I have a photo I took of Munden Lane where the car drives up to the ‘Home’ sign which I took 12 years ago when the call sheets first became public. Looked exactly as in the film with the fence and grass verge. They’ve changed it now. Also have photos I took as gained access to the exterior of Mr Alexander’s house in Oxfordshire if you’re interested.
Hate to break it to you Jeremy, but I mistakenly thought the petrol station was the location for the old McKinney factory based on a really badly hand-drawn map of the parking lot in the call sheets that I photographed at The Kubrick Archive. I did a re-write of all the locations and uploaded it to Wikipedia (now deleted by admins) Sadly that error has propagated like crazy and appeared all over the Internet. Anyways, the correct location It turns out is where the building for 'Evolve Dance Academy', 'Jump In Trampoline Parks: Elstree' and 'Mega Jump' just a 100 yards south east of the Shell station. Great work BTW.
Brilliant video, guys! Here in London just now and hoping to visit a few of the locations so this has been really handy. Can't believe they let you film in their house... Very cool!
Fantastic video guys, really was a great watch, living in London I will get out to some do these locations, thank you for the time and effort you guys have put in, an excellent hour 👍
I went to Binsey Walk which is where they filmed the scene where Alex attacks his droogs by the river and unfortunately it’s all blocked off and they are demolishing the buildings next to the river.
I went there too recently, I had a feeling some of it would have been demolished but you can't even access the walk now, however it does seem to still be intact with the steps and the walls. I just hope they don't demolish that too since everything behind has gone now.
Some town councils throughout Great Britain forbade local cinemas from showing the film . The film itself was shown in other cinemas for the best part of a year and a half ( I saw it on 3 occasions during that time ) before Kubrick decided to withdraw it from British cinemas only because of copycat violence .
Agreed, except the actor voicing Darth Vader was James Earl Jones, not the Samuel Jones mistakenly cited. But definitely a great labor of love here, much appreciated by us fans of the film!
Only four sets were constructed for the film: the Korova Milk Bar, the hallway in the assaulted writer's home, the bathroom in the same home, and the prison check-in room. The rest of the film was shot on location.
Record store was the Chelsea drug store ( same one mentioned in Rolling Stones you can’t always get what you want) Record store and DJ was downstairs the bar was upstairs.
Glad you enjoyed it. The only place we couldn't get to was the stage when he is shown to the audience. It's a library that's closed for refurbishment. The bastards wanted 500 to let us in. It was a really surreal experience going to the locations.
9:35 not a bad impression of the tramp haha. Give this man an oscar! loved this video and I can see that you lot are passionate for the movie and had fun hunting for it's interesting filming locations. good job!
Hi, I read on the famous IMDB site that the scene where “Alex humiliated in press conference” was shot at Nettleford Hall, West Norwood Library, West Norwood. I was there the day before yesterday and in fact at the entrance to the cinema there is a plaque in honor of the film which reveals that the location is that
Super nice vdeo. Great job. You guys just have to agree on who's talking when. 2 hosts will only work if they don't talk on top of eachother. Yet, i love the video. Thanks!
from wikipedia; The "Duke Of New York" pub is the since-demolished "The Bottle and Dragon" pub (formerly "The Old Leather Bottle") in Stonegrove, Edgware, London.
I took a pilgrimage to McDonald’s Chelsea to visit this location, I kinda remember seeing an old photo (during filming ?) that the steps at the entrance go down to the lower level, which is the basement eating area of the McDonald’s, so I assume that is where the scene is filmed ? While I was in the area (Chelsea) walking about, I accidentally (to my surprise) stumbled across the tramp bridge, definitely worth a visit if you are about.
Really enjoyed this video guys, thanks! However I was sad to see there was no hospital location at the end... I was always led to believe it was filmed at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, which is where I’m from... so I was looking forward to potentially seeing a more local location! :)
NotSoAverageJoe Damn! I hope one day you’ll get to film that last location. I don’t think the ward is quite the same anymore but you could definitely film outside the building! I wish there was more info on that part of the film!
You must be referring to the derelict casino, the site of the battle between Alex's gang and Billyboy's. I read online that that was an old abandoned resort hotel, called the Karsino, on Tagg's Island in the Thames, which was demolished in 1972, a year after filming on 'A Clockwork Orange' wrapped.
This is such an awesome video. I've always wondered the name of the wooden style pub they visited after the notorious fight by the pond. I couldn't quite catch the name of the pub itself due to the cars passing. Can you tell me what the name is again?
He actually said "Samuel Jones", which immediately brought to my mind Samuel L. Jackson. I assume he was thinking of the actual voice actor, James Earl Jones.
Have to be honest, the location of the scene where the police land rover drives down the lane is not School Lane in Bricket Wood. There are no houses around in the film and looks like the back of beyond.I believe that you have correct location for the walking and trough scene but the Land Rover scene somewhere else.
I'm 54, live in Texas, love A Clockwork Orange and can't watch it enough. I'd love to have my own public version of the Corova Milk Bar with euphoric substances blended in with the milk to help get customers ready for a bit of the old ultraviolence. What flavors of milk were available for Alex and his droogs ? Imagine if A Clockwork Orange was shown at midnight at public theaters and fans acted out movie scenes like in Rocky Horror Picture Show. Quite choice idea indeed. What ingedients were in the milk Alex and the droogs were drinking, any special ingredients ?
In the novel, we learn the names of four drugs used to spike the milk: 'synthemesc', 'drencrom', 'vellocet', and 'knives'. In the film, the first three names are reproduced in the decorative lettering on the Korova Milk Bar's walls. 'Synthemesc' is evidently synthetic mescaline, while Alex in the novel describes 'knives' as a stimulant consumed to fortify one for violent pastimes.
That was an abandoned resort hotel called the Karsino, on Tagg's Island in the Thames, which was demolished in 1972, a year after filming on 'A Clockwork Orange' wrapped.
It was known as the "Chelsea drug store " a sixties nightclub frequented by rock and film stars of that era. Its also gets a mention in the rolling stones song "you can't always get what you want " from the (great) album, "let it bleed". 1969.
This is true in the novel. In the film, the two droogs turned policemen are Dim and Georgie. In the novel, Georgie actually dies while Alex is still in prison.
No way would I allow anyone into my house if I owned 'Home'. That would be a passport to suburban obsessives and city crazies to turn up in order to re-enact various scenes for real. Oh no, the phallus room is a kindergarten! Better get double security. People are just too trusting.
I don't think you got the "Head-Dunking" scene correct - I was watching that clip and the start doesn't look the same (or show ANY resemblance), you walk a different path route and, before the dunking, they enter around a right-turn and behind the trough, there is a dip in the ground - the area where the cameraman thought it was (he EVEN said he THINKS he knows) wasn't the right area... I know, it's been 45 years since they filmed in that abandoned area but it wouldn't change that much/fast... you probably came across that path with the green pillars (your filming) and probably make a mistake - last thing, in the movie, to the right of the 'Land Rover', there's loads of areas containing grass and MANY trees (No man-made structures whatsoever), where you were, there were buildings and a car park; like I said before, even though it's been 45 years since the original filming, features about the location wouldn't change that much/fast... I'm sorry that you've gone through a LOT of effort but I'm NOT entirely convinced that that is the ACTUAL (100%-confirmed) location of the "Head-Dunking".
It was a quick cut scene. If you watch the film the police car then the lane are two different locations. This was from notes from Paula Murray Kubricks friend. They cut when they walk up the lane it's stated its in Bricketwood where we filmed
He says "Samuel Jones", which did immediately call Samuel L. Jackson to mind, but I think he was thinking of the actual actor who gave Darth Vader voice, James Earl Jones.
Maybe before you did the intro, you two should’ve sat down and worked out what you was going to say rather than contradict each other? Just an idea from a Clockwork fan🤡
Excellent work M8...Great to see these locations...If you are on Facebook take a look at our page MGM Borehamwood memories.....I have given your video a share there....Viddy Well!
Can't believe he let you film in the house 14:15 really cool.
Plus this should have way more views, really well put together.
Cheers brother we had great fun
Did you tell them you've had a really bad accident and you needed to use the phone?
I have a photo I took of Munden Lane where the car drives up to the ‘Home’ sign which I took 12 years ago when the call sheets first became public. Paul Sexton You should do a video and show the 'Home' location. I'd love to see that.
How the hell does this video hardly have any views?
A combination of being a pretty niche subject, and youtube algorythms. Which videos are YOU missing??
Thank you, seeing inside the writer’s and cat lady homes current day was a real thrill.
Hate to break it to you Jeremy, but I mistakenly thought the petrol station was the location for the old McKinney factory based on a really badly hand-drawn map of the parking lot in the call sheets that I photographed at The Kubrick Archive. Same here, barely recognisable unfortunately. The font of the 'Riverside Cafe' logo is a big nod to the film though.
Fantastic work boys the best location film ive ever seen
Great stuff once again guys.Very interesting.
Yikes! The inside of the writers house and the cat lady's house looked a hell of a lot better in the movie.
jeremy looks like some science experiment gone bad.
Samuel L. Jones does the voice of Darth Vader. That's too funny.
Imagine Samuel L. Jackson doing the voice of Darth Vader. That would be fucking awesome
It has happened ua-cam.com/video/q_n8FRILoYE/v-deo.html
Yeah I caught that too lol.
@@williamsherman1089 I don't understand what they both say, are these guys australians?
cool! Love this showing the actual locations!
The whole thing you guys did it just totally awesome droogs!!!!
should have shown the corresponding scenes from the movie
Dale Eloph Yeah, before and after so we droogs can see the changes.
canterbury house was also the tower block you could see in the background where the car lot is in older episodes of eastenders before they moved sets
A complete guide. And areas never been filmed before.

