Nice interview. I've been playing 2 years, current average 44, lifetime 180s in games and practice around 20 (stopped counting after 10) Last 2 months averaging 2 hours practice a day. Best 99 darts at treble 20 17%. My goal is to get to regular 50 average. Problem i have, fine in practice, nervous as fuck in matches...
When i started getting into darts i came across Matthew's face a few times and thought nothing of it. Now after nearly a year, it feels natural to watch an EdgarTV video, or listen to Matthew on the Modus Super Series aswell as the Mission YT channel. I even got a set of free EdgarTV flights with one of my dartshopper orders, so it feels like i'm part of the gang :D
I’m a former golfer that’s now Obsessed with darts since January 2024. (Thanks Luke littler). Matt nailed it on the levels conversation. I’m in the states which means I know less than everyone about darts but I’m now a student of the game (at 46 yo unfortunately). I’m decent but here’s how I would describe the level. Averaging 80-90 is the equivalent of being a scratch golfer in golf. And being scratch is much easier than 90 average.
That was a brilliant interview. Well done getting Matt on your channel. You've set the bar high now. I can't wait to see who you can get next? Well done
If you think this then you won't be a good dart player or have the wrong attitude..in darts you will get smashed lose nearly 90% of games and that is a fact..learn to lose and then one day you will learn to win and that's darts..keep going and after a while you will bring the practice board to the comps and pub leagues
I’d only started playing like less than 2 month ago it would take me probably 21 darts to hit a bullseye I reckon if not more😂would probs take me 40 hours straight to get to 10
as starting out i would ask you to not think of this drill they are talking about. I think starting off working on more of the basics help the most. posture, form and throw are what youre looking for. I have a friend im working with and its been about a year and he can now 3 in a bed i call out. I can see the joy as he improves. there is a big difference between aiming for it and just hitting it.
Great interview, Sam. Looking forward to many more 👍🏼🎯

He’s a great guy
Matt has a series level 1-10 for training. Definitely recommend. Brought me up 20 points fast
He has some great content!

Going to have to watch this interview a few more times... so much great info to absorb
Glad you enjoyed it! Hope it helps your game!

Appreciate that mate. Next guest is another top bloke!
30 years ago it was the same you need some luck to get there and i was a week in engeland to get sponserd but at the end no luck
Pub darts hurt my confidence. I went in thinking I was good and kept just being mediocre. I wish I waited at least another year
