great to be able to work alongside the kiddo! i have memories of working with my dad (different trade) but i will never forget that. thanks for a nice break in the grind 👍🏼✌🏼
Bruh ur videos are on point! The bees are out now! Im working out in an orchard on a farmall and the bees are out! Boxes everywhere! It’s hammer time for you have a good one and be safe!
I started using little squares of bathroom mat in my little feeders like that .. Only thing ive found stopped the drowning in those ...tried sticks straw hardware cloth nothin was as good as that cheap bath mat.. People are using the thick stuff in open feeders or just double it up
Great tip man! I've accepted that we can't save all of them from drowning but if we can help them in anyway I think its always worth the effort. Thanks for dropping a comment, always good to have other beeks share their ideas and experiences.
Thanks for sharing! You certainly have a good helper there, better and better as he gets older. I picked up a handful of those nuc boxes to try this year, what do you paint them with? Standard exterior paint? Best wishes for a 2021 "bear free" season.
Thanks Scott for checking out the video! Everyday we work, Max asks if he can go! They are less at GloryBee but they are currently out of stock; difference between GloryBee and MannLake are wood verses plastic.
I was curious... I have some of these. They are fun. But... I got some wax moths that messed up a few of them. I'm curious if the material in these is strong enough to handle the heat in automated kitchen dishwashers? (Or a kitchen dishwasher that has a cold setting?)
Hi Noah, that is a great question that we do not have the answer to, but what I can say is that when we get wax moths in ours, we just scrap out whatever we can and let the bees do the rest of the work when we start the nuc up again the following round. That has seemed to work for us. If you try the dishwasher, let us know how it goes!
We don't, we just make sure there is the right amount of bees and enough feed for them to draw foundation. We store them enclosed for 3 days to ensure the bees draw out wax before setting them out and open doors.
How you ever heard about american foulbrood, european foulbrood, nosema ceranae? Do you know how to sterilize hives - have you ever done it? Are you leaving death brood in frames? Not changing combs every season for mininucs? Damn, it's so easy in USA, maybe different biology :)
Hey man thanks so much for watching. We do our best to help the bees by cleaning up the tough stuff. We are thankfully not familiar with AFB or EFB in our Apairy. It definitely is not easy to keep bees alive and healthy but being proactive with giving the girls what they need in order for them to thrive is key for us. From treating regiment to a good diet. Thanks my man
@@TheCaliforniaBeekeeper can you tell me which races are most popular at your country? What ppl in USA are buying? Like 40% italians 40% carnica 10% others? Or how it is? Greetings from Europe.
Graft from 3 day old larva, install on day 10(from graft date) (cell hatches on day 16)catch 14 days after hatch. All this scheduling is based on perfect weather😐🙏
I LOVE how hard your little guy works along side of you. You and your wife are doing a super job with him.
Thank you Beverly! We are learning as we go, but Max really genuinely loves the bees! He is heartbroken if he doesn't get to work!

Maximus picks so much up from just being around he is a great little helper. Thanks for the support Tim🤜🤛
@Tim we prefer the exterior flat Baer premium. We dont hesitate to spend a little more in order to protect them from the weather
How do I get a better deal on these, Mann Lake want a bit much. Love to see Max learning work ethics good job Mom and Dad.

Do you use some type of pheromone strip like Queentemp in new nucs with no drawn comb?
We don't, we just make sure there is the right amount of bees and enough feed for them to draw foundation. We store them enclosed for 3 days to ensure the bees draw out wax before setting them out and open doors.
What is the probability of mating and what is the way to mating well?
We feel that a 65% acceptance and return take is a success on the first round of mating. We have many drone yards surrounding our mating nuc yards.
I figured you were getting them from glory bee they have the best deal have a business account with them .. Like 10.95 last i got a price ....
It's gone up since then but still have competitive prices
