Chief Tecumseh was a great Native American warrior chief who was leader of a large tribal confederacy which opposed the United States during Tecumseh's War.
Although his efforts to unite Native Americans ended with his death in the War of 1812, he became an iconic folk hero in American, Indigenous, and Canadian history.

Not everyone can have or enjoy this" then you are looking at the world wrong, from a place of hubris. We so often take things for granted that others would give anything to have. And he is saying in this line, that if you can not recognize that fact, then it is you that is wrong. . . .not the world

I'm a descendant of Chief Murroway Opessa, Tecumseh's grandfather. There's a very interesting dichotomy between the two men. Thank you very much for the video, I hope it inspires many people.

If you don't agree or like some aspect of another person; that is absolutely your right, although you might ask yourself 'why', but that's completely up to you, and not my business. But as I know you understand; all people deserve to be treated with equal respect and given equal rights as fellow human beings. What many are referring to as cancel culture are consequences for words or behaviors that any minority group - women, Blacks, Asians, Native Peoples, LGBT people, immigrants, etc. - would feel as being intolerant and/or abusive speech and behavior. Sometimes consequences come with social media denouncement, sometimes in public demonstrations, or if certain words or behaviors reflect poorly on a business; the owners/employers may deem as reason for termination. They're in business to make money, after all, and if an employee says or does something that hits their pocketbooks, well - that's capitalism. The only entity under our Constitution that cannot regulate speech on the populace (unless that speech is libelous, seditious, etc.) is the Government. That's all there is to it. I truly wish you well and hope, as do you, that the United States becomes much more 'united' - the sooner, the better. :)

This struck home. As a woman and one with less time ahead of her than behind, death has become a constant companion in my thoughts. Somehow, I'll find my deathsong. And if, when my time comes, I'm in no fit state to sing it, then it will be sung silently. In my mind and heart. And perhaps I too can be a hero going Home. For I've never had a true Home throughout what passes for life.

Interesting:) I've personally always thought we should constantly seek to improve. Whether that be physical, spiritual or mental, getting smarter, stronger and better is just amazing. If humans weren't meant to improve, we would still down in the forests of Africa.. wondering what could have been. There really are few joys greater than conquering the obstacles in your path!

@@50shekels I think it best not just to seek self-improvement. Further, seek to improve the world around you -- your own environment, and other people.
It should be a symbiotic relationship. In improving your environment, you will notice your own growth and development (and happiness!). By improving self, you develop more tools to help those around you, and your world.
I totally agree about the sense of accomplishment when one conquers an obstacle, ready to move on to the next. We should, at least momentarily, relish these moments.

Hearing the wise speak is a great joy to me and brings great comfort to the soul in ways like nothing else, spare one. The only greater treasure, I feel, is to pass on what I've heard to those yet in the dark.
Just as one human to another, what a great man he was.. I live his words every day, even before I read this, so he's in my heart. I'm not native, but just a woman who feels deeply. These words are what my church teaches. Hope that statement clears up some things I read about belonging to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Day Saints. In the long trek to Utah 200 plus years ago, Native Americans and our pioneers helped each other. Persecution was sorrow for both. ❤

Truly profound and yet such a simple lesson that we can learn from as we make our way through this life.
The land of the free and the home of the brave - whenever I hear that phrase I think of the indigenous Indians who were in North America before the colonists. Then, they were free and brave. Doesn't take much bravery to massacre people by means of overwhelming numbers and force. And afterward, the land isn't liberated. it's still stolen. Respect to the late writer Vine Deloria, Jr. who taught me a lot.
i see Pontiac's Rebellion as the first north American War of independence from the British. It led to the Royal Proclamation of 1763, the Treaty of Niagara 1764 ,The Covenant Chain Wampum presented by Sir William Johnson at the conclusion of the Council of Niagara. @domicile ubiquitis I've torn open my left leg exposing bone and flesh so it's always damaged and I removed all 32 teeth from my mouth I lost over 100 pounds from that been attacked before in my home state and still won that fight despite being hit in the face with a baseball bat it sucks but I learned a lot from it and we all try our best to be good

This is how I am trying to live my life and pass with no fear, but love and surrounded by those I love. Never leave angry. If you do, think. Do not react.
Why are you angry?
Are you hurt?
Do not react out of midbrain behavior, but with thought and excuse yourself until you can discuss it and squash a serious issue before it gets blown out of hand and it hurts all.
Think. Reflect. Contemplate. Face and attempt a very calm conversation. Usually both people are at fault. It is not a out fault or any of the such. Get down to the issue and try to creat a better understanding and repore with the person. If not possible, accept that it is not possible and respect yourself enough to walk away, if you can... Communication. Honesty. Trust. Nothing can really grow without it, in my humble opinion. We must help our brother/sister. Life is not easy, especially now. I am really working very hard to live with these wise words and better my life. Then, I can regain my like of myself and maybe learn to love myself. Regain my pride. Respect is given when it is shown.
Contemplate these wise words applicable to all humans, if you can.
