Equipment has gone up one third to one half . I’m debt free and I’m done buying this outrageous equipment. 30,000 for a new holland small square baler???? Crazy!!

That`s a bargain! Last year a farmer who supplies us with alfalfa hay paid $60,000 for a 2-tie baler made by CNH! His old 1 seemed perfectly good to me. I would have held off for a couple of more years before buying any new equipment. Of course we live in Oregon where everything is way overpriced.

"A lack of demand as a result of the general softening of the ag markets". You'd almost think they were saying there is no demand for food. For years the central banks gave away free low interest money until every company, government and individual was soaked with it. Non of these companies had to be profitable or well managed because the cost of servicing the ever expanding debt was minimal. Until they raise the interest rates to (get it)..historic norms.. like 6%. And then the whole economy blows up. Can you imagine it takes such a ridiculously low interest rate to tame so called inflation? These are not asset bubbles. They are debt bubbles. Every individual that borrowed vast sums of money to buy over priced ag machinery without considering the consequences of normalized interest rates got ( unfortunately) what they asked for.. Same goes for the Ag companies that build the product.

2010 an 8120 was about 300 k. Now that same class is over 700. And demand has dropped? No fooling.

All companies dealing with farmers want 10-15 percent more of their goods and services every year! Farmers are dealing with 2010 prices with their crops! Cannot buy the new paint when this is happening!

It’s weird, the dealers seem not to know. Three different dealers, three different brands, and I can’t even get a returned phone call lol