The film itself was shown in other cinemas for the best part of a year and a half ( I saw it on 3 occasions during that time ) before Kubrick decided to withdraw it from British cinemas only because of copycat violence .
Clockwork & Star Wars knowledge is outstanding in this video!
Agreed, except the actor voicing Darth Vader was James Earl Jones, not the Samuel Jones mistakenly cited. But definitely a great labor of love here, much appreciated by us fans of the film!
Man, I assumed the house of the imfamous "Singing In The Rain" sequence was a studio set
Only four sets were constructed for the film: the Korova Milk Bar, the hallway in the assaulted writer's home, the bathroom in the same home, and the prison check-in room. The rest of the film was shot on location.
Record store was the Chelsea drug store ( same one mentioned in Rolling Stones you can’t always get what you want) Record store and DJ was downstairs the bar was upstairs.
why didnt you show photos from the film of the places you are visiting?
Just never did. But I can assure you the are the exact locations. If you know the film you can tell
John collard i believe u, justt couldnt remember so side by side photos woulda been good. still very enjoyable to watch though.
Glad you enjoyed it. The only place we couldn't get to was the stage when he is shown to the audience. It's a library that's closed for refurbishment. The bastards wanted 500 to let us in. It was a really surreal experience going to the locations.
John collard 500 = liberty. are u working on any other locations ?
We have done American Werewolf and also music locations. The Hellraiser house a little bit of a Minder also. Check the links
the man giving the eye drops was in fact , a real doctor!
Can't say it's a favorite film. But what are awesome video you guys have done. Really enjoyed watching 👍
I really enjoyed this, you did a great job👍🏻
I want to thank Jerry Seinfeld for hosting the show

