If you're working class and/or part of any kind of actual counter-culture, even if it's something you wouldn't normally associate with metal then you're far closer to the roots than most of these guys that put on a black band t-shirt and cargo shorts for an evening before putting their white collar back on the next morning. Metal was invented by long-haired hippies taking their pet rock for a walk like Ozzy Osborne from Black Sabbath and refined by queer leather daddies like Rob Halford from Judas Priest. Normie metalheads try to gatekeep the genre from the far out types that invented it, but you can ignore them. Korn themselves were quite polarising for conformist metalheads because they wore tracksuits and dreadlocks then incorporated elements of hip hop into their music. There were a lot of big brain takes about why they didn't count as metal back in the day, and now all of the boring bands those guys liked have been long forgotten and the downtuned 7-string style Korn helped pioneer is pretty much ubiquitous in metal these days. Always bring something new to the table, never be cookie cutter- that's how it's done.

it has been 4 days, so you have changed your music taste 13292 times. Assuming you use Spotify for music and a different music taste = a different genre, on average, you had each music taste for a total of 265.84 seconds in the 4 days. That means, that, in those 4 days, you have listened to 1.363 songs of every genre, assuming an average length per song of 195 seconds.

I don’t understand how someone can have one “aesthetic” and have everything match. My apartment is pink and white and girly, I wear both frilly pastel clothes with bows in my hair and all black clothes with chokers, I wear both natural makeup and dramatic makeup and my playlist is a fucking mess of different vibes and genres. One of the hardest questions is “what kind of music do you listen to?” Because I never have a definitive answer. I have so many genres I listen to and my playlist has songs in English, French, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Spanish, Portuguese, hell I have one song in a made up language. I can’t just give you an answer to that question on the spot lol. It’s all one playlist too, so I’ll go from Chop Suey to Hey There Delilah, or from a musical theatre song to a vocaloid song. Every time I shuffle my playlist I get the anticipation of if the next song is going to match the vibe of the current one or be completely different.

@@KitKitsuneVixen Well, my interpretation of that meme I was referring to was based on what I’ve experienced, which is that “the quiet person” (mainly as a preteen or teenager), will tend to be seen by their peers as an innocent being who can do no wrong and any display of strong emotion will come across as a spectacle.
