WOW, what an amazing journey! It's really exciting to see locations from one of my favorite films in modern times. Special thanks for the narration style in the video.
Appreciate your awesome comment!
At school I used to be so fascinated about this film, I read the book first then a good friend took me to see it in the cinema before I was 18.
The narrator here got the names mixed up at the waterside fight with Alexs's droogs.
Thank you for making and uploading this video. I've always wanted to visit a couple of the film's iconic locations: Thamesmead and Wandsworth. I was worried that the Thamesmead path was gone forever because of redevelopment and that I'd end up choosing the wrong subway for a selfie. Your video gave me the directions I needed to get those Clockwork selfies. I even managed to arrive in time for a delicious all day breakfast at the Lakeside Café before they closed.
This was gorgeousness and gorgeosity made flesh.
Welly, welly, welly, welly well. Thank you!
Haha, thanks!
Stanley Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket was entirely filmed in England which I still find hard to believe
Yeah, I remember I had to write an essay about Kubrick back in the film studies day and that was one of the facts that blew my mind when doing my research!
He used docklands didn't he? It still hadn't been built on then. So many films used it as a location
Really enjoyable video, thanks for putting in the effort on a single day!! I’ll have to watch a clockwork orange again now 😊👍🏻
Chris Cunningham filmed the video for Come To Daddy on that same housing estate.
Never heard of it, but I'll check it out!
@@Nostalgia_tripsNever heard of Aphex Twin, the English Ambient pioneer who began making music in the 90s? First of all, he's great, but back to Cunningham. He made a number of destinctive music videos in the late 90s and early 00s. One was a video for Bjork's All is Full Of Love and the word at the time was Kubrick saw this video (basically, it's two female robots engaged in a tender kiss for 3 minutes. It's quiet astonishing looking) and asked Cunningham to contribute to AI. He oversaw anamatronics testing on the film. That said, I don't know if he contributed to Speilberg's. He's not listed in the credits, but he did work on the movie when Kubrick was overseeing his project. A very talented visual artist.
Amazing, congratulations, thank you
That was a truly great vid’ …you filthy old soomka! 😂
Sorry for the late reply, sorry to say I'm a newcomer to your channel! Such a great video of an iconic location, as featured in such a legendary film! I must visit these locations one day. They look quite easy to get to? Also, love the narration style and terminology from the book/film, a nice touch!
No problem and welcome to the channel. Yes, you should definitely visit there one day. It's great to explore these real life film sets.
You did such a great job. Don't throw your coat away. It's very cool. I'm so jealous I would love to be at all those spots and what pains me most is I was in London twice in the late 80's & early 90's but I was too busy going to Manchester to party at the Hacienda and to the city where my beloved New Order and The Smiths came from. Thanks again. Great work
1:37 if that clockwork orange themed cafe allows, please do film a bit of the film's screening and, if it's raining, do a little bit of singing 🧑🎤☔
Great effort Lewis, I thank you with the _real horrorshow_ with pleasure 🧐😂
I might not be able to make it but if I do go I'll definitely get some footage!
@@Nostalgia_trips Thank you but don't sweat it if it's complicated. I just thought it'd be cool for the cafe and something inline with the channel content (unique 🎥 events). Cheers 😎
This was awesome. I can’t wait to visit this location when I go next month
Great locations, such a cool film.
The film could not be made today as its incorrect to do so, thanks for this very interesting guided tour for subservient druges.
Thanks for watching!
Yes it could. There are films a lot worse. It could easily be remade.
Bravo well done even using the Burgess vocabulary....
Thank you mate! I'm glad somebody noticed that.
c'mon mate, it's Georgie who gets bashed in the yarbles first... takes a horrorshow kick to the guttywhats, then Dim takes a swing with the chain... Pete just fucks off... and Alex proceeds to give Dim a nice little cut with his britva...
Great, thanks.
Thanks for watching mate. Good to have you here!
Looks like the Soviet era buildings
I think that's the style Kubrick was going for
Great presentation, Lewis. Calling it: soon he will be BBC 😝
1971
I seen A clockwork orange
Yeah?
Thanks
Thanks for watching!
All subways are meant to stink of piss.
Tutto rimane deprimente oggi come all'ora....... l'inghilterra e' proprio un posto di merda !!!
It's still better than Italy!
@@Nostalgia_trips lol :D
1971. not 1972
Oops

As we walked along the flatblock marina, I was calm on the outside, but thinking all the time - Now it was to be Georgie the general, saying what we should do and what not to do, and Dim as his mindless greeding bulldog. But suddenly, I viddied that thinking was for the gloopy ones, and that the oomny ones use like, inspiration and what Bog sends. Now it was lovely music that came into my aid. There was a window open with the stereo on, and I viddied right at once what to do.
