- DISCLAIMER: Yes, this level is a hack. I don't beat it using hacks, but it's clearly not part of the original game. Apparently people need to see this written out.
Man, this star even makes the original master quest star seem easy. So... the first three sections proceed as normal.. after which, I have to maintain three clouds. This required getting a brand new strategy, and made the hammer bro section nigh impossible. So many times.. I would think I had it, only to die as I approached the final launch star. Today, I sat down yet again, and achieved this on my third try, the exact same as master quest star 1!! I must have something lucky with threes. Anyways, please enjoy this video.

Yes, I know, I know it's hacked. I state that it's a custom level in the description in the video taht comes before this one. It's clearly a hack, but the point is that it's a hacked in level that's 100 times harder than any other one, and I managed to beat it. I didn't beat it USING hacks, so what's the problem?
This level looks pretty easy to me... I mean they didn't even make you collect 100 purple coins!

that is good to know. I've actually wondered what people think of when I put insane in the title. I meant it as if I was insane to even attempt the level, but people seem to be taking it to mean that my skill at the game is insane. This was very little skill, mostly hours of attempts. Either way, insanity :D
You can also do this with only one cloud or by keeping Yoshi.
Vilvalas Keeping Yoshi would be impossible, I'm pretty sure the creator of this hacked level made it so you had to abandon Yoshi
No It's possible with the Infinite Flutter Glitch and a lot of dedication
Getting to and defeating Bowser is hard enough with that exploit/technique (Not a glitch, really, just a glitch-level helping trick), getting the Master Quest hidden Star, as well as the Windy Cloud Trial (Section 3/6) to begin with would take the whole decade the original Galaxy came out in!
And this is coming from a guy who's been trying and failing to complete The Perfect Run for 4 DAMN YEARS!! *STUPID HAMMER BROS.!!!*

love this video. i love how in the level it had all the music tracks i absolutely love from the 2 games. i know i would’ve had a blast playing this while getting to listen to that music.
So, is this Luigi Exclusive? The dialogue at the end seems to imply that.
Cookie V.3 It was only coincidence that he was playing Luigi, so the dialogue Rosalina said was directed towards him. Should have it been Mario who complete the level, then Rosalina would address him.

Have you played this level or are you just making assumptions? I know that in normal SMG2 that the dialogue changes depending on which character is playing, but this is custom dialogue and I haven't seen anybody else use dialogue that changes depending on which character is playing. It's less the dialogue and more that I'm concerned that some of the jumps can only be made as Luigi seeing as how he jumps farther than Mario.
I know that this is an old comment but you can play as Mario on this stage. There are videos of people beating this stage with Mario

I thought this was a star in the game when I played it back in 2010 and was confused to not see it (Yes I was 7, I didn’t know better)
The music was an accurate representation of how you feel when playing this.

as I've said to other people, you can do it with less, but the risk in screwing up is a lot higher. it's much safer if you save all 3, as it's nearly impossible to screw up from that point. it'd be really irritating to get to the island only to fall off due to missing the star because I was down a cloud.

The fact that that house at the end was the height of one cloud jump, and the star was three cloud jumps high.
You could have finished this with two clouds left and still gotten the star by first jumping on the house.
Maybe even one if you backflipped into the star from the cloud.
You made this harder than you needed it to be...
In hindsight, yeah, at the time I felt like a nerd with no life(not that this has really changed) due to how many tries it took.

if you follow my wiimote pointer, I was waiting on the jumps I thought they would make before leaping out, because if you time it right they land where you want to land, which means you just die :(

This is the single most evil level I've ever seen and the single most expert Mario galaxy player I have ever seen
I beat the regular "perfect run" , but it took me probably more than 60 tries ( i know , but hey - some people can't get it at all..so w/e )
This would probably take me more then 100 tries , if i could do it at all, lol. It looks insane for sure.
for me, it took like 60 tries too, but all ive had to do is remember the right moves and decorate the level, it took me 4 hours to do it so...(i'm actually a expert player)

I thought the game was hacked when I saw the star covering the other star. Then I dropped this speculation when I watched the tight super mario galaxy 2 only gameplay. Then I was baffled when Luigi ignores the glass star he worked so hard to achieve, to find a shiny new one placed in the sky where no ordinary person should ever be. This game is hacked, but the stars are worth the effort, and while incredibly hard to achieve, it is an excuse to brag and cherish effort, to further exercise your limits and beyond. Good work.

you have to mod your wii and use a few different file replacing programs. it is a complex process that has a high chance of completely destroying your wii if done wrong, but you can google directions if you choose to try ;D
