I've had AC Issues on my 2014 Altima SV for years with delayed/erratic/reduced cooling and warm air at idle but it got worse recently. The problem is the solenoid in the compressor or ''refrigerant control valve" that gradually fails. The SV/SL models w/auto climate control have these Base/S models do not. A mechanic would prob have you replace the compressor but with a few tools you can repair...

This front wearever "platinum" kit PXD1650H from carquest are supposed to fit a 2014 Altima but the clips are poorly sized and even if you force them in the tabs rub the rotor resulting in screeching. I tested some adhesives on the gear material which appears to be nylon, black plastic welder, JB weld, hot glue, l...

My car sat for 3 months because I bought a new one and it went completely dead I couldn’t open the hood. I have a 2016 Sentra SV & tried everything until I stumbled across this video & WOW GUYS IT ACTUALLY WORKED!!! Im shocked. Thank you so much.
yaay a christmas miracle!
Okay thanks
What if my hp printer have a little rust in it ,is that going to be a problem?
prob wont matter.
Is there a longer version? I need more! I gotta have more Harmonium!
Can that plug be accessed from the other side of the fire wall to clean it out / cut it out?
i saw another video where someone did that youll have to search.
@mst3kpimp I found this one on a Nissan rogue. I'm going to try this on the Altima and see if it's the same. Thanks! ua-cam.com/video/JTGwevFBv6M/v-deo.htmlsi=DHhOQEFTXfljNymK

Yo that really works thank you 💯I tried it with my 2011 Nissan Sentra because it was stuck and it work first try thank you😁
yaaay!
Thank you! This trick saved me yesterday as I was scurrying to access my battery after water had gotten into my electrical system following the aftermath of Hurricane Helene and I needed to get on the road to take mom to a doctor appointment. I desperately needed to be able to have access to the battery while we were out so I could disconnect it while at the doctor appointment so the battery wouldn't drain and we wouldn't be stranded. Thank you, thank you, thank you! My hood latch now has some new grease and we were able to keep mom's doctor appointment.
wow so glad i could help.
Life saver thank you
is that work on every car ?
cant hurt to try.
As someone who did a/c work, that oil in the vacuum gets "saturated" with water as the moisture is sucked through the vacuum. Since this is a rental tool, and most people don't know that, there is no telling how long its been since the oil was changed and it could be heavily saturated. Water vapor (moisture) mixed with coolant, turns into an acid and slowly eats away at the parts inside your compressor. So when you create that vacuum, it actually boils the moisture turning it into a vapor and removing the "steam" from the lines and such. So long story short, absolutely spend $8 to $12 and replace the oil in the vacuum compressor before using it because its not worth having acid in your a/c system over $8 to $12 worth of oil. Also you need to run a vacuum for a minimum of 30 minutes straight. You honestly can't vacuum too long. The more the better. On my vehicle I would run it for an hour straight.
Good to know, fortunately the two times i borrowed a vacuum they had leaked empty and they had to refill for me.
Wow! I’d been struggling to get my Nissan Titan’s hood to open and your trick worked like a charm! Thank you!!!
fabulous!
👏🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Great video, thanks for posting this!
Thank you for this, after the remnants of a hurricane blew through here my A pillar flooded on the passenger side (the side where the water pools because i live on a slope). I live in richmond and pollen season here is tremendous and wouldn't you know, the drain was completely clogged with the stuff. So one very sweaty and humid July morning I did all this and water passes through without an issue. You'd think this was designed to keep you at the dealership and blowing compressed air can only really do so much.
Excellent, glad to help out.
"Very flexible, very breathable.. pull it over your port there, don't forget retaining ring. I'm a cheap little trick for ya, thanks for gawking."
would this fix apply if the mechanic states the compressor wont switch on?
possibly so.
@@mst3kpimp ill try the repair soon, its worth the shot instead of spending the 1k for new unit
@@alangorrosquieta455 indeed, please let us know how it goes.
Thank you, my hood is fixed!

