    I haven’t tried any diets but what helped me is Prosacea. It’s a gel you put on your face

    • @Joanieloves
      @Joanieloves  Рік тому +2

      Hey Angelique, thanks for sharing the info. I just looked up Prosacea and see it has 10% sulphur which is the main active. Sulphur has been in use for lots of years as an antibacterial, antimicrobial ingredient - I think it also is anti-inflammatory - so I know how this get would be definitely helpful for you. Many years ago, when I was first giving clients facials for acne or rosacea - I would mix in sulphur with other ingredients like kaolin to make a mask to apply for 20 minutes to help skin problems. At that time when I was in my 20's - you couldn't buy face masks easily to help skin issues. 😊💛

    I think rosacea might be an allergy to nickel in food. Does anyone here with rosacea also get blisters from cheap jewelry or belt buckles?

      Hey Dan, thanks for the info. I do have an allergy to nickel as it used to be in most earrings and having pierced ears .....the skin on my ears became itchy and inflamed. This is a common allergy to have. Didn't realise that food contained nickel, so thank you for sharing! 👌😊

    I had it pretty bad for several years and when I eat probiotics or fermented foods it would cause the rosacea to get worse it was probably healing and helping my gut but the rosacea would get worse I had to keep at it so I removed the probiotics and fermented food for a time and slowly re-introduced them later but a whole foods diet definitely helps low sugar ! Low carb diet helps big time I’m doing keto and that has turned everything around for me

    This is a great video. The redness is one thing however it’s the feeling of sunburn that really gets me. My skin can look fine then suddenly - bang! Out of nowhere - my nose is red and oily with tiny pustules (tiny bumps). I think stress has a huge role as I try to eat really well - but it still I flush. It’s demoralising 😞

    • @Joanieloves
      @Joanieloves  3 роки тому +4

      Hey Charlie, thanks 🙏. So sorry tho' to hear about your rosacea 😔 - you are not alone. Stress will defo affect it by increasing the cortisol (stress hormone) which pushes out more oil causing more problems. You need to walk outside where there are trees for a good couple of hours to get your stress levels down. Try yoga as the yogic breathing is really great to master for stress. Eating nutritionally well, wear sunscreen every single day - best with an all mineral one, light pressure when cleansing and applying products and NO HEAT eg hairdryer near your face. Have a great weekend!

My nose and cheeks are always red with bumps. I have been on medications but they have stopped working, not to mention they make me feel sick. I really want to make a change. Hope to see more of this content 😊💜.

      Hey Kara Bear.....so sorry to hear about your struggles with rosacea and acne. Just want to make sure you know the difference?? I have another few videos on my channel - just put those words in the search box - rosacea or acne and see what pops up. Mentioning this cause there are different ways to think about them. However they are both inflammatory skin disorders and I would urge you to get the nutrition thing right first eg. anti inflammatory foods ...and I am sure this will help massively, 2. control stress as best you can 3. always wear sunscreen and preferably one with zinc oxide as this also helps acne. Love and hugs to you ...ps. love ❤️ the name

      Hi Kara, I commented on this video yesterday and just saw yours. I'm not sure where you're located, but I use 2 different Aveda (botanical kinetics) products, and it's helped quite a bit. It's a bit pricey though.

  • @KristaWarcop

    Hello! I also have Rosacea, and what I've used that helps me are from Aveda... First one I use is the Botanical Kinetics Purifying Creme Cleanser followed by the Botanical Kinetics Hydrating Rich Creme. Now, it does cost quite a bit... Not going to lie, but even with using both twice a day it lasts me 6 months, and it's helped keep the flare ups at bay.

    • @Joanieloves
      @Joanieloves  3 роки тому +3

      @Sydney Comeau - I am so sorry 😔to hear that you suffer from rosacea. It's a tricky skin disorder to really understand. Sun, stress, alcohol (red wine especially), high intense exercise and smoking - all these aggravate rosacea. Think of anything that makes the blood vessels in your face dilate - as this will trigger your condition. So calming ingredients in skincare products, calming exercise such as yoga, learning to cope with stress, wearing big sunglasses and hats in the sun, wearing a mineral spf 30 every day as an environmental protector. If you can prevent heat for affecting your skin - you will be on your way to controlling your rosacea. No soap products or drying skincare products. No perfumed products. Light pressure when applying any lotions to your skin. These are a few tips and the video also (as you know) mentions anti-inflammatory foods. Here's a UA-cam hug coming through to you 😘🤗

    • @segwrites

      I’m very late to this, but I was right there with you. Turns out I had histamine intolerance which often presents on people’s skin; but I also have a permanent but in some cases controllable condition called Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (think a systemic version of histamine intolerance, affecting more than skin and/or gut health, but it can also affect neurological response, cognitive function, swelling, tachycardia, anaphylaxis but allergy testing of the specific trigger shows up as negative, etc.).
      Sticking to just histamine intolerance here, once I cut histamines completely from my diet (for 90 days for me, but I believe the recommended is a minimum of 6 weeks), I had a lot of the *other* rosacea issues under control-namely burst capillaries ceased, no more super-angry redness and inflammation in my cheeks, etc. But now I still flush with exposure to histamines whether ingested or triggered in my mast cells = the mast cell disorder.
      *I highly recommend seeing an immunologist before starting any diet so other issue(s) can be diagnosed or ruled out.* My mast cell condition started as flushing and presented as rosacea and gut/stomach problems; but after multiple life and bodily traumas, I started developing anaphylaxis to heat, extended (over 30 minutes…) direct sun exposure, legumes, caffeine, etc. Once you reach anaphylaxis stages, those triggers can never be controlled again. That’s why I will share with whoever needs to hear / see how important it is for these relatively unknown conditions to get acknowledged more often.
      I’m an open book if you have any questions, but, again, I highly recommend getting a referral to an allergist / immunologist who understands histamine intolerance, and also ask to be tested for MCAS / MCAD (Mast Cell Activation Syndrome / Disorder) for long-term health and safety.
      MCAD was harder to diagnose, and you need to have multiple symptoms to get diagnosed, but knowing and taking the proper actions, medications, and supplements has positively changed my life! And saved it. 😅

    • @Joanieloves
      @Joanieloves  3 роки тому

      Hey Wasi, rinophyma can take years from the original onset of rosacea and is more prevalent in men than women. If you are worried about this ...I would see your doctor. The rosacea diet looking at the 'gut' health should be something you consider and research as much as you can about what you should be eating. Steer clear of heat in any form, use a sunscreen everyday and wear a hat/sunglasses when outside. Look at Dr Ken Berry and Dr Eric Berg about nutrition for rosacea. Good luck 🤞 🍀 💙

    • @Joanieloves
      @Joanieloves  3 роки тому +2

      Hey Kara, absolutely!! Thank you for sharing.....green tea is anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and believed to help prevent UV damage and I would 💯 take it for rosacea. I would be careful if you were drinking it, not to make it 'too hot' and try to let it cool down before sipping. I personally drink a cup of green tea every day. I would try CeraVe hydrating lotion SPF as your moisturiser as it is gentle and contains niacinamide as well as being an SPF 30. I think the CeraVe hydrating cleanser is worth a try too - I have tried this personally and liked it. The key things are to keep away from heat eg. no sun, no hot hairdryers, no hot stoves etc - be wary of putting heat near to your face. SPF is a must during the daytime and be good to have very gentle pressure when cleansing and moisturising. Good luck 😉 😘
