  • In this video, I am taking you step-by-step through my process of creating a loose oil painting of a cookie falling in some milk. I hope this will inspire and help you, whether its the first time you pick up a brush or if you are a more seasoned artist.
The focus lies on not getting lost in details.
❓If you have any questions or requests, I'd love to read about it in the comments. Please know that my materials are mentioned at the bottom of this text.
📷The reference picture was taken from the weekly hosted #foodpaintchallenge and you can find it on my Instagram page. If you enjoy painting and would like to paint this subject yourself, be sure to check it out! Also, feel free to use one of the older references on instagram! All are free to use, and there is no consent needed when you sell your art works based on these references.

🖼️The surface I’m painting on is a small MDF panel by the brand “Muspaneel”. They are very smooth, so I always add a layer of gesso on it with. This creates some extra “tooth” and a lovely texture! After that, I put a thin layer/wash of burnt sienna acrylic paint, just to get the white off. (There is a video available on prepping panels: See it here • How to prepare the per... )
👨‍🎨The paint I use is a special oil paint (Cobra, from Royal Talens) which you can thin by using water instead of spirits. Other than that, it's the same as regular oil paint.
🖌️ For brushes I use the cobra brand brushes, and for smaller sizes I use Mus brushes.
🎨 On the palette for this painting:
    - titanium white
    - yellow ochre
    - burnt umber
    - king's blue
    - ultramarine blue
    - paynes grey