Would a bad solenoid effect condensor fan speed?
in a sense since the fan kicks into high speed when the ac hits a certain pressure so if the solenoid is affecting that it can affect the fans as well.
Thank you, have a nice day
Thank you.
Hello bro
I have the same problem on my C7280. I used Hardman epoxy orange and it bonds well to nylon.
oh nice i never heard of that product.
no only sv and sl
Does the s model have the same setup?
I have a 2009 S model and it has a mechanical control valve with the manual climate control. No wires as it uses an internal bellows in the valve to try and maintain suction pressure. The variable displacement compressors need a device like this to change the angle of the swash plate inside the compressor. The Valve is in the housing facing the engine block so it isn't easily seen (on mine), held in by a C clip. As the evap temp drops because the cabin is cooling, the TXV reduces the amount of refrigerant flowing into the evap which also means lower pressures on the suction side of the compressor. The valve responds by decreasing the angle of the swash plate so the compressor isn't pumping as much. As the temp load on the evap increases (or is already high) suction pressure will be high, TXV opens more to flow more refrigerant to the evap and suction pressure is high, so the valve increases the angle causing the compressor to pump more. This is constantly changing as temps change.
Thank you!!!
Jesus Christ god bless you thank you.
This worked perfect. A Big Thank you, from Ireland
lovely.
Thanks, it worked.
I have a problem with hood stuck closed as well. Now it may be from the latch under the hood being rusted shut, or the hood frozen shut as I live in Canada, and it's just starting to warm up. I haven't had the hood open in about 2 years, so it's possible the latch rusted shut ? It's an older 97 Chev Lumina, but a great utility car, that I'd like to keep. I was thinking of firstly waiting for the weather to warm up, and see if the problem was the hood or latch was frozen. If that doesn't work, then I'll assume the latch is rusted shut, OR the cable is broken. If the cable broke ( can't see why) then your method would not work. Any ideas for me ? Good video BTW :) How would I know if the cable is broken ? Go by feel ???
I read a post from a 98 lumina owner and the problem was the cable sheath plastic end behind the release lever was popped out of its' bracket. Without light under the dash, you can't see it. Popping it back in apparently corrects the issue.
My release works fine... It pops. Up but won't open or close
try pushing the hood in until it clicks then you can release with the stick in or just pry up with your fingers while someone releases the latch.
@@mst3kpimp Pushing it in? How do you mean? My friend opened it for me six months ago with a pry bar... Said the release got bent... But I can't figure out how to do this on my own.
@@burnlastsunday oh if was forced open with a pry bar that may have bent the mechanism youll prob have to pry it open again just to see whats wrong ect.
@@mst3kpimp Yeah it has been totally fine up til a couple days ago now I had to mess some just to get it shut again. But I need to do something I'm almost out of oil(Camry)
can this valave be changed with full lines? or it is always needed to empty them?
need to empty I'm afraid.
@@mst3kpimp Thank you!
Same problem except the release button was broke. How do you get hood open when release button doesnt work at all
behind the release lever you should see the cable, you can pull on it with pliers.
My cable is detached at the hood. Now what do I do?
Appreciate the sage advice. Road trip Ready now. You Rock!!!
really helps, Thank you
Awesome, thanks!
Life shaver. Used a plastic shim. Popped right up. Blasted the mechanism with half a bottle of WD whites grease!
I used a hole saw 3 inc to cut a hole right under where the gear is on the bottom side so I can work better, it worked great. easy to work on then sand the hole inside the printer so the paper feeds just use about 20-30- pieces of paper and it feeds great took me 1/2 hour and shes been ok for 50 pages printed so far good luck.
This worked I used a wood ruler. Thank you!!
Oh my freaking good, thank you and thank my bf for having random things strong wood laying around, thank you
This video is 12 years old, but it still helped me a ton. Thank you very much.
oh wow, i honestly forgot i made this!

what lube works
most kinds or auto grease.
You just saved me ty
awesome!
Whoa see my car has been sitting at kroger for the past 4 days bc I can't get the hood open. Thank you soo much I'm about to try this!!
sure hope it works!
What type of lubricant? Not sure if I'll need it but right now my hood is stuck as well
you want some thick auto multi-grease
I literally had the exact same issue with mine. Thanks for the tip. Worked like a charm.
W mans it worked. I had to use a spatula
cool, i had it happen recently and was able to use my fingers on the side.
I did what you did and it really helped when it rains a little or when i wash my car, but when it rains non stop the roof and the floor get really wet. Does that mean I probably need a new seal?
are you sure the water has a clear path to drain through? it sounds like its backing up with heavy rain. maybe disconnect the tube and push lawn trimmer line down until it comes out the other end you could have further obstructions.
@@mst3kpimp yes its my second time checking and still got wet after fixing, I checked and both paths were clean but water was still getting in with only non stop rain . My last guess is that it probably needs a new seal around the window
@@perezmiguel7463 maybe but I feel like theres a buildup at the exit port that is preventing full drainage since your getting wet floors to.
