Yes! Excellent proverb. I was a school librarian for Navajo & taught 5th grade for Zuni. " There are two wolves fighting inside all of us. The first one is evil, the second one is good.... Which wolf will win? The one you Feed." This one quote right here speaks very high volumes, very deep,
The original is deeper An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life: “A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy. ”It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil - he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.” He continued, “The other is good - he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you - and inside every other person, too.” The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: “Which wolf will win?” The old Cherokee simply replied, “If you feed them right, they both win. You see, if I only choose to feed the white wolf, the black one will be hiding around every corner waiting for me to become distracted or weak and jump to get the attention he craves. He will always be angry and always fighting the white wolf. But if I acknowledge him, he is happy and the white wolf is happy and we all win. For the black wolf has many qualities - tenacity, courage, fearlessness, strong-willed and great strategic thinking - that I have need of at times and that the white wolf lacks. But the white wolf has compassion, caring, strength and the ability to recognize what is in the best interest of all. “You see, son, the white wolf needs the black wolf at his side. To feed only one would starve the other and they will become uncontrollable. To feed and care for both means they will serve you well and do nothing that is not a part of something greater, something good, something of life. Feed them both and there will be no more internal struggle for your attention. And when there is no battle inside, you can listen to the voices of deeper knowing that will guide you in choosing what is right in every circumstance. Peace, my son, is the Cherokee mission in life. A man or a woman who has peace inside has everything. A man or a woman who is pulled apart by the war inside him or her has nothing. “How you choose to interact with the opposing forces within you will determine your life. Starve one or the other or guide them both.”

God reveals some knowledge of the future. There's a 1-world government coming. The League of Nations was a step to that. the United Nations, another, closer step. Next comes a more powerful global government. Preplanned World War 3 is designed to make mankind see the need for a global government. Unfortunatley, the one masons and Jews build towards is for the devil to rule the world in the open, as he does now in secret.

These proverbs contain such wisdom. I want to share a letter Chief Sealth of the Duwanish Tribe in Washington wrote to President Franklin Pierce in 1855. "The Great Chief in Washington sends word that he wishes to buy our land. How can you buy or sell the sky-the warmth of the land? The idea is strange to us. Yet we do not own the freshness of the air or the sparkle of the water. How can you buy these from us? Every part of this earth is sacred to my people. Every shiny pine needle, every sandy shore, every mist in the dark woods, every clearing and humming insect is holy in the memory and experience of my people". "We know that the white man does not understand our ways. One portion of the land is the same to him as the next, for he is a stranger that comes in the night and takes from the land whatever he needs. The earth is not his brother but his enemy, and when he has conquered it he moves on. He leaves his father's graves and his children's birthright forgotten." There is no quiet place in the white man's cities. No place to hear the leaves of spring or the rustle of insect wings. But perhaps because I am savage and do not understand - the clatter only seems to insult my ears. And what is there to life if a man cannot hear the lovely cry of the whippoorwill or the arguments of the frogs around the pond at night." "The whites, too, shall pass-perhaps sooner than other tribes. Continue to contaminate your bed and you will one night suffocate in your own waste. When the buffalo are all slaughtered, the wild horses all tamed, the secret corners of the forest heavy with the scent of many men, and the view of the ripe hills blotted by talking wires. Where is the thicket? Gone. Where is the eagle? Gone. And what is it to say goodbye to the swift and the hunt, the end of living and beginning of survival."

Yes! Excellent proverb. I was a school librarian for Navajo & taught 5th grade for Zuni. Among Native American friends, or within their family: comfortable quiet is fine; don't feel the 'need' to fill the space with words. And when something is discussed, it's to reach a consensus. " There are two wolves fighting inside all of us. The first one is evil, the second one is good.... Which wolf will win? The one you Feed." This one quote right here speaks very high volumes, very deep,
The original is deeper
An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life: “A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy. The same fight is going on inside you - and inside every other person, too.” The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: “Which wolf will win?”
The old Cherokee simply replied, “If you feed them right, they both win.

