Thanks ! I just did mine in :45 ... my 550 was so bad that there was more metal showing that rubber ... and the space station was complaining about the glare on sunny days! :)
Great video!. Good timing also, as I received the window cover during the week and was ready to replace it today. The switch is now done with the most time consuming part trying to find a plastic tool to go under the glass. I ended up using a hanger with tape on the end. A note; on my 2004 E60 the the bottom layer of the original cover was quite soft and almost tarry. Any pieces dropping to the ground melted to the concrete. I did not expect this.
Thanks a lot. Princeton BMW tried hard to convince me that the rubber was glued underneath the glass, that I'd have to remove the glass (5 hrs of dealer labor), and that the glass may break in which case I'd have to pay for a new glass (who knows how many Gs). Wow!
Hi Mike, do you know if the same applies to the front windshield? Also, it looked like you kneaded it into the channel/slot Dry, or did you use soapy water? Exc Vid!!!

thanks.
the front is very similar. but just a single strip across the top.
Yes i did "knead" or roll it into place. no soapy water required.
Installation was simple enough after this video.Thank you! 30 minutes job as mention before.
Thank you Mike. Really like the way you talked us through. Keep it up, esp for E60.
Love this DIY - I had the exact same issue on my E60 M5 and the dealer wanted a fck load of money to change it.
ONE OF THE BETTER VIDEOS OUT THERE. CLEAN; NICE JOB!
