Loved seeing that spawning pool snipe from byun. Against ling bane comps if you kill the spawning pool it just takes so long for the zerg to start producing anything that you can just stomp all over them for the next minute and gain a massive advantage.
@@nealmarasinghe7755 waste of money. It's so rare pool snipes happen, in favour of drone kills/because of ling bane being pretty good at drop defence, that spending on a second pool just slows you down. But it's one of the things that i always get disappointing at when people have the opportunity to do so and don't.
6:26 finally somebody figured it out. Not only do you saturate resources on your opponent’s side of the map, you reduce the effectiveness of worker harassment at those back bases.
@@carlmarl6531You lose if you don't do it anyway if you are playing a strong terran. So you should think a way to deal with potential problem it would have rather then just close your eyes and turtle at your side
Holy shit. Watching Byun split and micro is amazing. I thought he was done for in Game 2 but he made Ragnarok bleed as much as possible on the push into the main base. The scattered units that sniped the Zerg reinforcement were game changing.
Give a Terran a Reaper, and he'll look pretty lame. Give Byun three Reapers, and he'll win you the game. Also, allowing Zerg to grow late game will bring about Ragnarok.
I was literally just skipping the end of 2nd game, as Byun obviously missed the gg timing. Then I found later in the video that it was somehow 1-1. Then I returned and couldn't believe my eyes. Real miracle.
Byun has become the king of trades. You can attack him with superior numbers, but he'll make you pay so badly for it that it you'd better kill him or else.. Truly great player 🕺
Ragnarok's game style reminds me of a mix of Reynors killer instinct and Darks stubborness that tends to either lead to big wins or massive inefficient fights
I get the concept behind the zerg race and their swarm, but when it gets to a point where zerg can remax late game on the cheapest yet strongest units in late game (zerg/baneling), I think it's ridiculous. Zerg can literally take any engagement and waste thousands of resources without any penalties due to their huge banks and larva. And I think that the biggest culprit is creep. Creep allows zerg to take lots of bases and defend them effectively with just Ling baneling. Personal opinion: creep needs a rework, right now it's just too strong.
Marines, Ghosts and SiegeTanks are strong ngl, but I've never really seen Thors popping off other than 1 very early Thor strategy. In the late game, countering Thors is insanely easy.
Burrow may have helped... but he was quite far behind... the opener for byun was .. I really like the two base punish Terran can do with a slightly delayed 3rd for that first initial push really cuts deep. See it another.. 16 marines... followed up with tanks it's a hard push... atim pack would be interesting... if zero could endlessly delay marine upgrades and then kill the sci depot over and over is it possible... hmm
Yeah, when all you can do is hit the "Baneling" key, you don't deserve to win against someone of Byun's caliber. Imagine Zerg having to do something other than make 70 Zerglings and attack-move them forward...
Dude ragnarok won the early game so hard byun turtled for 20 minutes and gave ragnarok like 14k more resources from bases on his side of the map. If you can’t even mine half of your contestable bases you don’t deserve to win against someone of ragnaroks caliber. This is the guy who KO’d Serral at the biggest sc2 tournament of the year
Orbital command is 550 minerals, 9 of them is crazy amount of 4950, it is not that op as you think, just as planetary fortess, which get expired due to broodlord appearance pretty fast
If terrans wouldn't trade more cost effeciently against zerg, they would auto lose most games since zerg is allowed to have the best economy. And so terran wasn't really that much behind, as you think they were.
I hate Mules so much. There should be a special supply limit to them or they should take up supply to use. Like 0.5 supply like a ling, but the ability to go almost no workers late game together with the incredibly cost efficient units of Terran it's a really badly balanced unit lategame. OR make them cost more energy to cast the more you have on the field. Sure you can use them as much as before but you need to either spend apm on them like Zerg with larvae OR waste energy on casting multiple ones to quickly mine out a single base.
At 23 minutes.. di a larval push and infest fungal.. move all broods into the terrans main and kill the broods off in a forcing pathing of the thors... you kill as much production and thousands coming up the ramp... while broods die, you switch over to mass roaches, hydralisks or kings, since they are fully upgraded.. attack the north.. that's about... 200 lings... then you build an adaptive army with you cash left... that's all in laye game with zero.. at 6k resources you can hit very hard without about a 300 supply attack all in with in 30 seconds, or 150 supply bam 150 supply... yeah... 95 percent broods to main.. as much damage as possible... to all things infrastructure and system damage... 2 broods saved I north perhaps... the mass links to the north is killing the mining and will be super effective against the third slowly wonder back from the main give rag about.. 17 seconds before the first one shows. Zero overwhelm power.. lol
I remember terrans whining about Mass infestor. Building Mass Ghosts is Fine to them somehow. Ghosts Are simply too broken, they Counter absolutely everything. They have strong Auto attack, the strongest spells in the Game, they Are super fast and they Are the only Unit terran needs to micro in Late Game. Zerg has to do 10 times More to Even stand a Chance against the ultimate lategame Unit. They honestly Need a hotnerf. And this Time a real nerf. The „nerf“ does absolutely jackshit. Broodlords Are too Slow to escape the snipe range. So they will always Hit unless they do Not take damage. I wish you could make Ultras against them ( so that they cant get sniped) But sadly this is Not the case.
@@Santisima_Trinidad Infestors are part of the problem imo. Having a unit that has a splash damage "you are no longer able to micro your units" ability (fungal) is not great for the tempo of gameplay. The ghost is a problem, but the infestor isn't the solution.

When these two cast my brain cry ....back and back and back and back and back and back OMG

Byun just kept getting better and better with each game. It's like he picked up a couple gears in game 2 and then a couple more in game 3.
So good to see ByuN back in form after getting back from the military service. Although I hope his wrists are doing alright after this match.
Always great to hear ZG casting!
That new BW tweak was so needed.
15:28 this fight was insane
On top of that, PiG casting makes this 10x better
Ragnarok stepped his game up... by a lot.
I am somewhat impressed.
27:06 Feels like a campaign mission
@27:45 Zombiegrub's zerg nature coming through 😂
First time hearing pig and zombie grub casting. A good duo for sure

May I ask at what MMR ur playing?
@Hyena9324 he is talking about pro play, he doesn't talk about you playing zerg at silver level.

Ragnarok played very well the macro game of the first match

What are those things floating above the overlords?
I assume you're talking about the overseers. They have a transform mode where they seige up losing movement but gaining increased vision.

It is a little bright. But it doesn't bother me.
Maybe you have that UA-cam option enabled where they video's lighting goes outside of the video box itself? There's a way to disable that.
