@roadkingrider6532, they're out there. Probably the most attainable and sustainable are the 45 cu.in. series. Harley produced the 45 flathead engine from the 30s into the 70s.
Thanks @taylorgilkespie4582, you as well. I think the same is true for me. Took the couch for a spin yesterday, sunny and 5 C (41 F), road dry, traffic light - loved it.
@choppadee113, good catch! Yup, the shifter shaft has a lot of slop where it mates to the transmission nut. And yes, soon I will pull apart the clutch to do the needful.
@@m.f.m.67 Ahhh, you're right, but they do bare a resemblance. Compare the pictures. The biggest giveaway is the VL uses a springer front fork, whereas the Sport Scout uses a girder type.
@charlesrainey6830, definitely not the coldest ride I've been on. I'm not a fan of windscreens but when the temperature drops below 40 F they do can make a difference.
Love your title. Looking forward to a great watch😊
Thanks! Hope you enjoy it.
Man I hope to have a flathead someday!! Love it!

@ thanks for the information!
And add ME to the RIDE also! So nice....love the old BIKES to Death!
@@RogerDiotte Yup, couldn't agree with you more! A blast to ride!
Nice old 45
@PanheadJeff58, a slight correction, it’s a 74 inch flathead.
I Ride more in cool and cold weather year round. Happy Harley Days. Ride Easy. 😊

Seems like the clutch needs to be adjusted or needs new clutch plates ??

Right on. I have a 1951 Panhead. Lots of fun !!!
Yeah,or the gearbox needs a thicker öl, I gess.
....maybe not.
Great classic, what is the make, model and year?
@@SteffiReitsch Not even close. Harley VL Flathead.

@SteffiReitsch, yes there are a number of differences, but the most obvious would be the front fork assembly.
@@vlchronicles What did I just say? LOL.
Been there done that.