What a long time to be gone; and a short time to be there.
Believe in yourselves and each other and never give up on your dreams and aspirations and remember to be kind and uplifting to each other and open minded and genuine and respectful and humble.
"Listen, or your tongue will make you deaf" And; "Better to have less thunder in the mouth, and more lighting and the hand". Love it!
Reminds me of "walk softly but carry a big stick".
“Remember that your children are not your own, but are lent to you by the Creator.”
I will respect my child as such and do my best to raise this child to do good.
I have 4 children and it’s the best thing in my life along with my wife.
The creator is still playing hide n seek
There's one about conservation I like even better: "We don't inherit the world from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children." I don't know if that's authentic Native American, but it harmonizes with the one about considering seven generations, which is.
@@johnmcpudding857 i steer it,
@@johnmcpudding857 there is no creator,
"When you were born, you cried and the world rejoiced. Live your life so that when you die, the world cries and you rejoice." 🦋
This is my favorite, too.
All of them spoke. This one spoke to me.
Great one indeed beautiful Misty 😏
Why did you kill that innocent flying butter, and stick it at the end of your comment?
@@scintillam_dei very strange in your perception of things 🧐
I thank creator for my native blood and my ancestors who walk with me.
Praying for protection for our land, and our people, our love/truth, our ways ❤️💛🤍🖤
Aho a lot of love ❤️ ❤️❤️

I listened to the sayings again! The speaker's voice makes them come alive - he is really, really good at it. The one that touches me the most is the this one:
"Walk lightly in the spring. Mother Earth is pregnant."
What is life?
It is a flash of firefly in the night
It is a breath of a buffalo in the wintertime.
It is as the little shadow that runs across the grass and loses itself in the sunset.
That is a really beautiful way of describing what life is 🥰.
Life is a collection of memory fragments. Life can only be lived in the now. Each now has the potential to create a new fragment.
@bellepotter333 - this is part of a whole "poem" :
It is what happened long ago.
It is what has been forgotten.
It is a bead in a story belt.
It is a medicine story.
Unfortunately I do not know the rest by heart, but on his album "Music for the American Native People", Robbie Robertson made a song from parts of this poem, the voice of a Native American Opera singer, cicadas at night and some other things. Worth listening to. The whole album is great. My favorite is Words of Fire Deeds of Blood, and Cherokee Morning Song. it may sound a bit weird, I just realize, but that's more my description...
Loved Them Because the Spoken Words Are SO TRUE!! AMEN ✝️❤️
“Remember that your children are not your own but lent to you by the Creator.” Words that ring true every day in my life. Thank you LORD
He got this one from Psalms 127:3

"Your children are not your own, they are lent to you by the creator" wow I am at a loss for words, such deep wisdom.
Its from the Kahlil Gibran "The Prophet"
Same.
I said this last night to a friend... And today I see it here..
I was fortunate to have my one and only lent to me. I am so grateful for him.

ALL QUOTES HAD MEANING AND DEEP WISDOM, LOVED THEM ALL!
WHY ARE WE SHOUTING!!!!
"Remember that your children are not your own, but are lent to you by Creator."
When i lost a child I had to learn this harsh reality and also the reality that nothing is ours and is all Creator's. Lent by Creator is a good way of understanding.
"Wisdom only comes when you stop looking for it and start living the life the creator intended for you" - Very true, Experienced myself.
"Remember that your children are not your own, But lent to you by the creator" - My mum could do with hearing this.
How do you know what life was intended for you?
There is no death, only charge of words . love it
These proverbs contain such wisdom.
He leaves his father's graves and his children's birthright forgotten."
There is no quiet place in the white man's cities. No place to hear the leaves of spring or the rustle of insect wings. But perhaps because I am savage and do not understand - the clatter only seems to insult my ears. And what is there to life if a man cannot hear the lovely cry of the whippoorwill or the arguments of the frogs around the pond at night."
"The whites, too, shall pass-perhaps sooner than other tribes.
I have read this before along time ago thank you for sharing on another note my mother was just out side walla walla the first white child born on the res
beautiful, it made me cry!
His presence is ever powerful- from a Seattle resident of 60 years
You should print that and send it to the tribes. That way they can clean up the god forsaken messes that are the current standard of native life. I say that as one that has been to Native territories this year in Utah, Arizona, Nevada, Idaho, and Washington. If the Native's ever really were what we've been taught, they surely are NOT that today. And I refuse to pretend it's so.
@Rosita #end1492 You are correct. God bless you, Rosita.
