- In this video, I got to the Nether in Nothing Skyblock. If you don't know that is, it's a challenge where you're on a Skyblock island, except you don't get the tree or the chest. Even in this ridiculous circumstance, you can still play through the game(it just takes forever).

This video is about a Minecraft Skyblock challenge. Similar to aCookieGod and his Hardcore One Block series and ezY and his Hardcore Skyblock series. This is a different kind of video compared to the normal Hardcore Minecraft videos I normally make which are inspired by Sandiction, ACookieGod, Wunba, WadZee, Aidn, Skyes, Wildez, Mello, and people from SMPs like Grian and Mumbo Jumbo from Hermitcraft, Parrot, 4CVIT, ashswagg, baconwaffles0, BranzyCraft, ClownPierce, ItzSubz_, JumperWho, Leow0ok, Mapicc, McClutchYT, and rekrap2 from the Lifesteal SMP, and Technoblade and Dream from the Dream SMP.

19:10 "I built this all out of snow so the lava won't set the wood of the island on fire." I find this so very funny as it shows just how spotty Minecraft physics can be at times. Lava can catch wood on fire and melt ice but it can't melt snow for some reason.

This is what I love so much about Minecraft physics. It makes no sense and that’s so funny to me. Even the fact that a human can safely carry around multiple buckets of lava is so crazy. And that a person in Minecraft has the strength to carry up to 36 full stacks of anvils, but can die from getting hit with a single one in the head. The physics are wacky and I love it.

@@silh3345also they are 2 blocks tall with either means they are 2 meters tall and have a 1 meter vertical jump or very short and cant jump very well

You know what, that way of getting lava is pretty fair instead of just spawning it in, giving more of a challenge
That was my thinking too.
i forgot the name of the youtuber that did this but it was skyblock but you start with just a tree and the lava method was getting it from completing a raid and weaponsmiths or toolsmiths would have a chance to give you lava buckets. (mod)

Challenges like these are what make simple or seemingly useless features necessary for completion. Like wandering traders, dripleaf, foxes holding items, etc

About mobs now being able to spawn at your portal because you placed slabs to make it look better.
You can just make a cobblestone generator since you have lava and water now. With the cobble you can make a furnace to burn logs for charcoal.
With that charcoal you can make torches and place them on your portal to make that area not be able to spawn mobs.
regular piglins can still spawn on the block because of the portal.

Sure, but that's not the problem he was complaining about. He was saying that now mobs can spawn because he had to build it one half block higher to make it look good.
For mobs coming from the nether, he could just surround the portal with fences.
@@ardynizunia9709 with the new update I doubt they will spawn because the nether portal gives off enough light though maybe I ain't remembering and you do need a light source, either way not a huge deal

7:36 the wandering trader had a tropical fish in a bucket so it was an easy way to get water but you killed him

I love how you use so many game mechanics we tend to overlook for this series, like cauldrons, dripstones and even the stronghold's lava. I would normally forget those things in a normal survival world, but here they are essential

Once you get a cobblestone gen then it’s basically just normal skyblock
The most important advancement from the portal is golden apples to get villagers, then you open up a ton more things

Man you are putting so much work into this series, thank you! I was overjoyed when you finally made it to the nether, I didn’t think I could feel so excited about it. You are doing the impossible and the effort is paying off! I hope you keep at it but no pressure if the grind wears on you after this long.
I would love the cadence of your voice from the previous two videos back, the way your voice is in this, is perfect for your hardcore series but i was loving the calm vibes of the previous two for this series in particular

Good solution but wasnt satisfied by how the portal had to be found. Maybe should have explained why he did it that way.

@@ajfriet maybe via trading with a villager. He was already on the look for an apple. Thats why he was looking for an oak tree sapling
@@Bertu_XYZ nope from what I've read online the only other way is trading with a level 3/4 cleric and in nothing Skyblock no normal villagers spawn
@@ajfriet you can only get pearls from that not eyes so it doesn't work, also you can get normal villagers through gold from lightning striking pigs into golden apples and weakness potions from witches
Keep the editing with your style, these videos are chill and I like them. As much as I like some of the hyper-edited ones, I like the ones that really take TIME with important parts of the videos to appreciate or take stuff in.

This is such a great series, I feel like so many of these types of challenges involve glitches that just ruin any sense of interest, but your series doesn’t and I think that makes it one of the best and most interesting skyblock challenges I’ve ever watched :). That way of getting lava was also so fair and kept it unique. I look forward to the next episodes!
Enthusiastically subscribed to you. You remind me of old UA-cam, where it was just chill times and no screaming and aggressive text and multiple transitions. Just a very chill gameplay.
Did you know you can also get buckets of water from the wandering trader too! If you buy the bucket of fish and place it, kill the fish, then scoop the water back up, you have a bucket of water. The only think is I don’t know if it’s faster for a cauldron to fill up completely or for 5 foxes to spawn with an emerald since you would need 5 emeralds to get the trade. The benefit of the wandering trader is that you don’t have to waste iron to craft a bucket or gamble the trader dropping the milk bucket. Could be an interesting idea to see which is faster.

I had to use a lot of similar strategies in my Skyflat stream series, where I made a Superflat world with a single sand layer over air, so it left just the structures.
This is even harder, as the only structure you have is the End Portal room!

Im very excited to see the game statistics in the last episode, this is just wonderful to watch, I`ve also spent alot of time into how I could get lava
I love challenges like these because even stuff you take for granted in a normal skyblock is a hard grind like skyblock is a game where you learn everything you take for granted but this version expands that more like something like cobble dirt to even the block you expand with

Nah that’s just a data pack that most people use to be able to get lava on skyblock cuz most don’t have strongholds on their worlds

Minecraft physics are so weird to me. You can’t make a lava farm out of wood because the lava is too hot and will set the wood on fire, but somehow snow works perfectly fine for containing the lava. Minecraft is weird sometimes.

Watching these skyblock videos makes me wish lava could be accessible out of nothing. Skyblock and Superflat are like the only things keeping me away from being board of this game for some reason. Otherwise it's Vintage Story all the way.
