Fantastic tutorial, very interesting and looks pretty easy. I’ve only seen where they use cling film, wrap and add pressure. This seems way less intrusive using the goo from the plant :-). Nice
Hi! Do seedlings need to be hardened off before grafting? I have seedlings still in a sealed sterile container, it's very moist in there. If I were to grow them out naturally, I'd acclimatize them to dry conditions slowly. I think I've seen someone grafting seedlings from a container that was wet and dewy like mine is now, not yet hardened off to dryness, so I'm unsure of what to do :)
็Hello Generally, cacti that are suitable for grafting should last 3 months or more, they are easier to work with and the seedlings are more likely to survive. My advice When the seedlings are 2 months old, you can open the container lid. In order for the trees to adjust outside after 3 months, they will be grafted.
It grows diffferntly based off of light and soil and temp differences and there’s also multiple cultivars of pereskiopsis but a quick flame can remove the hairs at least. Too long and you’ll burn the plant.
Great video! Hi ma'am, I'm new to cactus grafting and your video is quite informative to me. Will the graft be successful if I didnt use the plastic bag to cover them? Thank you.
Thanks for the video, i have some questions if possible: 1- i have some pereskiopsis cuttings that are recovering they're green but don't have leaves can they be used for grafting? 2- I've seen videos where people put pressure on the scion for one week and remove the pressure, and others like yours use only ziplock bag without putting pressure at all, what method is better and does pressure makes any difference? 3- once grafting is successful how often do you water them? Thanks a lot
Hello my friend 1. Yes , there are any problem if you use pereskiopsis without leaves it can be done 2. My method, you only put and use the latex from its leaves (after grafting keep it away from wind blowing) 3. I water every 2 days

After grafting do you keep them out of the sun? If so, how long for?

Very clear -thank you. my Pereskiopsis is full of little thorns, quite the devil to get out, yours doesnt seem to have any? is yours a special breed ?

Hello thanks for your watching. It can do, but you need to place them away from wind blow

Awesome to find my questions asked and answered already :)
Maybe one more: when can i remove the baggie?
How long do you leave the zipper bags on for? I haven't used this stock before! But I have the stock and seedlings that I would like to try these on.
Should have taped of strapped on the scion. That's how everyone else does it.

Where can you get this rootstock from?
Latex?
it looked to me that it's squeezed from the leaves that were cut off
Latex from... aloe???
No, from the parts they cut off the pereskiopsis leaves
Hmmmm. What is the latex?
Pereskiopsis?
how do you tell if a seedling is old enough to graft?
Hello , You can count the age by sowing the seed. Generally for about 3 months after sowing, which is the time when the cactus is strong enough.
@@homeluckyplants5990 thank you for the response, I appreciate it.
