- Tornado at Bakken is a rare Intamin spinning coaster. This ride is famous for boost mode, where the operators speed up the lift, disable the trims, and spin the vehicle. Find out why this mode is critical if you want to maximize your thrills.

Tornado on boost mode is a bucket list coaster for me. I hope Intamin makes more of these in the future.
I think there's another coming to China.
There is coming a clone to China but the drop is very different
I rode this back in 2011. My Swedish friend warned me how intense this roller coaster is. I had a hard time believing him because of the stats of the roller coaster.
Boy was I wrong! The first drop after that launch lift hill I thought my neck was going to snap. The spinning felt like a blur. Once I hit the brake run I was like, "what the @* just happened?!". My friend looked at me like he was saying, "I told you so".
I should have known better seeing that this is an Intamin roller coaster.
I thought it was overrated until I got boost mode.
Spinning coasters are always difficult to judge as the spinning is based on weight dirtibution. Even non boost mode can be crazy on this one!!!
Boost mode Tornado is probably the coolest coaster to see a POV of. It just looks so out of control and fast. I'm sure it's even wilder on ride too.
It's wild.
I can’t believe Intamin says this is a Family thrill/thrill coaster it 100% needs to be in the extreme category no questions asked
That start is nuts.
Well, this company calls Juvelen a family coaster too :')
@@Silvarret true. Juvelen is one of the best coasters I’ve tried and from my point of view it’s an perfect family thrill coaster.
Boost mode = insanity.
Yes
I’m just waiting until we find out that Intamin is just a Meth lab where they produce coasters as a cover up.
Lol
According to what you said the launch brings the "trains" to a faster speed of 25 MPH than Maverick's 1st "launch" of 22 MPH on a lift hill three times the size. This is like that coaster NE of Salzburg: insane forces for its size. Europe has some incredibly powerful little coasters!
This is a shocking little ride.
This ride just sums up intamin as a whole
They can't make a straight up family coaster.
Honestly I could see a ride like Tornado fitting well at Indiana Beach. If they had buildings that aren’t being used or significant, then this maybe a good use for that space even if it is a straight clone of Tornado.
It would, but the new owners seem to like relocations.
Yeah and I’m fine with it as long as they keep relocating badass rides and saving them from extinction.
Dream would be for them to have gotten “Bullet”. That Anton is on my list of missed attractions
I rode it 2 months ago. 7 times in normal mode and 3 times on Boost. First coaster in my life where i had to lay on the ground for a few seconds right after i rode.
One of the most intense experiences i have ever made and it was AMAZING!
Boost is life changing.
That boost mode makes this absolutely the craziest spinning coaster, even more than the Mack Extreme Spinners in teems of intensity. The amount you are getting spun and whipped around, fast turns and positive Gs, this seriously looks like a carnival rode, just intense and pure nauseating and when you look at how much it whips around, it needs those intamin OTSR.
It's insane.
I am stoked to try this out this summer. Boost mode looks absolutely perfect
Hopefully they start doing it again. I heard they paused that mode shortly after my visit due to the accident at Tivoli Friheden.
I know it's short, I know there are spinning coasters galore, but this is on my bucket list.
It's very unique.
This coaster looks AMAZING! I've always thought this ride looks bonkers, would love to see rides like these show up in the US...one can dream..
Maybe!
I am probably going to Bakken in a few weeks and this is the ride I am looking forward to the most
Enjoy!
I love the idea of spinning coasters!
Me too.
Very neat looking ride. I'd try the crazy mode. 🤪
It was worth it.
Spin spin spin the car! Spin till everyone’s sick!
Yes
It's really hard to beat this one, genius engineering! I rode it in boost when I was 11yo with some locals, not comparable to any other coaster
It's crazy.
Since i live in denmark i have been to bakken a few times and i didnt even know it had a boost mode, im gonna have to try that next time!!
It's insane.
I’m going on a denmark trip in 2 weeks if everything goes well with flights. really intrigued by the boost mode on this. hope we will get the chance to experience it!
Follow the steps I mentioned and it's possible!
@@CanobieCoaster I will try my best, hopefully the coaster will be a walk on!
If I was one of the operators I would just leave boost mode on regardless and if some Karen compalined I'd give her an extra spin before departure
Wow!
Intiman is like that strange kid in class who doesn’t always play by the rules and follows its own ways, eschewing tradition
They are not afraid to do things differently.
This looks absolutely crazy I could definitely see some not liking this I would love to see something like this here in America
I would too.
Boost mode sounds amazing
It's insane.
I would definitely need a defibrillator after that Boost Mode!! Holy moly 😳 😍!!!
It's nuts.
@@CanobieCoaster I honestly don't know, but this COULD be the ride to make me puke... it would be a first for me!! Maybe a mask w/barf tube and side bag? (I don't want to hit anyone accidentally). Lol!!! Thanks again for sharing this video!
It is an insane ride
Yes
would be so cool if they built one of these on the scale of a mack extreme spinner with the an actually powerful launch
That would be interesting.
I didn't know boost mode existed. I thought the regular ride was insane enough.
Boost is another level.
I went to Bakken on this month. When i looked at the tornado, i looked like no orditional spinning coaster.
It's such a weird ride.
So what’s your favorite park and roller coaster?
Disneyland and Lightning Rod.
What means "like a top"?
Spinning like the toy known as a top.
i agree with you, 4 seconds is a lot of time
Yes for this type of ride.
The i305 of spinners.
Yes
i was at bakken yesterday. WHY THE HELL DID I NOT DO ANY RESEARCH?!?! I DIDNT GET A SINGLE RIDE ON BOOST MODE
Oh no!
This is the final boss of spinning coasters.
Pretty much!
@@CanobieCoaster for real though I’m surprised no one threw up from this ride.
What Laff trak should of been -->
I wish.
I'll take neither mode thanks. I've lost the ability to enjoy spinning flat rides. Even if that spinning flat ride is mounted to a coaster track.
I love how dizzying this is and I hope I never lose the ability to enjoy rides like this.
Who comes up with these coasters?
Intamin
The Crazy Intamin people
Boost mode Tornado made me actually fear for my life…
Same!
why is eejanaika scarier than this
Size and flips.
I wish every coaster had over the shoulder restraints
I don't, but I'll admit some need them.
@@CanobieCoaster
Well Im a chicken so I want to stapled strapped and welded to that seat!
Over the shoulder restraints should be prohibited on vintage Schwarzkopf loopers. Even in California.
eejanaika lrevel of insanity
Eejanaika is far scarier.
Holy Sh#t I wanna do this
It's super dizzying.
I want to ride a RMC on boost mode. Lol
Wow!
Boost mode would probably make me throw up
I loved the insane spinning.
It's a classic Intamin: Crazy ride experience and crazy unreliable! (and I'm not talking about regular/boost mode difference).
But we're lucky to have this beast in Denmark though.
I didn't see it down in my 2 visits. Is it frequent but quick breakdowns or extended ones?
@@CanobieCoaster I don't come to Bakken monthly or anything but the times I've been there, it always seems to be down for a short period of time, at least once.
I've seen people being 'evacuated' off of it, a couple of times in the last few years so I don't know if that's a lot or not, but it definitely does seem to be somewhat unreliable. Still a fantastic ride though!
@@CanobieCoaster it has valleyed a few times and idk why but it always seems to get stuck on the left turn right over the station I think last time it happened was in 2019 correct me if I’m wrong
Tornado looks too intense for me. Makemesick.
I love spinning.
Vomiting, or explosively vomiting. That's what this ride would do to me (lol).
Oh no!
Not for me
I loved the spinning.
