These are still running strong on the motorway in Portuguese 2023.
TS is 155 hp in early versions and later 150 hp, not 115

Yeah it is 115kw i guess. Made same mistake with 2.4 jtdm diesel, 135kw, not hp... so really respactable (for diesel in that period) 185hp.
The 1.6ts is 120bhp. You're right, he's got his KW and bhp mixed up as 115kw is 155 bhp.

Driven two of these, both belonging to the same Alfa Romeo expert mechanic, a 2002 166 3.0 Lusso Sportronic and a 2004 2.0 Twin Spark facelift. I absolutely love the way these cars drive, and the quality of the leather. Lots and lots of problem areas, but they sound glorious, and the engines are beautiful to look at. A true connoisseur's choice of executive saloon.
"Lots and lots of problem areas" - not sure where you got that idea from, but in my research and in my experience (owned our 166 Super for 12 years so far) there are almost no commonly occurring problem areas. The two known issues are a) heater matrix and b) squeaky clutch pedal (which this car has). b) is easily fixed; a) not so easy...
You need your own vineyard to fund the booze.

2.0 with 155 hp, not 115.
166 looks prettier than the new Giulia,more spacious too.
This car is something so extraordinary that it couldn't have been understood at the time.
I loves the 164 but these are rarer and IMHO underrated cars and this one was a massive bargain for under a grand and even better if you can win it for £10….
Me too, had a 3.0 164. Great car. paid £400 for it from a guy in London, flew down from Leeds and drove it back. Needed a bit of work but was a solid car. Once sorted it never let me down.

The 16 valve was the same car, the 8 valve engine last appeared in the 75 and early edition 155 models
in wikipedia doent even exist 115hp engine it must be 150hp at least
The t spark is 150bhp not 115 lol
And only early versions of the engine had 155, and there only in the gtv’s as far as I know! But why didn’t they bring the 2.4 diesel over here, may have sold well, and is a pretty powerful engine and it’s an Alfa engine, not like the 1.9 fiat/GM
The 2.4 JTD is part of the pratola serra modular engine family... Fiat engine, it's a very good engine

@@Grumpyjoiner4043 depends which source you go with, it's quoted between 148-155. Had two 166's in the past.

Regular Passat in 1990 had 2.0 150hp engine buddy😀 g60 had 160hp around 1980, possibly before that.

They had it until 1997, then they had 1.8t 150-225hp, but even if you want NA in 2003 they reintroduced 2.0 150hp.
So they were without it for 4-5 years when you could still buy NA 1.8 125hp, so about 140hp/2 liters, if that is your thing.😀 far from what you were trying to say, right?
@@lukazupie7220 I was comparing the equivalent offering from VW at that time. Which is the excuse for an engine they fitted to the MK4 Golf GTI the 2.0 non turbo that only produced a weedy 115 BHP.

I was in love with my Giulia and Alfa Romeo as a brand, however, I will never again buy/recommend another Alfa Romeo in my life. I had the brake by wire system fail on me and it caused me to crash and total the car. They sent someone from Bosch to diagnose the vehicle and in the charts it clearly showed that something malfunctioned (brakes were slammed 2 seconds before the impact at 40 MPH and it took more than 1.5 seconds for the speed to start going down.) Stellantis told me that they were not going to take responsibility for it and that I needed to have my insurance pay for the vehicle. Absolute garbage. I will never recommend this car brand to anyone again! Buy an AUDI, BMW or Mercedes instead!

I'd buy one. -since Lncia qill prpbably never make the gorgeous concept cae Fuvietta Ciupe(BIG mistake). the Italians remain the wprlds' to-best car designers, imo. give your designers a chance, Italia !- do a deal with Teslaa/GM for a power train, ifnecessary, a floor pan from Sweden, a la the 164, my TS version of the latter was the best car I've owned. beter built in Arese than Merc C-class . only my Toyota Soarer got close to its build-quality.
