@@EdgeHead80 You could get stuck on of the first puzzles if you rip out the bonding plant instead of digging it up. That would make you unable to finish the game. Very punising game design.
This game is straight from my past! It took me a long time to beat it because back then, there was no such thing as internet…and I was like 10 years old.
I remember trying to play this game on my crappy computer, it was so slow that all the voices had echoes. I thought that was how they were supposed to sound :P
I don't remember that intro with the house, mailbox and aerial. The CD-ROM version must have had more material than the (then) massive ~20MB box of floppy disk version we had :)
I just found my mum’s old copy of this game. I followed the instructions to the best if my ability and the game runs at like 1 frame a minute with no audio 😅
When I was like 11 yrs old I would play this game and take a picture of everybody then kill them. Good times being a little psycho in the game. I finally played it for real at 13 and beat it. I was a Zork-aholic back then in the early 90's.
I looked up the rye thing and one of thr comments regarded this game as simultaneously the best and worst game theyve ever played So now im here, not because i like pain or anything i just want to experience it
7:00 I wonder why this room has action music It seems to be a bug because in this version, there is more fitting music: ua-cam.com/video/EB-UEJjf7oA/v-deo.html
"Want some Rye? Course ya do!" has lived in my head since I was 13 😅
It forever lives in my head lol
Annnnnd they're allll dead
truly, for 30 years
😂 same!!
This game spooked me as a kid
Love it! Played it with friend as a kid, in Brazil. We have also always quoted the classic "Want some Rye? Course ya do!" lol!
Want some rye? Course ya do!
yessss!!!!
Here’s to us!
Who's like us?!!
Damn few…
And they're all dead!
This was an awesome game. One of my first point and click adventures, but pretty much impossible to finish.
One could do it with the cheat book
Also save your game everytime you finish a task
The final boss makes you play a game similar to chess
I don’t think I ever finished it. Though watching this, I feel like I missed stuff to do and that’s probably why.

Shit... there was no internet at all when I played it 🤣
@@youlikesmoothjazz2506 damn, you’re right!!
@@tattd_snw_wht youtube aint got nothin on the early internet lol
Nah, dial up internet certainly existed.
It was in it's infancy here.
I think the saying "Want some rye? Course ya do!" must have been repeated a thousand times after me and my friends played this game in high school...
I've been saying "I'm too drive to drunk" for nearly 30 years.
I used to play this game as a child. Good stuff
The vibe is so weird but I like it
This game rocks even by today's standards.
How did we ever finish these crazy adventure games back in the day without internet guides! I know I never managed to
We were required to actually think and had to keep at it.
Wow, I know it's been, like, 30 years since I've played this game, but I don't remember even *_half_* of this
I don’t remember all the music tracks. Did I play with the music off or something??

it is a crazy game. When I'm young I never finish it and it stuck in my mind until now.
Well done!
That theme song is some bone chilling shit and i love it!
FOOL! YOZOZO!

I had that version too. My cousin had the CD-ROM version and would make fun of me. I didn't care though. I enjoyed the game either way. 😁
In my experience, the cd version had a scratch or something on it so you could never get past the aerial part.
YES DO WE .....
i remember liking this back then.. but it hasn't aged well at all.
this game used to scare the hell out of me when i would watch my mum play
I just found my mum’s old copy of this game. I followed the instructions to the best if my ability and the game runs at like 1 frame a minute with no audio 😅
if you don't dig out that plant it's game over
Insanely bad game design
Image ratio fail should be 4:3. Everything is distorted like this.
Does anyone have a guide for the bogs?
16:56 When he pass out, the door did not open up in my game. Is something wrong with my game?
wow
Soundtrack had no business fuckin' so hard as it did. Classic from my childhood.

Playing this on my Wii through Dosbox 😅
1:15:23 Papers Please game music.
Return to... pilgrimage?

I noticed that, too. There's a lot of places where there is music where there shouldn't be.
Alguien de shiba??? Vaya juego de mierda, espero que se ponga las pilas el volk este
Callate!
pero sabes acaso lo qué ves o para qué entraste? que ridículo
God i hated this game. Utterly baffling without a cheat book. I had plenty of other actually enjoyable games to play, had no time for this garbage.
Did it make your brain hurt too much?
