- Had a great day at Oulton last week testing the car. Unfortunately I only had 1 working GoPro for the day again, will look to get this sorted for the future but cameras are not being friendly this year.
Had a bit of fun editing this as you might be able to tell! It's been a while since I've edited on a computer. Roll on the copyright claims! Not too bothered with adsense but might pull it if it restricts the playback in certain countries (that happens, a lot of my videos are banned in Denmark!)
More naughty ideas:
1) Thinner head gasket
2) Low drag alternator
3) High flow race cat
4) High energy spark plugs (good for 1-2hp!)
5) WPC/Cryo treat the transmission parts (very cheap and very effective)
6) Change axle grease to redline grease
7) Overbore pistons? (Maybe a bit naughty)
8) Retexture intake ports
9) Thermal gasket for intake manifold (phenolic spacer)
10) Heat reflective wrap
11) Exhaust wrap
12) Ceramic wheel bearings (expensive but worth it)
13) Oval out your front shock bolt holes for extra camber
14) Change pulley ratio so ancillaries are driven slower
15) Lightweight flywheel (a bit naughty)
16) Seal up body edges with tape
17) Rad fan air diverter panel
18) Lightweight battery
19) Titanium lug nuts (hey it's unsprung weight)
20) Take a dump before the race lol
21) Continuum Transfunctioner
22) Short Films about Springfield
23) Put a donk on it
24) remove valve caps for unsprung (tick)

Seriously though, cumulatively those will make quite a difference.
you can also rebuild the engine with max factory rebore which is 0.5mm over which gives you an extra 22cc

Yeah, reduce body weight to barely alive, like 40 kilos. Thats the bigest advantage

Yeah pretty good, I had XP10 front XP8 rear on K20 one (fronts a bit more bitey). They're nice pads. Just got some Pagid RSL29 to try in the E46
@@dannyDC2 I love my XP10's. I didn't think they would be adequate for me but wow, they do just fine.
How do they compare to ebc yellow stuff?

Now I'm not a racer, but that looked good. Good line using all the track, late on the breaks and early on the throttle keeping it smooth. Maybe go a little easier on the chicane exits, you looked to be bouncing off the kerbs a bit and sliding out. Looking forward to seeing the next race. Hopefully you will sneak a snuke up their snizz. Also, I appreciate the editing, especially the intro.

Looked like a decent run out there, 2:08 with the traffic and conditions is going well round oulton in a 1zz. These cars brake so well into the corners, just lack the poke out!

Seemed to be going really well for 140bhp 👍 I was there in the fake CSL with a couple of mates in the Skyline and GT4 (his 1st time driving it). Mint day with it starting wet and drying up 👌

I always thought those mr2’s being mid engined were supposed to be tricky little bastards in the wet! You boss’d it mate! The slides looked lovely and controllable. I really do need to do a trackday one day. 🤔
The later ZZW30 wasn't as much of a handful as the previous ones I think, can't say from experience but I've heard it on forums etc
Still got the weight behind you, so you have to countersteer quickly to catch it or else the weight will swing round and you'll spin, but aside from that they handle well :)
The roadster is slightly more easy to control and balance in a slide - i do talk from experience lol
I think it's mostly because of weight of the sw20. Physics don't lie. Have to respect the fact that your rear is heavier than your front. I think that catches people out. S2k is known as widow maker too, but is one of the best handling/balanced cars ever made. I wouldn't listen to people
@@dannyDC2 the S2000 has a very stiff rear ARB as standard, almost twice as stiff as the front. That's part of what makes it's oversteer very sudden, and gives it it's reputation. So similar issue to the Mr2 just for a different reason.
I'm not letting that put me off though, I know I can drive. Getting one in March :)
@@dannyDC2 The SW20 has a bad rep but it's undeserved. I'm no driving god but I could slide my turbos around pretty easily - but the turbos were usually fit with the e153/LSD. I think a lot of people are disappointed with their UK NA cars because the S54 box didn't have an LSD. But yeah the extra weight does make it generally more of a handful.

You have had good rain training, take advantage of it in a rain race.
now is a quick mr2, no longer lil asthmatic mr2, seems quick even on the uphill sections ( i watched the part in the dry). i reckon if you take it to the dragstrip u shud be able to get sub 15sec with a quarter tank fuel and drop the clutch at 6k revs. would be good just to test if it can get the same time as a e.g stock 200bhp ep3 type r

His heavier mr2 sw20 got 14.97 on his other video once he stripped it out. With 155hp stock power
Even if you have a less restrictive exhaust you need to shift earlier, 6400rpm is the ideal point

It's definitely shorter. Going by calculations (now I know the rev limit is 7000 and not 7200) 4th will now top out at 109mph. Previously 128mph. Big difference - thumbsnap.com/s/zBC7uUmL.png
Bit of a novice question but why do you left foot brake? Is it to keep the car settled around a fast corner i'm about to start tracking my car amd want to learn stuff like that but i'd rather know why you do it first 😂
If not changing gear then more controllable and can put power down faster
