Thank you for this, after the remnants of a hurricane blew through here my A pillar flooded on the passenger side (the side where the water pools because i live on a slope). I live in richmond and pollen season here is tremendous and wouldn't you know, the drain was completely clogged with the stuff. So one very sweaty and humid July morning I did all this and water passes through without an issue. You'd think this was designed to keep you at the dealership and blowing compressed air can only really do so much.
@mst3kpimp I found this one on a Nissan rogue. I'm going to try this on the Altima and see if it's the same. Thanks! ua-cam.com/video/JTGwevFBv6M/v-deo.htmlsi=DHhOQEFTXfljNymK
Thank you so much. My passenger floor was flooded. I followed all your steps and it all worked perfectly. But I did not make that final test in the end. I hope everything went fine. Also, do we have to do this for the driver's side as well? I am afraid now. 😅
I did what you did and it really helped when it rains a little or when i wash my car, but when it rains non stop the roof and the floor get really wet. Does that mean I probably need a new seal?
are you sure the water has a clear path to drain through? it sounds like its backing up with heavy rain. maybe disconnect the tube and push lawn trimmer line down until it comes out the other end you could have further obstructions.
@@mst3kpimp yes its my second time checking and still got wet after fixing, I checked and both paths were clean but water was still getting in with only non stop rain . My last guess is that it probably needs a new seal around the window
It makes you think this car was designed for dealership maintenance. Why the hell would they leave such small place for water to come out? Great idea the piece removal. I wish I knew the name of the part so I don't even have to clean it, just take it out as fast as I can... Do you think if we remove the front wheel liners we would see these plugs? It seems that it would be even easier that way just by breaking the piece, then it would clean itself after pouring water.
my car 2016 has leaked now 3 times..only 60k miles on it..zdealership has no loaners you must pay now..they want to charge me if it is the drains..this is a defect..I've have 7 cars with sunroof snever needed to do this so water does not get in the cabin!! class action suit
Its more difficult but if you take out your fuse box cover or look under you can barely see it but you should be able to remove tube and stick a thin wire down there to break up obstruction. look here, ua-cam.com/video/Ch3ZegNBpys/v-deo.html OR prob an easier way is to remove the wipers and take off plastic cover which will give access to the valve exits then you can just snip out tab from under the hood. ua-cam.com/video/JTGwevFBv6M/v-deo.html
that could work however it could also cause the hose to pop off and then youd be driving the titanic. Alot of water goes through the hose when its raining.
I was easy. A lot easier than I thought. No way would I pay over 500 bucks for the work I did. The little parts like these are a shame. That nipple port is cheap, yet I bet you they'd charge twice the amount for it. Also lie about the time it takes for repairs. Honestly many things are easy to take apart on the Nissa which was kind interesting.
It really isn't as much work as a real repair, just undoing some screws and pulling a piece out. The worst part is it's a bit awkward to get to and the insulation can be a pain but its flexible enough. Anyone relatively handy would charge a 6 pack for this.

Excellent, glad to help out.
Can that plug be accessed from the other side of the fire wall to clean it out / cut it out?
i saw another video where someone did that youll have to search.

glad to help, so far i haven't had this problem on the drivers side, from what i can see on youtube its better to do it from inside the hood.
Great video. Used it on my daughters car and no problem. Thx but is this the same for a maxima?
have to look in back of the gbox.

@@perezmiguel7463 maybe but I feel like theres a buildup at the exit port that is preventing full drainage since your getting wet floors to.

@@pattykayes2876 well, if you saw the video you saw the solution. I sold this piece of junk to carvana. Best decision ever.
possibly, you may compress the obstruction though.
Can you just stick something from the ground up through the hole?
How can I access the driver side tube?

Thanks for the help 🤘
The plugs are behind the windshield plastic cover on the Altima as well ? Cause the video was on a Rogue
There's two in the front and one in the back, trunk.
I believe is also another one on the right side of the trunk too
The ones in the back are clogged on mine. Any suggestions on how to get to those?
I used an air can, shot air into the two front drain holes on the sunroof and the clog blew out

why would you have to do this..crazy..I cannot be taking my care apart or paying hundreds maybe even more money..Nissan cars are defective !
