Just did this on my '06 525i, and it worked just like shown in the video. Several auto glass and body shops told me it was impossible to replace this seal without fully removing the rear glass, but this video proved otherwise. Thanks roskinc!
Dude thank you! Mine has started cracking and the dealer wanted to replace the glass along with the rubber gaskets. 1800 bucks saved thanks to you!
Just did mine. Thanks for the info. Didn't have a pry tool so I used a flat wooden stir spoon lol
I don't like those wooden spoons when I was a kid they hit my ass too many times...Im scarred!
you literally have the answers to all my questions when it comes to my e60, u are a legend!
Just installed mines today. Weather cleared up and got it done. Saved by not going to DS. Did get an OEM part. Thanks for the easy tips.
Oh that was so much easier than I thought. I've noticed a while ago that my had started crumbling. But I thought you had to actually remove the window itself to fix it and because of that just ignored the issue. Thanks a lot mate I will get this sorted now.
Thanks man, didn't knew it would be that easy, mine wasn't worn as bad as yours but the Spanish sun sure has an impact on these gaskets.
Great tutorial mate. Thanks for the video. I ordered my new one from America about a month ago so hopefully it gets to Australia soon🤞
Thank you! Got my seal today (got my tools the other day) and your video helped me a lot!
Jon Moore where did you get your seal at ?
Good video, just did mine, pretty easy. I had purchased the plastic body tools from ebay a while back and they were a big help.
Will be trying this next week, thanks for the info!
Thank you for this video I will order the seal tonight. Cheers
Another great video!! Thank you for posting.
Great video I’m installing mine today.
Thanks for the tip save me a lot of money thank again
Thumbs up just used your video as a guide for my own.
Thank you for making a great video!!!
Great video! Tip: use some liquid soap. Makes it much easier.
Thanks you very much for this video, I will try this on my E60
Excellent video thanks 😉👍🏻🇬🇧
Big up ... I have 2 and they both NEED them!!! thx
Complete compact explanation
OMG such a good video! I had no idea this was so easy to change! BTW a tip when working with rubber seals is using silicone spray lubricant for easier installation.
Nice work 👌🏼 I need to do my E60 rear window too.
Awesome job!
Great Simple Video...!!!!!!!
I have to do mine.
Thank you for information sharing bro.
Good video brother 👍🏻
Thank you
Thanks for the video! gonna do this soon. additional question tho: have you had any issues with the paint chipping on the roof in those little channels that meet at the corner of the gasket you just replaced? And if so, what did you do to fix it. Thanks!
legend
My friend little bit of liquid soap will help the rubber to slide in easily and seals better.
Thank you so much I know what to do now, but on mine is just the corners any tips ?
Can you please make a video on how to remove the headlights to install the headlight gasket
Is the bottom seal done in the same way, or is there a special method to remove/replace?
Do you have a tutorial for the windshield weatherstripping
Have you ever replaced the door trim seal ? Would really like to see a tutorial 🤞
G’day Roskinc great video mate. I’ve just bought a 2008 523i E60. And the rear upper needs replacing, all the rubber on mine has totally rotted away. There’s a metal strip, just wondering if the new rubber come with the strip in it please?
I’m also needing to replace the rear lower rubber, would you recommend that I insert the lower first then the upper? Or the upper then the lower please?
I’m also needing to do the front upper, single strip. Just wondering if you think I should have the front professionally done please?
I’m on a disability pension so money is extremely tight.
Thank you in advance for any assistance you can help me with. Cheers mate 👍
What do you do if the window is leaking water my seal is rotted like yours.
Can you show a video on how to remove e60 interior wood trim so we can final wrap it

I hope mine goes as easy on my '09 528i...
NIce video! Did this a few months back... What if you suspect a leak from the SharkFin? Is there a decent seal/applicant for that? I haven't seen any known parts list for it. Read in some forums where folks have mixed results depending on how they attempt to seal the Shark Fin after removal.
The shark fin has a seal all around it’s very difficult to remove I find it very weird it would leak unless they removed it to put on a roof wrap, in that case most people use double sided tape which won’t help in seeing. I used black silicone and out it all around the edge of the fin and then used double sided tape as well, cleaned with alcohol and put it back on and zero leaks
It's never been wrapped/removed. We had a very heavy downpour the other day, while I was driving and notice a bit of a leak right above the middle brake light (this is the only place it was leaking). The rear window seal was replaced about 2-months ago. I don't want to pull the Shark Fin unless necessary (due to horror stories), was considering pulling the headliner to confirm that its the source with a controlled pour test. I also cleaned sunroof drains to wheel-wells when I did the rear seal. There are no leaks at the C pillars, only above the brake light during the heavy down poor.
$140 in New Zealand.
Where can I buy this seal
The rear glass of the e60 is the same as the front windshield of the e39
Do you have any idea about why E60 and E61 BMW 04 to 2010 get the trunk wet ? How to fix that ? What I have to replace ?

you do not need to use glue????
I need to replace my too
Francisco Diaz no glue needed. It locks inplace between the glass so it won’t come out. Also i started using some water to make it easier to slide in.
Ok good , thanks
to make it perfect you need to take glass out and use a glue yes.
Which one I should be buy ? I don’t want to buy the wrong one, I was looking by the OEM part number but they said “Only cars with safety vehicle S106A... can you help me to buy the right one ?
BMW 530i 2004
You can check the part number on www.realoem.com@@Poseidon_r35
Boa
I have to replace this stupid seal every 3 years here in Texas. Kinda ridiculous
This is great and all but why only do 1/2 of the job? This is a 2 piece gasket kit. You’ve got no lower gasket.
This is true theirs a lower gasket, mine wasn’t bad I eventually change it and it was basically same process
Omg ty for subscribing if you did I will give you a shout-out in my vid
this shit costs around 50$ so it is kinda expensive..
