GO ROSSI!! I miss Gideon, but I love Rossi, and this shows he's why he's so awesome, he really had the killer fooled. Rossi may not be super genius like Reid, but he's still extremely intelligent and extremely clever.
@@emilio2647 He is an ex marine but him and Gideon also got the BAU started.. they're known as the Godfathers of the BAU but eventually he left to write and then came back in s3 I think bc he felt he had unfinished business
Rossi and Prof. Rothchild--definite great example of two great actors working off of each other. I can't help but wonder how much of this scene was scripted...and how much was improvised. The way the scene flows, at least some of it was improvised. And Rossi may not have Reid's genius intellect but he knows how to read people, he knows how to use what he reads to play people, and he definitely wants to pass on what he knows. That's why he teaches, that's why he took Reid under his wing so fast, that's why he came back to the BAU in the first place. And Jason Alexander may be best known for his work on Seinfeld, but this shows just how good he is in other roles. When I first saw this episode, I didn't even think of George Castanza from Seinfeld. He not only didn't look like George, he didn't sound or act like him and none of it was forced.
A good deal of this scene was probably improvised unless they have insane memories. Since Jason Alexander (Rothschild/Grace) and Joe Mantegna (Rossi) both came from Broadway stage productions, they decided to do 10-minute long takes because it was familiar to them.
It’s so satisfying Rossi outsmarted him to confessing his crimes and save the people he kidnapped. Plus it shows that he is a coward when he loses his temper and attack rossi from behind. Idk if they really did execute him but Even if he wasn’t he’ll live with the fact he was bested by the same man who caught his brother
Holy f#@$. I had totally forgotten about this episode. I watched it when it first aired but didn't remember it. Rossi never really appealed to me in the same way that they other characters did. He definitely does now.
Rothchild was the perfect villain for Rossi. He's a intellectual genius and seems to be smarter than Rossi , but his achilles heel is; he's psychotic and smug, something that Rossi notices and in the end is able to capitalise on it : His arrogance . In other words ; Rossi beat Rothchild at his own game with only his intuition and experiences in Behavioural Analysis .
@dagniranum I so get that! I felt a totally different way when Rossi first appeared on-screen but now, its a totally different ballgame indeed. Must go watch this episode again now i feel that way *rubs hands together gleefully* Great vid mate! :)
that..... was.... awesome.... XD but ever since I watched Valentines day last week, I can't get the image of Joe Montegna out of my head when he said "GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR BUTT (cause I don't wanna swear ;o) AND USE YOUR DANG (
Oh, and one more thing!! I agree with all of you ladies. Yes, Joe Mantegna is soooooo distinguished and hot. He is definitely my type of man. And LORDY Again!!!!!! :)
This episode was based on John Haigh and how he got rid of his victims. Even though the story is a work of fiction you can tell they took a lot of Haigh background for the character. Like using acid to destroy all evidence. Also Haigh was extremely arrogant and thought he was really clever. And when captured admitted to all his crimes. As he misunderstood our laws. He thought that without a body no one can be charged of murder. Which in some circumstances was true. But what he didn't realise if you confess that you are eligible to stand trial for the crimes. Also where he dumped the remains there were parts of the bodies not fully destroyed. And he was hung August 1949 by Albert Pierrepoint.
Rossi is my fave in CM! As for genius? That can come in many forms. Reid and Garcia are obvious because of their ability to reach a conclusion based on numerical/digital footprints and Reid's ability to absorb the information he reads with his eidetic memory. That and he can read faster than a flick of a light switch and retain it all. That comes from being truly gifted in a more natural way... but with Rossi? His genius comes from instinct, understanding the human condition and behavior patterns. Rossi's ability to outsmart is by using his off the chart intellect, taking in the instincts of the others as well as his own, using his past experiences and knowledge he gained himself through decades of experience, and adding it to the knowledge of everyone around him, especially within the team at the BAU, which leads him to outsmart so-called geniuses like this guy and so many others. Rossi/Hotch/Prentiss can look and think outside the box and have street smarts. Rossi also started the BAU with another genius - Gideon. They (in the show anyway) paved the way for the others to be able to get where they are. Reid and Garcia are my 2nd faves equally but after my main man Rossi! His street smarts and intellect should never be looked down upon for the others wouldn't be where they are if it hadn't been for Rossi and Gideon.
I honestly thought that rossi was going to be the next body the way it kinda slowed down but rossi literally slammed him on the glass and roasted him 😂
GO ROSSI!! I miss Gideon, but I love Rossi, and this shows he's why he's so awesome, he really had the killer fooled. Rossi may not be super genius like Reid, but he's still extremely intelligent and extremely clever.
I agree, he has 30+ years experience by this time, something reid and the other teams don't have.
Lesson learned: you don't try and match wits with a criminal profiler. Rossi played him like a fiddle.
@@mayaringer5711 actually Rossi is an ex-marine like Mark Harmon's character from NCIS.
is it cannon that rossi was in the mafia
@@emilio2647 He is an ex marine but him and Gideon also got the BAU started.. they're known as the Godfathers of the BAU but eventually he left to write and then came back in s3 I think bc he felt he had unfinished business
Reid is a genius in many ways, but Rossi knows people...how they think, what makes them tick, what motivates them.
That’s what makes him so good...though he wasn’t as good as it as Gideon.
@@paravecchiavince9685Rossi himself says he learned a lot from Gideon, so that makes sense
I see what you did there 😂
“...Say hello to your scumbag brother”
“Oh yeah? Well....the JERK STORE called.....”
Underrated as hell.
If you watched the whole episode then you know how savage Rossi was
'Teaching?'
'Yeah. Unlike you, I'm a real professor.'

