks for itself. Especially since the spray pattern for MP5 is VERY easy to master. Since its a SMG, you have to use your mobility to get close, and since your accuracy won't change much no matter how much you move, you can use that to your advantage too and gain more freedom in your engagements. A rifle user has to be wary of their positioning and movement to remain accurate unlike a SMG user who jukes and flanks without worry if they'll miss their mark. The money rewards for kills are also incredible, you'll be the bank for your team and save rounds by having enough to drop everyone something.
Agreed. I main MP5 and PP bizonnalmost throughout the entire game. Rack up about 8-16k by half time. I believe, that if you master smgs, you can have a lot of fun. And an emeny with a rifle doesnt mean youre boned - since again, its the player, and not the gun.

I don't play csgo but one that i think would make the MP5SD pretty neat is not showing the directional damage you're taking. So lets say you shoot someone with it, they get that red half circle pointing in the direction you got shot from. Instead of that it's a red full circle meaning you don't know where you got shot from all you know is that you're getting shot at.

i will admit, i kinda main the mp5sd, its really tight spread makes it one of the best head tapping machines in the game, prolly the only smg you actually need to aim with tbh, its also really good as a pressure weapon, using it will frags or something.
I don't know if it's just a me thing, but I absolutely love using the MP5. All the points in your video aside from the partial damage inconsistency have either rarely bothered me or don't even exist. The MP5 is a great weapon for holding corners on maps like Dust 2 and when used competently it plays smooth like warm butter. Also the design and sound never fail to tickle my soft-spot for gun aesthetics.
i think why MP5SD is still quite a choice (eventhough something like Five-seveN or KEK-9 is better) because you can reliably outpeek someone from mid. Unless you try to forcebuy M4A1. And since Inferno mid is now larger and ramp is much higher, peeking it now is quite easier...
Yeah It's still pretty accurate gun, but if you can't shoot on the head with the thing, don't bother buying it. Kinda the same as the MP9, a very small recoil and good first bullet accuracy to hit the head level even at medium range, so for bursting it's ok... but spraying isn't that easy, if you don't know how to play Mp7 either (compared to Mac10 least). You just pay for the silencer over Mp9 without having any other perks for it.
I feel like this should've had csgo in the title but I get wanting the traffic from 2 coming out. I just wish your first cs2 video would have cs2 content and points in it but still enjoyed the video had lots of laughs.
one thing they could do to make the MP5 more unique would be by adding the good old taped mags, giving the player a fast reload on the first reload of 1.5 second as all you're doing is flipping the mags then give it 4.5 seconds reload on the 2nd to reflect the change of magazines, it would be a nice pop culture reference to die hard and various other kinds of media

I don't play csgo but I use the MP5 in CSS occasionally. It is the exact same 81 dmg in 7 shots kind of gun, but at least it seems a lot easier to hit headshots in that game (I don't even know if 2 headshots up close can kill someone with a helmet though lol) I don't really understand why everyone says the MP5 was a great gun in CSS, I think it's just as "good" as it seems to be in csgo (not very) but I also started playing CSS about a year ago so how would I know lol
Damn, I often used this SMG when I play on CT side because of its supressor and high rate of fire. Now I see how's that a big chungus mistake that is... Though I can confirm it makes a "Rock Lee dropping his weights against his fight vs. Gaara" effect when I pick up an actual rifle
It's not the worst weapon, you just don't know how to use it. MP5 is great on wingman where you can get quick taps without giving your location away completely. The generally smaller maps mean it is also effective.
they should a secondary feature where you can extend the stock which should lower your movment speed and decrease the weapons recoil to a minimum, maybe then there would be some circumstances where this weapon could se use
honestly Mp5sd is not really that bad, i often got like 3 kills while run and gun with it, and also it's really good on first few rounds at the start of the match, but in most cases, just don't force buy it.
To be fair theres a reason why the MP7 and the P90 was created and the MP5 seeing rapid retirement across Police and Military unite across the world. Kevlar armour had rendered lower powered bullets to be mere BB's against the wearer which lead to a need for a new SMG with new calibers to defeat the new body armor that was giving the MP5 many trouble. The P90 eventually won out in the NATO tests in which the P90 proceeded to outperform the MP7 in nearly all aspects excluding customisation but didn't see NATO adoption due to Germany VETOing the weapon, and in the gun being heavily nerfed just so it doesn't wipe the floor against other SMG's. But theres a quote i made for the people that still is the MP5: "The 1960's legend had fallen but some diehard users still stick with it despite its outdated wear against body armour, Do they care? No. But that's what separates them from everyone else, because now they gave you a new fear. Not simply being killed but being killed in an embarrassing show of loosing against a 65 year old gun with a closed casket funeral to go along with it"

The only way I see the MP5 fixed in GO/CS2 is to bump its statistics to match that of the old MP5s in 1.6/Source. The MP5 then was a beast

Before cs2, the mp5 had a tighter spray pattern. This made it ideally used for bursts to the head, if you can't do that, it's a skill issue.

I feel like this should've had csgo in the title but I get wanting the traffic from 2 coming out. I just wish your first cs2 video would have cs2 content and points in it but still enjoyed the video had lots of laughs.
one thing they could do to make the MP5 more unique would be by adding the good old taped mags, giving the player a fast reload on the first reload of 1.5 second as all you're doing is flipping the mags then give it 4.5 seconds reload on the 2nd to reflect the change of magazines, it would be a nice pop culture reference to die hard and various other kinds of media

For the first minute I couldn't even understand why is he speaking Russian, but then ai started to revealing itself. Ai is trying to fit Russian(Spanish and other) speech in your English sentence in time and it's kinda working. I hope I wrote it correctly😅.

I don't play csgo but I use the MP5 in CSS occasionally. It is the exact same 81 dmg in 7 shots kind of gun, but at least it seems a lot easier to hit headshots in that game (I don't even know if 2 headshots up close can kill someone with a helmet though lol)

@@ced5552 The mp5sd was designed to be used by special forces. The special forces unit that popularized the mp5 was the british SAS.
That suppressor was designed to turn supersonic 9mm into subsonic to keep it quiet so it was probably some engineer at H&K

Damn, I often used this SMG when I play on CT side because of its supressor and high rate of fire. Now I see how's that a big chungus mistake that is... Though I can confirm it makes a "Rock Lee dropping his weights against his fight vs. Gaara" effect when I pick up an actual rifle

It's not the worst weapon, you just don't know how to use it. MP5 is great on wingman where you can get quick taps without giving your location away completely. The generally smaller maps mean it is also effective.

they should a secondary feature where you can extend the stock which should lower your movment speed and decrease the weapons recoil to a minimum, maybe then there would be some circumstances where this weapon could se use

honestly Mp5sd is not really that bad, i often got like 3 kills while run and gun with it, and also it's really good on first few rounds at the start of the match, but in most cases, just don't force buy it.
Or just buy a mp9 for 300$ less and it s a better gun for every situation
To be fair theres a reason why the MP7 and the P90 was created and the MP5 seeing rapid retirement across Police and Military unite across the world.
Kevlar armour had rendered lower powered bullets to be mere BB's against the wearer which lead to a need for a new SMG with new calibers to defeat the new body armor that was giving the MP5 many trouble.
The P90 eventually won out in the NATO tests in which the P90 proceeded to outperform the MP7 in nearly all aspects excluding customisation but didn't see NATO adoption due to Germany VETOing the weapon, and in the gun being heavily nerfed just so it doesn't wipe the floor against other SMG's.
But theres a quote i made for the people that still is the MP5:
