Some of my earliest memories are sitting on my father's lap while he played Zork. I couldn't even read yet, he had to read it out loud for me. My favorite part was making a map. We played almost all of the sequels together. When I was in high school I made a Zork sequel for the TI-85 calculator and uploaded it to a BBS. I called it "Legend of Zork." My game had thousands of downloads and people seemed to like it! I have searched for it a lot online and can't find it anywhere. I do have it on a floppy disk somewhere...

Your copy can pretty much be last one, please backup and share it.
I had the exact same experience with my dad growing up, probably my first introduction into video games. Sitting on his lap while using the ancient Mac. That’s amazing that you made a version for the Ti-84 though, things have changed so much.
I loved the game, I could imagine the tunnels and all the structures in the maze. Played for hours!
Just started playing and I’m currently stuck in the maze :(
Zork is one if not my favorite game series :)
Great memories. Zork 1 and Planetfall were my favorites.
I remember playing Zork I on my Atari 800XL. I remember beating it with some help. It was a very enjoyable. I played the other 2 games but never got into them. I did enjoy beating PlanetFall.
I loved playing these on my original IBM PC back in the 1980’s. I bought and played nearly all the Infocom games. The Zorks were always my favorites. Some were easy and others I never completed. I never completed the one where you were woke up and had to control multiple robots from a console to do something I can’t remember. The one with the submarine was probably the easiest. My second favorite was Starcross, simple yet enjoyable.
I wanted to start my own similar game company, but could never seem to get the funds together to buy everything I needed. Low paying jobs, etc seemed to always get in the way, then when the text adventure era was over, I lost interest and just played the graphics games knowing it was most likely beyond my capability.
Then the Myst series came out and I had to play all of them.
Zork is part of my soul.
Adventureland, zork, starcom and hitchhikersguide to the galaxy
When it came out, playing it on my C64 or Vic20 i forget which bc i had both, the thought wasn’t about how good it was without graphics. It wasn’t something i ever judged it by. It was an an exciting puzzle game where you had to navigate using text commands. I will admit to buying one of those invisible ink cheat guides where it had a questions with progressively revealing answers to help you figure out things. Otherwise with no cheating it was pretty hard to complete. But i did figure out most mysteries on my own. More recently i introduced my son to it with the help of a useful map. The map makes it a lot of fun without getting confused by some if the non intuitive loops that happen in the game.
This was my first game.
I learned english just to play infocom's and scott adam's games in the 80s! I would sit in front of my small black & green CRT monitor, with an english dictionary on my lap... I still remember being very confused by the "dumb-waiter" in voodoo castle! wonderful times...
Zork is still one of my favorite games to date. I found a website called pcjs that emulates it. Me and my friend who are very tech savvy have recently introduced it to many other students at my school and it has become thing at my school even though none of the student s were alive when it came out
Me too I just found it and was playing it at school