I.....I can't believe I didn't recognize George Castanza.......I feel like a dolt
2:18 is EPIC !
"I'm gonna lean in real close and tell you to say hello to your scumbag brother."
SAVAGE LEVEL #JEDI
Strong Fat Tony vibes from this scene
Yeah ...... don't make Rossi take a case personally
Rossi is SAVAGE brush!
Gotta love David Rossi and, by extension, his actor Joe Mantegna. he does an PRICELESS badass boast!
He sounded an awful lot like his alter ego Fat Tony when he had Rothchild pinned!
It’s so satisfying Rossi outsmarted him to confessing his crimes and save the people he kidnapped. Plus it shows that he is a coward when he loses his temper and attack rossi from behind. Jason's acting here was nothing short of marvelous!
He can be good with the right material
Love Rossi.. This is one of his best scenes, definetly! :)
Thanks for uploading, love!
I hear that scream and just think of Costanza runnin over kids out of the apartment fire
2:03-26. All Hail Rossi. Fucking gangster with a badge.
Rossi made the show. He's my fave character. And I'm only in season 6. I just started watching this show And I freaking love it.
Watched up to the end of season 9, Season 10 onwards it turns to crap
Rossi slamming Costanza did what Jerry wanted to do for years!
Good Job Rossi!
I just watched this and got so excited when he said "you got that?" Daaaaamn!!!
Who woulda thought admitting to murder in an interrogation room would get you in trouble
DAMN ROSSI! I have a heightened respect for you now
Damn Jason Alexander can act.
That Joe Mantegna is my kind of man. Lordy!!!!! :)
Excellent Actor
I personally think that Rossi is a great addition to the team , he can do everything
Interrogation moments are some of the best.
This is why Rossi is so AWESOME!!!!
Love Rossi! He's so smart and he owned!:) still miss Gideon
This was one of the best scenes in the series. And it was also the best thing I've ever seen Jason Alexander do.
Rossi is my favorite on top of the others
Same.
Oh yeah, one of the best episodes and moments in TV.
Gideon was great on this show but Rossi was the best! This scene just proves it!
Damn Rossi! Like a boss! I didn't see that coming at all.
Fantastic sequence. Thanks Joe.
I LOVED THIS EPISODE!?! ROSSI AND GARCIA WERE SAVAGE!
Point stated. Never mess with Rossi
MY ... ALL ... TIME ... FAVORITE ... CRIMINAL MINDS ... MOMENT & EPISODE ... EVER
1:55 All I see is George Constanza😂
Gammies getting upset!
Rossi interrogations are the best interrogations
every time the team got a narcissist i could only think ‘get rossi’
Rossi is AWESOME.
Can we take a moment to applaud Jason Alexander's acting in this episode! I mean, wow!
rossi is great awsome sexy hot hansome hes just awesome
is that Ben franklin?
Anyone else waiting for the Seinfeld bass at the end?
Just two words: ROSSI RULES!!!
The absolute shift in the balance of power once Rossi stands up...
Holy f#@$. I had totally forgotten about this episode. I watched it when it first aired but didn't remember it. Rossi never really appealed to me in the same way that they other characters did. He definitely does now.
His voice soothes me

*insert joke about George Costanza here.*
Honestly, Rossi fooled me, too.
jeez does evil run in the family

I hope in season 13 Jason and Rossi come together
I love Rossi!!!

When Rossi speaks all deep and low like he did in that guys ear, all i hear is Fat Tony.
Rossi should do this to every unsub!! Regardless of what they did!! 😂😂😂
GREAT EPISODE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Alexander was so good as an evil guy. I mean like someone so completely opposite from George. Mantenga and Alexander brought their A game.

1:55 Letting it all out
This guy was so wasted as a ‘villain of the week’