Very good , from Argentina
Still really interested in finding the location of the police Land Rover scene. Can anyone help?
Very informative! Thanks lads.
Small correction - the bridge at 47 mins isn't (what would've been appropriately named) BATTERSea Bridge, but rather Albert Bridge (next one along),
welly welly welly welly welly welly well!
: )
Great video, needs more views
Brilliant!do you have a link to the Kubrik website that talks about the props stored in the tunnel
Fascinating! Great job!!
This is so bloody good. I wish you guys would do more videos. Love to do a collaboration with you someday
Do you guys know where the scene in the wooden bar when droogies fake the peace with Alex before the attack at the cat lady has been shot??
I heard that one was demolished.

@@standolfo I agree, I would love to have visited it, as it looked in the film.
great visual tidbits for all known Clockwork-heads.

Great must have taken a lot of work and research to get this together, and great document, as so many buildings getting demolished.

Top work.going to check some of these out.

That was an abandoned resort hotel called the Karsino, on Tagg's Island in the Thames, which was demolished in 1972, a year after filming on 'A Clockwork Orange' wrapped.
Shame about Chelsea drug store/record shop. Favorite hangout of rock & roll giants of the day.
At least the building itself still stands, though the interior is now refurbished beyond recognition.
Listening to these blokes talk is almost as entertaining as Malcolm McDowell's narration in the movie. Stands to reason I suppose.
Sweet Molly Malone was the name of the song, that the tramp was singing. ✌🤟👍
Great job lads
Did you ever ask permission to get into flat 100?
My parents went to see it.Mum said the film was awful.I asked what the film was.She said A Chocolate Orange.🤣🤣🤣
A quick correction for you. The record store location wasn't in the area you were filming. It was in the basement of the building.
but you can see the passing reflection of a car at street level in the long shot as Alex 'tours' the record shop!!
It was known as the "Chelsea drug store " a sixties nightclub frequented by rock and film stars of that era. Its also gets a mention in the rolling stones song "you can't always get what you want " from the (great) album, "let it bleed". 1969.
